"Mercy & Fire" Denver 2017

"Mercy & Fire" Denver 2017

2018-07-2701:02:14

Listen in as Edmee and Bevelyn talk about their adventures spreading the Gospel in Denver in July of 2017: from ministering to a former pastor who had fallen into despair and alcohol following the death of his first wife, and his new family which was in the throes of domestic abuse; to standing up righteously against Planned Parenthood alongside a couple who have spent the last twenty years of their lives rescuing women from abortion. The couple remains in contact with many of the moms and children they have saved and cherishes a beautiful photo album that serves as a testament to what happens when we encourage the lost to choose life, choose Jesus. In a society in which evil is seen as good; and good is seen as evil, we are grateful to the Holy Spirit for continuing to reveal the truth of Jesus to us so that we can go out and preach the Good News that Jesus LOVES and He saves.

"The Heat" Las Vegas 2017

In the spring of 2017 we—Edmee, Jessica, and Bevelyn— headed to Las Vegas, (or as Bevelyn called it, Mr. Las Vegas because Vegas is so rough it has to be a man)! Edmee really had it in her heart to go to Planned Parenthood and speak with women about abortion, and unfortunately, Bevelyn has had three abortions and knows firsthand the struggles and the pain, so we googled the closest Planned Parenthood location and drove there. When we arrived, the parking lot was empty, but we knew it was open, so we just sat in the car, praying and seeking direction from the Holy Spirit—telling Him that we just wanted to stop at least one abortion that day; we wanted to speak to at least one woman. Eventually, a car pulled up and three people got out of the car; an older couple and a young girl, who looked to be no more than sixteen. The couple appeared to be Caucasian, and she looked Hispanic. We figured the couple was taking the girl to get an abortion. So a few minutes after they went into Planned Parenthood, we followed them. Bevelyn approached them with love and started a conversation with the couple and then asked them why the girl was there. When they didn’t want to disclose any information, Bevelyn just looked at the girl and said, “Don’t do it! Don’t do it! You’ll regret it the rest of your life. This is not a good decision. God is a Provider, and He will make a way for you to provide for you and your baby. Do not kill your baby. Do not murder your child.” The man stood up and started to raise hell, shouting at Bevelyn to mind her business, and yelling and saying that it was “a safe procedure and that it was just clump of cells, and we’re getting it early on. You have no right to say these things!” LEARN MORE
In the spring of 2017, we took our second trip to LA while ministering in Las Vegas. We really saw the LORD at work in so many awesome and wonderful ways! The glory and majesty of our God was re-confirmed to us, and we learned once again that everything is in God! It’s in You, Lord! The first time we went to minister in Los Angeles, we were at the VA hospital praying for a man named Mr. X who was a veteran, but had also been a dancer on the TV show Soul Train! He at first did not want to be prayed for but did not mind us singing. As we were singing This “Little” Light of Mine, a lady peeked her head through the curtains and said, “I’d recognize the Holy Ghost anywhere!” And that’s how we met Ms. LaShona. She’s become like family, and so has her son! Bevelyn calls Bryin, her “brother from another mother.” God always unites His children! And we are so grateful that the Holy Spirit connected us with Ms. LaShona, and her son Bryin. Meeting them was like the book of Acts when people shared what they had in the name of the LORD! Bryin wounded up housing and hosting us for the weekend, and we were able to share our testimonies. He has a beautiful testimony, and we look forward to having him on a podcast in the future. When we first met Ms. LaShona, she’d told us to stay in touch, but we don’t think she thought we meant it, so when her son arranged for us to surprise her one afternoon, Ms. LaShona was surprised indeed! She was at the harbor enjoying lunch with her husband, but she was so happy to see us! And we were happy to see her! LEARN MORE
"A Wife" Munich 2016

"A Wife" Munich 2016

2018-01-0101:03:48

In the spring of 2016, we spent a memorable and spirit-filled week in Munich Germany where we learned that there’s always more going on beneath the surface, and things aren’t always what they appear to be. We, Bevelyn, Edmee and Jessica, were thrilled to go to Germany for the first time. When we originally booked our trip, we made a reservation and paid for a hotel in Munich, but about two weeks before we left for Germany, our friend Manu who lives in Munich with her son Benny offered to host us! So in Manu, we had both home and tour guide. A double blessing! We were looking forward to spending quality time with our friend, whom we’d met the previous year on our ministry trip to New Orleans… Manu picked us up from the airport, and as we were driving around getting our first glimpse of Munich, we were immediately struck by how clean and tidy the city was! It was practically spotless. We wondered where we could minister in a town that looked as if it had itself together! But Manu knew exactly where to take us, and drove us to a refugee camp. Germany has become the temporary home to many Syrian and Nigerian refugees among other nations. And indeed from the looks of it, the living conditions in which the refugees found themselves were far superior to what many had in their home countries. And the refugee housing was much, much better than the refugee camps we’d visited in France where the conditions were precarious. LEARN MORE
Our experience in Washington DC is evidence of the Lord’s faithfulness, mercy and boundless love towards us. All glory and honor be to God who made our first ministry trip and journey to Washington a success. He was with us all the way, through thick and thin. The decision to worship and praise Jesus in public was initially born in Central Park. We’d go out every Saturday. The day it all began, we were walking down Central Park, and started to sing the song “This little light of mine, am gonna let it shine!” But then, we changed the lyrics to, ‘this big light of mine, am gonna let it shine.’ As we were singing, God’s spirit enveloped the area and overwhelmed us. Some people joined us in singing, and the joy of the Lord radiated. This was when we realized that the Lord was giving us a new direction: to praise Him in front of the White House. We felt we had to take this ministry to other places. Little did we know that God was just getting started with us. This new idea of going on the road was so exciting!!! While we had barely got to know each other, we knew Father God was doing something special in our lives. Jessica even envisioned us being televised while praising God in DC. We could not wait to go!!! LEARN MORE
