On a hot summer’s day in 1989, a father and son travelling through Stockton, California, discover a VHS tape left by the side of a road. When they take it home and decide to watch it, they make a disturbing discovery. The tape contains footage of a house burning to the ground and was apparently filmed by the arsonist who lit the fire.
When investigators looking into the tape hit a series of dead ends, they enlist the help of popular television series Unsolved Mysteries, and the case becomes known as that of the infamous Stockton Arsonist.

On September 5 2012, a cyclist driving through the French Alps came upon a shocking scene. Married couple Saad and Iqbal al-Hilli, along with Iqbal’s elderly mother Suhaila al-Allaf, were shot execution-style while sitting in their BMW in a secluded parking spot in the woods surrounding Chevaline. 7-year-old Zainab al-Hilli clung to life on the ground nearby, while 4-year-old Zeena al-Hilli was nowhere to be seen. A local cyclist, Sylvain Mollier, was also fatally shot in the brutal killing spree.
An international investigation quickly raised more questions than it did answers. What were the victims doing in this isolated area? Had they been targeted as part of some sinister activity or were they killed at random by a lone psychopath?

For Marea Yann, two things mattered most in life - family and community. When the 69-year-old was found violently bludgeoned to death in her Healesville home, the small Victorian town was left shaken. It seemed impossible that anyone would want to hurt this doting grandmother and dedicated volunteer worker. But as investigators learned more about Marea’s life, it quickly became clear that Marea had been living in fear of one person in particular.

This was disappointing. A very poor quality episode. Short, low stakes and uninteresting.
Worst episode in memory. What on earth was the point of this mainly visual episode -- it's like buying an audio recording of a ventriloquist ffs. And if I get asked to "support the show by listening" I'll make a point of not doing that
⭕𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛➤𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗟𝗢𝗔𝗗➤𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘➤👉https://www.justhd.online
didnt hear any weird music just the normal atmospheric music every ep has
I wish there were quick recap whenever live audio is played. I didn't understand a single word from that phone call.
kinda weird actually being happy about a mafia hit.
What's the weird music in the background repeating?? Very hard to listen to the story
Guilty or not. Anytime the cops ask you to be hypnotized? Not only should you get an attorney, you should of had one awhile ago.
It's RARE when I struggle to make it through an episode. Something about the way this poor girl was treated, how people thought she wasn't even human got to me. What I heard makes me hope for some kind of hell, cause there's a special place reserved for the people in this story. How do you grow up thinking this was ok? Parents who raise monsters are responsible for it's actions.
Aside from everything that makes these people total monsters 'Jahn Schkla' is the ugliest name I've ever heard.
The serial predator who perpetually lies was sentenced to a treatment program. Oh?! It didn't work?! He continued assaulting children? Shocking.
I could not get into this story. Hard to follow and too drawn out.
bad day?
Excellent episode. Probably the best overview of the whole 'silk road' saga.
FUCK Casefile/Casey has changed. I truly miss the....... Monotone, not so polished episodes. EVERY podcast I loved SUCKS after it's full of ads and OVER editing/scriptung.
wow this guy was caught and released so many times I lost count. His life routine was assaulting someone, spend a few months in prison, assault someone else, back to prison, etc. Why would he stop? Nothing much happens when he destroyed someones life. should have been disposed of the first time
He says Melissa had no idea when he snuck out, but then he says,'we' got into his house. Not just a liar, but a bad liar.
That was a great episode of killing her kids.Has she gained a leffield?Great story guy. You're one of the better podcasts out here
very good ep
yet another recent case file with with 90% speculation and no conclusion
