We all know that renting has always come with its own headaches, but this past year has caused many more problems than usual for many homeowners in Denver, and other cities across the country.  Evictions are increasing at an alarming rate because of the recent economic slump. There are already dozens of families around the country who still haven't received a portion of the Federal aid allotted to keep them in their homes, due to difficulty in disbursing funds that seems to be holding back most states.  This happens after hundreds have already been evicted from their homes before they could even apply for aid at all!  In this episode I'm exploring Denver's growth, Hatch Chiles, tent cities, and what Denver's doing to move the needle. Melting Pots, Back Inside, and Will and Jada Get Real. Fresh off my birthday week, I've been doing a lot of reflecting on just how far we've come, and how much further we may have to go, to create real diversity -  whether it's in our day to day interactions, at work or with strangers, how we think about ourselves and others even in our personal and familial relationships, how we talk to our children about race, diversion, and inclusion - in a world of completely unique people.  My favorite couple, Will and Jada, are back in the news and bring up the very real question of; What does commitment in a relationship actually look like, and how easy is it to forgive after a partner's indescretion?  I'm giving some insight from my own previous relationships, good and bad, and you might be surprised at some of my answers to those questions.  Tune into this week's episode as I enjoy some leftover cake, sip some tea on the state of freedom in relationships, and mull over the concepts of acceptance, freedom and, honesty in relationships. . So grab your cuppa joe (or whatever the day calls for), settle in, and enjoy the show.    If you'd like to be notified when a new episode drops, subscribe / review / support the show - It's all appreciated. ++++++++ Connect On Social Media: Website: https://mscourtneyjones.com/ FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/Straight-From-the-Hip-with-Courtney-Jones-107396254198988 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/str8fromthehipwithcourtney/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/CoffeenCourtney LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mscourtneyjones Ready to Work with Me? https://calendly.com/mscourtneyrjones Music Attribution Get Bad News by Charlene here https://t.lickd.co/VEawPkBA67p --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/mscourtney-jones/message

Can you imagine having fresh fruits and vegetables delivered to your door during the recent shut-ins? Unfortunately, there are neighborhoods and communities all across the country that can't, and haven't been able to, long before the nations current crisis. According to the USDA, more than 6% of American households have experienced some form of food insecurity over the last 18 months.  Over recent months I've complained about food shortages at my local store, a major inconvenience, in which my grocery worked hard to quickly rectify. Supply chains were disrupted and things were in flux.  In this week's episode, my guest Keith Muhummad, of Atlanta's The Best Fruit Store, and I dive deep on the policies past and present, and the practical, real world solutions he's implementing in his own community, to water the food desert he found himself and neighbors surrounded by.  I also give an update on last weeks episode; Meg wants Torey Lanes to Stop Playin', August Alsina is Entangled in the sheets, and Nick Cannon wants his brand back. I've got all that, and more, on this week's episode. So grab your cuppa joe (or whatever the week is calling for), settle in, and make sure the ear buds are charged up.
