Welcome to today's count of Omer thirty-seven. We are in a new series, Everyday, Small Harvest. We are counting to honor the days leading up to Pentecost/Shavuot. The Omer is a time of spiritual attunement and refinement. We are counting, just like the disciples... daring to trust, embrace, align, and wait for the coming harvest, as we bring in the small, everyday harvest of our inmost being. Let's allow the Holy Spirit to empower, nurture, and usher us into Jesus' Love story through His Love Letters for our reflection. Join me as we decelerate together and unLEARN to learn. Shabbat Shalom, SOULjourners! Every year, we retrace an inner journey by “Counting of the Omer.” It’s a 49-meditation and blessing of transformation within the human soul. But we’re only doing 7-days in this week leading up to Pentecost (Shavuot, in Hebrew). Tonight will be thirty-six days, which is five weeks and one day of the Omer. The Omer is a time of spiritual attunement + refinement. We are counting, just like the ancient SOULjourners who dared to trust, embrace, align, and wait for the coming harvest. Let's bring in the small, everyday harvest of our inmost being. Let's allow the Holy Spirit (Ruach) to empower, nurture, and usher us into Yeshua's Love story. Episode 19 is about looking at our belovedness in light of joy. Before we read and savor Matthew 3:17 in this Lectio Divina unLEARNing adventure, we will take an aerial view to get started and look at the context. Verse seventeen acts as the hinge for the verses that precede and follow it. This door is leading us into communion. Both sides of this door, baptisms, and wilderness will give us greater insight into our belovedness, and it will open us up to look for grace in every square inch of our lives, whether in the wilderness or not. In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to pilgrimage with me in the rhythms of Lectio Divina throughout this Lent season. In any given moment Love will address our humanity (our dirt, our ashes) and He will affirm our belovedness, unquestionably. Our belonging is deeply rooted in Jesus’ belovedness and that’s real security and assurance that we can learn to lean into and become more deeply intimate in the dust and in the delightful places of living wholeheartedly. In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to reconsider how you notice and acknowledge the gifts in your experiences with consolation and desolation. In any given moment we have the freedom to choose how we will respond and react to consolation (things that make us feel alive and embraced) and desolation (things that anger us or drain our energy). What we can learn is how to expand our capacity to remember our freedom and our belonging in both those opportunities. Join me as we decelerate together and unLEARN to learn. We're sitting down with a soul care storytime with the book, "The Three Questions", written by Jon J Muth. It's a story about a young boy who is on a pilgrimage with his three questions. The narrative is adapted from the short story with the same title authored by Count Leo Tolstoy. In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to reconsider how you invite and draw in your child or your loved one into their own soul care journey through storytelling and questioning. MOM #14 : Togetherness

MOM #14 : Togetherness

2017-12-1511:02

In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to reconsider how you invite and cultivate togetherness within and without. Your child or your neighbor may have different approaches than you, but they desire belonging just like you. This is good to remember when engaging with a difficult person. Togetherness is a mountain we must all climb in our families and in our spheres of influence. I'm identifying four togetherness enhancers and four that are blockers. Today, you're in my kitchen with my son and I eating cereal. In this unLEARNing adventure, I invite you to reconsider how to allow dreams to inspire us, no matter what, especially in the face of detours. I share about the profound perspective we can to see our dream detours in a more favorable light. Our dreams are indeed ever with us, even if we bury them. Today's 2-minute unLEARNing adventure invites us to learn to invest more in our strengths and the strengths of our children, than being fixated on the deficits, whether they're low grades, low performance, or negative behavior. Welcome to episode seven. Lent, as do many holidays (holy days), have a way of affecting many of us. I encourage you to discover and bless the rhythms that can have a grace-pace for your soul. Let's decelerate together.
Welcome to episode six. We are still anchored in Lent, but we're also celebrating the Jewish holiday of Purim, this weekend. Through Lectio Divina, we'll look at a 4-fold, divine template in Luke 22:19, and apply it to Esther's brave, yet scared encounter with God's providence, sovereignty, and control.
We are launching season two around these parts. Welcome to another cycle of holy days. We will enter into Lent and the many other Spring holidays, in order to savor the reality of our earnest attachment to our Beloved, Jesus. Because I'm a mom of eight in the trenches of everyday life, you'll often hear my infant in the background. Soul Care is about the real and unvarnished. Nevertheless, rest is part of the program.
We are coming to our last Advent breath, Love. As we come together to attend to our souls in the hustle of this time of year, we're pumping the brakes and enjoying the scenery of grace. We'll take deep breaths before, during and after our Lectio Divina time. Our focus is on the unstoppable nature of Perfect Love in an imperfect world. Love is so much more than an action, He's our Beloved God. Our Scripture is from Matthew 3:17, "And a voice came from heaven said, 'This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.'" Thankfully, the Father's affection is the same for us adopted daughters, as it is for His only Begotten Son. I will return in Spring 2017 for our second series as we fix our hearts on the Passover and the Resurrection and it's eternal implications and applications for our every moments. Shalom!
It was fun sitting down with my husband of 21 years. We're talking about continuing to date one another in order to nurture and strengthen the connection in our marriage, and how by doing so creates a stronger parenting unity. Keith also shares his heart about my beautiful imperfections in parenting our infant daughter, Emerald.
