Robbing an armored truck is one of the most difficult and dangerous crimes someone can commit. These illegal acts take patience, precision and planning...skills most run-of-the mill robbers don’t possess. If a suspect is successful, the payoff can be millions of Dollars all at once, which is why throughout the decades some men and women have tried to execute the perfect plan to net one of these mobile money pots. In this 10-part series host of Disgraceland, Jake Brennan details some of the most daring and deadly armored truck heists in history that left lasting marks on society and law enforcement agencies across the world. From Audiochuck and executive producer Delia D’Ambra, Armored is an in-depth, research-based original podcast and the first two episodes are out RIGHT NOW! Learn more about your ad choices. SEASON OF JUSTICE!!!

SEASON OF JUSTICE!!!

2021-07-1536:2017

Audiochuck’s founder and CEO, Ashley Flowers, has founded a new non-profit called Season of Justice. Season of Justice (SOJ) is dedicated to providing funding to law enforcement agencies and families to help solve cold cases. SOJ provides grants to law enforcement for advanced DNA analysis solutions, such as forensic genealogy and next-generation sequencing. The organization also awards grants to families to support awareness campaigns, search teams and other initiatives that can assist in pushing their cold cases forward. SOJ’s goal is to provide financial resources for both law enforcement and families in order to bring closure to those impacted by unsolved violent crimes. Though Season of Justice is completely separate from audiochuck, it’s because of Crime Junkie listeners that we have been able to fund the organization so far. Every time you’ve ordered merch, signed up for the fan club or just listened to one of our ads on Crime Junkie we have donated to SOJ. Because of you we have already been able to award $145,000 in grants to assist with 25 cold cases. And that’s JUST the beginning. We expect to award another $75,000 to $100,000 through the rest of this year and hopefully much more in the years to come. At audiochuck, we believe we have a responsibility to do more than just tell these stories. We believe you as listeners have a responsibility to do more than just listen. We really wanted to be able to move the needle in the true crime space and create responsible true crime content and we are doing that together. Because of you and because of this show, we will all be directly responsible for making a difference. For making sure justice is served. For doing right by the people whose stories we tell. Whether you’ve been here since day one or you just found our show – THANK YOU. Thank you for being a part of this journey. And thank you for helping us making a lasting responsible impact in the true crime space. Audiochuck will always continue to use the funds brought in by our fans to support Season of Justice and other non-profits and cases that are important to us and our listeners, but if you want to donate directly you can visit the website Seasonofjustice.org. Season of Justice is a 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax-deductible.  Law enforcement, victims and families can also submit grant applications on the website for funding. One day we hope to wake up and say there are no more cold cases… That won’t be tomorrow, but there is a future where that’s possible. And thank you for making that happen. needs to watch the confessional killer on Netflix regarding Henry Lee Lucas. it's incredibly eye-opening as to how Henry got away with all of this and how the Texas Rangers more or less knew that he was confessing to crimes he probably didn't commit but they didn't care because in their books the crime was closed. Decades later, thanks to DNA, we were able to find out that a handful of crimes at Henry had confessed to (shockingly knowing a lot of details) were NOT committed by him they were committed by other individuals. To this day only one Texas Ranger agreed that perhaps their questioning technique wasn't the greatest, the rest stand by his convictions if crimes he wasn't even a apart of.

I enjoy unsolved cases... They might not be quite as fulfilling as a story with an ending but I mean, people are getting away with murder! What tha heck! I wanna know about this craziness. Who knows maybe the podcast can get the ball rolling towards a resolution. It would be cool if they were labeled as unsolved though.

You ladies should attempt to do things naturally as far as Brits reactions go. I love the Morbid girls, they do things naturally as far as reactions go. I get you have to script the the research part of things but stop it there and just let things flow in between. It doesn't sound generic and it's kind of hard to listen to at times. Love the stories you do. You ladies are amazing and I really hope you take this into consideration!

The fake, scripted co-host lines with the fake reactions make this almost unbareable to listen to. Please stop thinking your listeners are too dumb to know it’s being scripted.

I knew Richard and Danielle from living in the area, and having mutual friends. one of my best friends was with them the night they disappeared. this is one of those stories you always read about, or see on TV, and you can't imagine it could happen to people you know. it's been so long and there have been so many stories and rumors, you can't remember what's true and what's fiction. some of the theories floated in circles around here have been, that Rich was somehow involved with organized crime, and they were followed, abducted and disposed of professionally. That theory doesn't make sense because if Rich was dealing with the Mob, and he owed money, or just needed to go, the mob wouldn't take him out while he was with Danielle. Anytime there seems to be a murder of an Italian guy that isn't solved they claim it's a professional "mob" hit. While there is certainly a lot of organized crime in the NJ, Philly area, it's not a big as it was in the 70s and 80s. There was also the theory that Rich owed a lot of money for gambling debts, but again, why kill him AND Danielle, when she had nothing to do with it. Also, if they killed him, they would never get the money. What I believe happened is there was some sort of accident and the truck went into one of the many bodies of water in South Jersey. They were coming home from a Bar in South Philly and the route home has many rivers, lakes and even a swamp or two. There is also several routes they could have taken home, as well as possible going back into the woods, as that is something people do around here. They could have gone off the road, their vehicle went under and they drowned. It happens more than people know. Cars are pulled out of rivers years later with bodies still in them. I just read about a 40 year missing persons case where they pulled the car out of the water and the person was inside. I don't know what happened to Rich and Danielle, but I hope their families get some answers one day. I hope Rich's Daughter finds some solace as well as Danielle's kid. It's been 16 years and I still think about Rich from time to time, especially when I see a TV or Podcast about it.

Sorry, can’t keep listening. One person is talking, the other keeps interrupting and the primary person doesn’t get to finish what she is saying. Then the subject often gets changed before the last discussion is completed. Its hard to listen to and keep up.

I like their banter as it gives me small moments to ponder my opinion or compare their responses to mine. I like their friendship and I believe their friendship IS PART of their podcast process so I'm not sure why people complain instead of finding another solo podcast. It's their formula. Welcome back Britt.
