Are you spending most of your time Coaching or in the land of Everything But Coaching (EBC)? In today's episode I aim to flip the script and invite you to give a good look at what part of your work you're giving the most attention to. Send me your insights and questions: Learn more about Misfit to Maverick: --- Send in a voice message:
I see amazing coaches describing their work using coach speak all the time.  I think every coach has done this, myself included. The way to reach your people, though, is to use THEIR words (coffee talk speak!), not yours. Want to learn more about the upcoming membership space? Coach Penny Gambill joins me today to talk about her work supporting women who are ready to reclaim control over their lingering drinking habits and reach their health goals. She shares not only the various ways understanding her YouMap helped her build confidence in and communicate her unique coaching gifts, but also the unique way she chose to start shining her light and working with clients WITHOUT having to build a website. Want to know if your copy is clear? If your program makes sense?  Stop asking your fellow coaches and ask your audience instead. (unless coaches are your audience!) --- Send in a voice message:
Unless coaches are your target market, stop asking them what they think of your offfer/website/freebie. Ask the people that you want to help DIRECTLY. A Conversation Project will give you help you do this. I challenge you to have 30 coaching conversations with 30 different people (within whatever market you might be considering!) to learn more about what they need, want, dream about, what problems they have and how they explain their lives in their own words. Notice what you're inspired by, drawn to, and what you can create with your coaching tools in response to what you learn. You can say yes, no, or renegotiate. Sharing a bit of my philosophy and approach to Discovery Calls through 5 "tips". This is by no means a rulebook or set of steps for everyone to follow - take what feels right, leave on the table what you know isn't meant for you. 1. Explore Fit 2. Be of service 3. Let them talk. 4. Assess alignment. 5. Leave details until the end. Bonus #6. Test the Yes. To learn about Allegra and The Niching Compass visit --- Send in a voice message:
What if the one thing you think is holding you back from taking action in your coaching work could be cleared up by committing to just a few simple mico-actions? Itzamarie Chevere Torres shares her story about how a year+ long roadblock was cleared out in just a few simple steps. Find and follow Itzamarie on Instagram here. The more I listen to other teachers try to tell you how to build a coaching practice, the more I realize, "but that's just the right way for how THEY like to work - it won't be a fit for everyone!!" I hope today's episode helps you relax a bit in to the possibility that there IS no one right way to be on this journey, but there is a right way for YOU. Get clear on how you like to work, and everything becomes easier and more aligned. --- Send in a voice message:
