As an effective leader, you put yourself out there. You take the heat that others throw your way because you know it comes with the territory. It's inevitable, as a leader, you will receive criticism. Never allow that reality to keep you from leading well. Sometimes the critiques will come from your rivals, sometimes your friends, and often from other leaders who are attempting to keep you at bay by outdated means.Leading is a teaching profession, and in this episode are real-life examples of contempt-filled words spewed at leaders from across rooms or whispered into their ear. It may open your eyes, or perhaps you'll nod your head in agreement. The suggested responses to each statement are an attempt to provide a cathartic if not helpful retort to keep in mind, or under your breath, the next time you come across unsupportive people.***About Reflections on Leadership:Leadership advisor, writer, and no BS accountability partner, Karl Bimshas, shares quick reflections on leadership, and interviews other busy professionals, to challenge your perspective, provide inspiration, and give insights to help you manage better and lead well.More resources => LearnFromKarl.com***Read the Reflections on Leadership blog here => bimshasconsulting.com/blog***Join the "Reflections on Leadership" group page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/reflectionsonleadership/You can leave an audio comment or if you're listening on the Anchor.fm platform, make a donation and become a podcast supporter.https://anchor.fm/karlbimshas***Learn more about Karl Bimshas Consulting and stay up to date when you join the mailing listhttp://www.bimshasconsulting.com/contact/sign-up/***Twitter: https://twitter.com/KarlBimshasInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/KarlBimshas/LinkedIn Business Page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/karlbimshasconsulting/***Leadership Swag: Visit Leadershirts and wear your leadership philosophy on your sleeve.Books by Karl Bimshas: http://bit.ly/BimBooks***Thank you. If your organization doesn’t have a plan to dig deeper and also measure meaningful results; like how many lives it will make better, jobs it will create, communities it will strengthen, or families it will serve, you may want to review your vision, values, and goals. Can you suppress the desire to pass costs, burden, or blame on your end-user, client, consumer, audience, patient, or citizen, and instead improve your supply chain? Each day you have an opportunity to reduce the size of your ego and realign your focus. Place it on the number or size of problems solved, crises averted, lives saved, children fed and educated, elders respected and cared for or other similar causes. If you’re courageous and smart, you can do that profitably. Do it well enough, and the number of zeros on the balance sheet will grow through fulfilled needs, not insatiable greed.***About Reflections on Leadership:Leadership advisor, writer, and no BS accountability partner, Karl Bimshas, shares quick reflections on leadership, and interviews other busy professionals, to challenge your perspective, provide inspiration, and give insights to help you manage better and lead well.More resources => LearnFromKarl.com***Read the Reflections on Leadership blog here => bimshasconsulting.com/blog***Join the "Reflections on Leadership" group page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/reflectionsonleadership/You can leave an audio comment or if you're listening on the Anchor.fm platform, make a donation and become a podcast supporter.https://anchor.fm/karlbimshas***Learn more about Karl Bimshas Consulting and stay up to date when you join the mailing listhttp://www.bimshasconsulting.com/contact/sign-up/***Twitter: https://twitter.com/KarlBimshasInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/KarlBimshas/LinkedIn Business Page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/karlbimshasconsulting/***Leadership Swag: Visit Leadershirts and wear your leadership philosophy on your sleeve.Books by Karl Bimshas: http://bit.ly/BimBooks***Thank you. We all know that 50-65% of managers don't give a crap. They don't care about their direct reports, the organization that pays them, and they don't particularly care about their leader. Now, if you're a jackhole like them, maybe you don't care either. But this is for those managers that DO care. It’s time to give a different type of management C.R.A.P.CompassionRecognitionAccountabilityPersistence***About Reflections on Leadership:Leadership advisor, writer, and no BS accountability partner, Karl Bimshas, shares quick reflections on leadership, and interviews other busy professionals, to challenge your perspective, provide inspiration, and give insights to help you manage better and lead well. More resources => LearnFromKarl.com***Read the Reflections on Leadership blog here => bimshasconsulting.com/blog ***Join the "Reflections on Leadership" group page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/reflectionsonleadership/You can leave an audio comment or if you're listening on the Anchor.fm platform, make a donation and become a podcast supporter.https://anchor.fm/karlbimshas***Learn more about Karl Bimshas Consulting and stay up to date when you join the mailing listhttp://www.bimshasconsulting.com/contact/sign-up/***Twitter: https://twitter.com/KarlBimshasInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/KarlBimshas/LinkedIn Business Page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/karlbimshasconsulting/***Leadership Swag: Visit Leadershirts and wear your leadership philosophy on your sleeve.Books by Karl Bimshas: http://bit.ly/BimBooks***Thank you. Busy professionals often feel anxious because far too many are not acting on purpose, or their values do not align with the organization. Your business might have a code of conduct, but do you?Busy professionals should have a personal compass to follow. It doesn’t need to be something as grand as a manifesto, though, you should spend time creating one for yourself because it is important to document what you believe in and stand for in your life. ***About Reflections on Leadership:Leadership advisor, writer, and no BS accountability partner, Karl Bimshas, shares quick reflections on leadership, and interviews other busy professionals, to challenge your perspective, provide inspiration, and give insights to help you manage better and lead well.
