A talented salesman, voracious reader, gentle giant and uber nerd - Gabe is my very special guest for episode five. We get to dive into a part of Gabe's life that led him down a creative road he never intended to travel. While working as a comic book salesman for an internal comic book division of Double Take Media, he was offered a seat at the creative table as a writer. Courageously grasping this serendipitous chance changed what he imagined the direction of his career was going to be. In our conversation we talk about overcoming writing blocks, the process of creating a comic book, overcoming disappoints and being resilient as a creative.
Hey! We're on Facebook now! Go find our page by searching Creative Calls Podcast in the search bar and get busy liking and sharing our stuff! Now, with that said, our guest today is an old friend of mine, a creative mind that hungers for narrative meaning - Charles Beacham! Charles has had a very cool career in comic books, working for Marvel and now at Activision helping to launch a line for comics for the video game universe of Destiny. While at Marvel he touched just about every popular franchise under the roof, including the newly acquired Star Wars universe. We talk a lot about Star Wars, story craft, networking, risk taking, and what it's like getting to work with your heroes. This isn't an episode you'll wanna miss.
Allow me to introduce our new guest, a very talented digital designer working at Fossil, Rachel Fowler!
From web marketing to UX design, Dillon has a track record of braving the darkness and bringing excellence in whatever role he's chosen to play. In this Interview we talk about his history with creativity, design and the inspirations that he's found throughout the course of his career so far. You don't want to miss this!
