With about three programs worth of material to present, Jim covered as much ground as he could. Here's a sample of what was shared during the first quarter-hour of the broadcast.--The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) paid almost 2 million dollars to empower transgender organizations in Guatemala. 1.5 million was spent to promote the LGBTQ+ agenda in Serbia. About 151 million went to aid terrorists in Gaza and the West Bank. Overall, Elon Musk estimates that your federal government squandered about 700 billion dollars per year on fraud and more than a trillion dollars on waste. --Elon Musk has hired a team of six software engineers between the ages of 19 and 24 as members of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). --The interim U.S Attorney for Washington, D.C., is suggesting individuals threatening employees at DOGE could be prosecuted.--Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed Tuesday that preliminary recruitment figures for the military show how interest in serving is quickly rising under President Trump.--Last Saturday President Trump declared a national emergency along the U.S./ Canada border. --On Thursday, President Trump authorized economic and travel sanctions against the International Criminal Court for targeting the U.S. and Israel.--The U.S. Department of Defense is developing plans to withdraw all U.S. troops from Syria citing some defense officials.--On Wednesday, Elon Musk vowed to end the federal government's wasteful expenditure of nearly 8.5 million last year on premium subscriptions to Politico.--Biden's U.S. Department of Agriculture sought to punish schools that did not adopt the radical LGBT agenda.
Mike Gendron is founder and director of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministry. Mike was a devout Roman Catholic for over 3 decades and was taught to rely upon the authority of the church above all else. Mike searched the Scriptures and was amazed to find that what he read in Scripture contradicted the teaching and tradition of the church he had been a part of for so long. He trusted Jesus as his Savior and now the Bible has become his sole authority in all matters of faith. Mike is the author of the books, Preparing for Eternity and Contending for the Gospel and has produced numerous videos with warnings concerning false teachings vs. the truth of the Scriptures. There are numerous concerns regarding Pope Francis. Some have pointed to his ecumenical stance. We've seen his coming together with Islam, his praise of Buddhism and promotion of liberation theology. There's his softening of the stance on homosexuality or the relaxing of rules that previously barred men with deep seeded homosexual tendencies from entering the priesthood. Then in December, Pope Francis (who has accused Israel of genocide) prayed before what was called a 'politicized' Palestinian nativity scene as the baby Jesus wasn't wrapped in swaddling clothes, but instead was wearing a keffiyeh, a symbol of Palestinian resistance. Roman Catholicism has a long history of veering from Scripture. There's their false view of Matthew 16:18 from which they derive their origin. There's purgatory, infant baptism for regeneration, transubstantiation, the selling of indulgences, the sinlessness of Mary and so much more. However, now it seems that the Pope is in some ways moving away from church tradition as well.
Dale Mason is a husband, father, grandfather, researcher and writer. Though now retired, he served two decades as a vice president at Answers in Genesis. He is founding publisher of the award-winning Answers and Kids Answers magazines. He is author of The 10-Minute Bible Journey and has produced historical research in The Forgotten George Washington Bible: Brown's Self-Interpreting Family Bible of 1792.Skeptics often try to distance God from the history of America. However, there's documented, historic proof that the skeptics are simply wrong. One example is the life of George Washington. Dale has documented such evidence in the first 100 pages of the book discussed here. For example: Learn why Washington was a true Christian and not a deist, God's protection of him during war, his effort to free the slaves that he owned, as well as Dale's answer to the Freemason controversy. Review this fascinating edition of Crosstalk that begins with Dale discussing his acquisition of an 1880's copy of the John Brown Self-Interpreting Bible from his mother. Hear how George Washington had signed on as the first subscriber for one of the earlier versions, the importance of the involvement of a circuit riding preacher known as Jacob Brush regarding the 1792 printing, and much more that Bible history buffs will enjoy!
Today we brought back a feature that we first conducted in 2017 after President Trump was inaugurated for his first term. We did it again early in the Biden presidency. This feature is called "Dear Mr. President" where listeners are encouraged to call in and share what they would say to the President of the United States if they could speak to him for 30-45 seconds. A copy of this program is being sent to the White House. We are now 2 weeks into the second Trump presidency and matters are moving at lightning speed. Jim began the program by giving an overview of what has transpired so far and then opened phone lines for the remainder.
Paul Dragu is senior editor at The New American. He is an award-winning reporter and host of The New American Daily. He is writer of Defector: A True Story of Tyranny, Liberty and Purpose. As Jim noted early in the broadcast, many of us recognize that America has been in decline for many years. The size of government, regulations, federal control over the population, spending, the cost of goods/services and other facets have increased. Then there's the capitulation to the ideas of world government-related entities. There's the weaponization of the Justice Department, the escalation of the LGBTQ+ agenda and DEI. The noose has also been tightening on our vast energy resources. This course simply isn't sustainable. So on November 5th, 2024, the majority of the nation spoke in favor of changing this scenario. Paul has just released an article expressing this titled: Rebirth of the Nation: How to Restore America. In this interview, Paul begins with an honest assessment of the first Trump administration where he explains how Trump had some individuals around him who didn't share the 'America First' agenda. He cited people such as former U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and former National Security Advisor General H.R. McMaster. There were even people in the White House who were writing op ed pieces in the New York Times saying, "I am the resistance!" Now that we have a new Trump administration, the hope is that he's learned from his earlier mistakes. However, there's still much that needs to be changed. Listen in as Paul discusses other factors including:The fall of the legacy media. The need of an American renaissance/rebirth of policies.
News from around the world, viewed from a Christian perspective. It's Crosstalk's News Round-Up and Comment broadcast. Here's a sample of what Jim shared with listeners:--In a post on social media early Thursday, President Trump criticized the control tower workers and the crew of the Black Hawk military helicopter involved in the deadly mid-air collision of the helicopter and American Airlines flight 5342 over the Potomac River Wednesday evening. --President Trump ties Biden's DEI initiative to lower standards at the Federal Aviation Administration.--Jim provided audio from Pete Hegseth, Trump's secretary of defense, as he commented on why positions such as being an air traffic controller should be merit-based. --A preliminary FAA report indicated that staffing at the air traffic control tower was not normal at the time of the jet/helicopter collision.--The internal FAA report says the controller who was handling helicopters in the vicinity on Wednesday evening was also instructing planes that were landing and departing from its runways. A supervisor combined those duties sometime before 9:30pm and allowed one controller to leave according to a person briefed on the staffing who was not authorized to speak publicly. --President Trump named a new acting administrator of the FAA and signed a memorandum that called for an "immediate assessment of aviation safety," in the wake of the tragic plane crash near Washington, D.C.--Another plane heading to Reagan National Airport almost crashed into a helicopter the night before (Tuesday evening). --A Massachusetts man was arrested and charged Monday with trying to kill Trump administration officials.
This program featured Chris Katulka, live from Israel. Chris is assistant director of North American Ministries at The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry and host of The Friends of Israel Today radio program. He is a Bible teacher, writer for Israel My Glory magazine and is author of the book, Israel Always. The release of Israeli hostages has been a step by step process that's set to take place over several weeks. Previously, seven had been released and now more have been set free. According to Chris, we could see up to seven released this week as well. He also indicated that a few of those released today were Thai workers who come to Israel to work on the farms to help with the elderly. As everyone can see, Hamas releases few Israelis while Israel has continued to release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. This shows how Israel values life while Hamas values death.Has the U.S. been funding the Palestinian Authority? What was the mood like in Israel for Holocaust Memorial Day? How would King David be ruling the people at a time like this? What does the new Trump presidency mean to Israel? You'll hear responses to these and other discussion points on this edition of Crosstalk. More InformationTo obtain a free, one-year subscription to Israel My Glory magazine, call 1-800-257-7843.
Since the November 5th election and the subsequent January 20th inauguration, a major shakeup has occurred. This shakeup is not only happening domestically, but around the world. We've seen the early results as multiple leaders from around the world traveled to Mar-a-Lago between the election and the inauguration, sensing not only a new day for America, but also for the world. While the inauguration was taking place, leaders were also gathering in Davos, Switzerland, for a meeting of the World Economic Forum. 3 days after the inauguration, President Trump spoke at the event. Jim aired the president's full address, along with questions from two of those who were on hand: Brian Moynihan, CEO of Bank of America and Ana Botin, Executive Chairman of Santander Group. Before getting to that, Jim aired audio from the World Economic Forum from one year ago. It's at this meeting that they discussed the impact of elections happening that year. For them, 2024 was the year they felt they had to watch as they talked about election risk and that depending upon who's elected, they'll have to rely on Congress and the courts. On the final day of last year's forum, a panel met to discuss the global economic outlook where Trump's return was viewed with concern. At that time there was concern by leaders about having to 'Trump proof' their economies should he win the election. There's more to take in, including breaking news, as Jim reported that President Trump announced he would sign an executive order for the Pentagon to prepare Guantanamo Bay to detain 30,000 criminal illegal aliens.
Dr. Erwin Lutzer is Pastor Emeritus of The Moody Church where he served as the senior pastor for 36 years. He is the speaker on the Running to Win radio broadcast and an award-winning author. Some of his titles include We Will Not Be Silenced, The Eclipse of God, When a Nation Forgets God, and The Cross in the Shadow of the Crescent. He's with us today discussing his book One Minute After You Die, a title with more than 700,000 copies in print. As we start the New Year, many of us look for new beginnings, new opportunities, and new resolutions. We think of vibrancy and all that we want to get accomplished during the year. Very few enter a new year thinking about death. Yet, death comes to all. It is critically important that we understand that death is not the end.As our guest today has written, "For some, death is the beginning of unending bliss. For others, it will be unending despair. Either you will be enjoying a personal welcome from Christ or you will be catching your first glimpse of gloom as you have never known it. One minute after you die, you will either be elated or terrified. And it will be too late to reroute your travel plans. Your future will be irrevocably fixed and eternally unchangeable." What can we expect one minute after we die?As we begin this New Year of 2025, it is critical for each of us to consider our own eternal destiny and to be a witness to others who also must come to this realization.
Jim began by quoting 1 Peter 5:8 which says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."Jim began this way because as he also pointed out, our culture today is inundated with films, books, toys, games and other items designed to lure and attract people into the occult. Children and teens are constantly exposed to these efforts and worsening the situation are social media phone apps and popular online programs/games featuring occult themes. This program is a warning from Marcia Montenegro. Before becoming a Christian, Marcia was involved for many years in Eastern spiritual beliefs (Hindu and Buddhist), New Age, and occult practices. She was a certified, professional astrologer who taught Astrology for several years. She served as chairperson of the Astrology Board of Examiners and president of the Astrological Society in Atlanta. She came to Christ and is now engaged in her full-time ministry, Christian Answers for the New Age. She's spoken around the country and writes on New Age and occult topics published in magazines, journals and books. She is co-author of Richard Rohr and the Enneagram Secret and is author of the book discussed on this broadcast, Spellbound: The Paranormal Seduction of Today's Kids.Marcia began by defining the occult as a set of practices that involve either an attempt to contact an invisible/supernatural being or an attempt to use or manipulate some kind of supernatural source. It can also involve reading or finding hidden or secret meaning into things.
There was more from the never ending news cycle; news that's important to be seen from a Christian perspective. Sitting in for Jim Schneider, Dalton Windsor had much to present. Here's a sample of stories that were aired:--President Trump started his day in North Carolina to survey the situation surrounding those who suffered last year due to Hurricane Helene. He will head to Los Angeles and then Nevada. --Trump said on Truth Social that Governor Newsom refused to sign the Water Restoration Declaration that was put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water from excess rain and snow melt from the north to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning in a virtually apocalyptic way.--California Democrats blocked a Republican amendment to add 1 billion dollars in wildfire prevention funding to the state's 2.5 billion dollar wildfire recovery bill during a simple procedural vote.--President Trump spoke to the World Economic Forum in Davos where he gave an America first presentation.--A news poll says 77% of Canadians want an immediate election to deal with Trump's tariff threat. --President Trump signed pardons for imprisoned pro-life Christians.--President Trump announced a purge of over 1,000 Biden appointees. --Former National Security Advisor John Bolton as well as Dr. Fauci have had their security details removed.
Mark Krikorian is a nationally recognized expert on immigration issues serving as the Executive Director of Center for Immigration Studies. They are an independent, non-partisan research organization examining and critiquing the impact of immigration on the United States. He has testified numerous times before Congress and has published articles in many outlets. On Monday, January, 20th, at 12 noon Eastern Time, immediate security changes were brought to bear on the U.S. border crisis as the open border policies of the Biden/Harris administration were brought to a decisive halt. The app used to secure appointments to enter the U.S. illegally was disabled.Hundreds of those who entered our nation illegally and that committed additional illegal acts have already been apprehended for deportation, including MS13 gang members and murder suspects. The result of all this? Fox News has reported that border encounters are said to be 35% lower than the final 3 days of the Biden/Harris administration.Mark noted that this decisive action is a refreshing change from the first Trump administration when they weren't prepared. He described that administration as like the dog who caught the car and didn't quite know how to proceed. He went on to note that because of this, it's almost better that Trump lost in 2020 because now his new administration is prepared. In fact, the nation itself is more ready to accept what Trump wants to do after seeing what Biden's anti-border administration was capable of doing.Whenever Mark appears on Crosstalk, much gets covered and this program was no exception. Mark commented on the Alien Enemies Act, the Laken Riley Act and much more.
Reverend Jim Harden is president and CEO of CompassCare Pregnancy Services in New York.Today is the 52nd anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that brought about abortion on demand. Fast forward to today and we see that according to numberofabortions.com, since that day there have been more than 66.4 million abortions in the U.S. That equals approximately 20% of the current U.S. population that's been wiped out.Yes, the Dobbs decision has been released reversing Roe, but that sent the issue back to the states. Unfortunately, as Rev. Harden pointed out, this has caused abortions to increase. As this has taken place, many states, in their attempts to regulate abortion on their own, are literally enshrining the sanctioning of taking the life of the pre-born in their constitutions. The movement against life is not only targeting the pre-born but also those who are advocates for life. This includes pregnancy care centers and those who stand outside abortion centers and plead with women not to kill their pre-born children. In fact, Reverend Harden's care center was victim to an attack and the perpetrators have yet to be caught. This program featured discussion concerning many points of interest related to this topic including lawsuits against CompassCare Pregnancy Services, audio of Senator Josh Hawley grilling attorney general nominee Pam Bondi, abortion amendment news in Virginia, aborted babies being burned to produce energy and more. Callers wrapped up the broadcast with their thoughts.
Tom DeWeese is President of American Policy Center. Tom is one of the nation's leading advocates of individual liberty, free enterprise, private property rights, personal privacy, back-to-basics education and American sovereignty and independence and protecting our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights. After his inauguration as 47th president yesterday, Donald Trump wasted no time in signing numerous executive orders. Some that were dealt with on this broadcast included the U.S. departure from the Paris Climate Treaty, declaring a national energy emergency, termination of the electrical vehicle mandate, reopening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, separation from the World Health Organization and securing our borders. Outside of those executive orders, Tom also commented on other issues that require vigilance by citizens, our elected officials, as well as the need for a clear vision by our president. After all, the global 'left' continues to use various tactics to subvert our president. For example, Tom commented on who's advising the president, the California wildfires, a controversial plan to cut sunlight in order to combat global warming, a convention of states to amend the Constitution and more.
Mat Staver is Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. Mat is a constitutional attorney with three landmark cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. These are connected to Hunter Biden's business dealings with overseas partners.Early this morning many woke up to the news that in his final hours in office, President Biden issued pardons to Anthony Fauci, retired General Mark Milley, Liz Cheney and other members of the House Select Committee on January 6th. Pardons also were given to police officers who testified before this committee.Listen to here Mat Staver's comments on today's happenings and their impact on our nation.
From the L.A. wildfires to the inauguration and much more, Jim had much to present on this edition of the Round-Up. Stories included:--Israel convened its cabinet today to vote on the hostage cease-fire deal with Hamas. While some are celebrating it as a victory for Hamas, many Israelis are remaining uneasy.--Some of the terrorists who will be released due to the Israel/Hamas hostage deal will be sent to Judea and Samaria as well as eastern Jerusalem, contrary to the promises that were made earlier to the ministers.--President Biden extended for another year the executive order declaring a state of emergency at Judea and Samaria. This order enables the imposition of sanctions on settlers whom the administration defines as violent.--The U.N. has blocked aid to Gaza in order to fake a famine.--Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass cut tens of millions from the Los Angeles Fire Department months before the county fires erupted. We now have video of numerous Los Angeles Fire Department officials warning that the steep cuts could impact disastrous response. 21 days before the Palisades fire broke out, Los Angeles fire personnel jammed into the L.A. fire commission meeting with a dire warning about the consequences of the budget cuts. --Firefighters responded only 44 minutes after a prominent Pacific Palisades resident called 9-1-1 on Tuesday morning, January 7th, by which time the Palisades fire had begun burning out of control from high winds according to local residents.--Los Angeles residents are suing a California utility company for allegedly causing the deadly Eaton fire.
News broke yesterday of a hostage release deal combined with an Israel/Hamas cease-fire to take place in 3 phases. Israel National News was reporting that Hamas was making new demands while Israel's Prime Minister accused Hamas of reneging on parts of the Gaza cease-fire agreement in a bid to extort last minute concessions. He reportedly demanded that all details be finalized before taking a vote of the security cabinet. To present the latest news on this very fluid situation was Rick DeYoung. Rick is co-host of Prophecy Today, CEO of Shofar Communications, a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute. Rick is also the son of Dr. Jimmy DeYoung Sr.Rick communicated that the hostage deal appears to be in the final stages. It's going before the Israeli cabinet tomorrow to be approved. So at this point there is excitement in the air with the hope that there's an end in sight and possibly a return to normalcy.Rick indicated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has had to "walk the line" between the pressure to make a deal and bring the hostages home while also balancing security and deterrence for Israel's overall population. That last point is a concern due to the large number of terrorists Israel would have to release under any deal. Keep in mind, as Rick also noted, Israel has been trying to end Hamas because Israel feels it no longer can be secure if Hamas is in control. So a deal could allow Hamas to retain some power.Overall, Rick believes the time is right for a deal, particularly with President-elect Trump about to take the reins in the U.S., as he's shown that he's a supporter of Israel.
Just before we get to our main topic, as announced a couple hours before the program, a hostage release deal combined with an Israel-Hamas cease fire reportedly has been reached. Donald Trump put out on Truth Social: "We have a deal for the hostages in the Middle East. They will be released shortly. Thank You." He said, "This EPIC ceasefire agreement could have only happened as a result of our Historic Victory in November, as it signaled to the entire World that my Administration would seek Peace and negotiate deals to ensure the safety of all Americans, and our Allies. I am thrilled American and Israeli hostages will be returning home to be reunited with their families and loved ones." Since being elected to a second term, Donald Trump warned that the hostages must be returned prior to his coming into office. President Trump indicated a week ago he had negotiators in Israel. At the same time, President Biden is taking credit for the announcement. On today's program we want to take you to the Senate hearing room yesterday as Pete Hegseth, the nominee for Secretary of Defense, was on the hotseat. His opening statement was an arousing one and was interrupted by protestors 3 times. Mr. Hegseth testified of his faith in Jesus Christ and the change that has taken place in his life since. Many of you may have not heard his opening and some of the questions, so we want to bring this to you.Senate switchboard number: (202) 224-3121
Alex Newman is an award-winning international freelance journalist, author, researcher, educator and consultant. He is senior editor for The New American. He's co-author of Crimes of the Educators, author of Deep State: The Invisible Government Behind the Scenes and author of, Indoctrinating Our Children to Death. He's also the founder of Liberty Sentinel. The threats against the framework of America are very real, from without and also from within. Just look at the active sabotage taking place as some are trying to subvert the stated actions of President-elect Donald Trump. Then there are those attempting to collapse our constitutional republic with their attempts at socialism, mobocracy and lawlessness. Then there's the pressure to surrender our sovereignty to international bodies for reasons of so-called, global good, while behind such efforts lurks global control. While many may choose to hit the "snooze button" and surrender to such efforts, Alex has instead chosen to sound the alarm over what's taking place. Listen to this edition of Crosstalk and hear the proof as he delves into aspects of this topic that include China's cyber program, Chinese control of the Panama Canal, China's concerns over U.S. interests in Greenland, the North American union, Venezuela, Biden and illegal immigrants, what's going on with the deep state and much more.
It's no surprise as believers that we often face challenges and trials. After all, Jesus said, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Nonetheless, sometimes our trials are very intense and this can make us feel overwhelmed. However, we're not alone in this as some of the heroes of the faith had similar feelings. Appearing on Crosstalk to relate such biblical instances to our lives today was John Stamper. John is a professional coach and former public school teacher who left his career because of the enormous conflict between his beliefs and what he was required to teach. He graduated from home school and achieved a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Special Education, P.E. and Health along with a master's in Leadership and Sports Management. He was interviewed in reference to his most recent book, Courage to Stand: Profiles of Enduring Faith.John defined courage as the willingness to act despite fear and the obstacles in front of us. So why do some stand why others crumble? Where is your walk with the Lord? Do you have the courage to be used by Him as a doer and not just a hearer? Gain insights to these and other questions as John describes 9 different profiles of people ranging from biblical heroes to modern individuals who through enduring faith experienced God's presence in profound ways.
