honored to have my dear friend jen on this podcast. she graduated this year with a BA in International Studies and Environmental Studies from Wheaton College. aside from spearheading the divestment campaign for her college, she is passionate about climate justice and focuses in human rights issues in climate induced migration. she is the best.
today i talk about implications on the climate crisis from covid19, and how this might progress.  sources: https://qz.com/1844021/even-the-covid-19-economic-slowdown-cant-stop-climate-change/ https://www.economist.com/leaders/2020/04/25/covid-19-and-the-climate
so I spend a lot of time thinking about this, but I think other people should think about it too.
MORE! we had such a nice conversation, :)
welcome 2 of my cool friends, Charlotte and Emma, to the podcast. we talk about acne and being in middle school and skincare and all that good stuff. shoutout to the knitting club.
remember the "other stuff" part about this podcast? yeah, this is it. inspired by my friends in knitting club. i love knitting club.
i talk about adapting vs. mitigating in my elevator pitches about the climate crisis a lot, so let's talk about it here too. also education as an adaptation to the climate crisis. and how important the climate strikes are!! i also talk about my cat and knitting club. the best club ever.
in this episode of climate change and other stuff I'm thinking about fun big confusing existential questions, like why do we even do this climate change adaptation thing. is it worth it?! inspired by Learning to Die in the Anthropocene by Roy Scranton. thanks to my geography professor, Chris, for the assigned reading for class. join me and find out how i feel about all this crazy business. so sorry about the audio quality in this episode...microphone comes in the mail tomorrow!!
RCPs? or, representative concentration pathways. an important way to predict the realities of climate change in the future, definitely! but what do you think?? join me this episode as I break down what RCPs are, the controversy around them, and my feelings about them.
in my first episode we are discussing what da heck the greenhouse effect is, what greenhouse gases are, and how it all works.
