Johnson was born and raised in a military home with strong moral beliefs.  Being the son of a retired Sergeant Major and an assistant school teacher turned Pastor in a small town in Lumberton, NC high expectations were placed on him. Soon after leaving college Charles followed the footsteps of his mother and started pastoring a small church.  That small church in Raleigh, NC began to grow but Charles was silently suffering. He did not understand how God could be blessing the members of his church and even his close friends but he struggled to find the success he was looking for. Until one day Charles had what he calls an “argument with God” where he challenges God to tell him what the problem was and how he was going to fix it.  Charles says that late one night after yelling and screaming at God, Charles got the revelation of a lifetime. God said to him “Charles this is all your fault, as you think in your heart so are you!” After that night Charles started on a journey to success that has been phenomenal from traveling across the world to speak in Canada, Bahamas and Dubai to speaking at universities, colleges, corporate events, national speaking events and business networking events around the US. This week on the 79th Episode on the Walk By Faith Podcast we highlight Yanna Spellman a Full Spectrum Doula serving the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT).⠀ ⠀ She started the BCBW Network because she realized there weren’t any organizations that connected birthworkers of faith, as well as birth workers of color. In the beginning stages of her Doula practice, she encountered quite a few families who hadn’t hired a doula until late in their pregnancy because they couldn’t find one that supported their views and could relate to them. After having this experience multiple times, Yanna decided to create a space where all birth workers who are Black and Christian can be found in one place. I also wanted this to be a space where Black Christian Birthworkers can come together and network, connect, share resources, learn, and grow from each other. On Episode 74 we sit down with Carlos Zamora AKA C2SIX. He went from being a gangster rapper to building the Kingdom as a Catholic/Christian Hip-Hop Evangelist/Apologist.  During the late 80′s and early 90′s, his hometown of Fort Worth, TX reported the highest overall crime and murder rate per capita in the US. It was very easy to fall into a gangster mentality and lifestyle. He became involved in gangs, drugs, partying, and many other aspects of that lifestyle. As a means of venting and an escape, he began to write and record “gangsta” rap. He began pursuing a hip-hop career with a local record label and later formed the group Southern Kappin' Soldiers. While with SKS, he toured frequently and shared the stage with many major recording artists such as Bone Thugz n Harmony, Cypress Hill, SPM, and many more. It was at an “all ages” gangtsa rap concert that he understood the impact his music had on his young audience. Christ pierced his heart and convicted him of his sin. This was the beginning of his conversion and his journey home. Though C2Six was born and raised a Catholic, he never took it further than going through the motions. Having a lack of understanding of his faith, he was led out of the Church. At one point, his outlook was anti-Catholic and began church hopping in a search for truth, a truth that would eventually lead him back to his Catholic roots. He strives to be true and authentic in both his ministerial efforts of promoting the Gospel and his artistic endeavors as a hip-hop artist. Together with the group FoundNation, he helps spread the message through the arts of hip-hop under the spiritual guidance of Father Masseo Gonzales aka El Padrecito, a Franciscan Priest from Richmond, CA. He is not afraid to speak out and be true to the Catholic faith and the Magesterium of the Catholic Church. He lives in Fort Worth, TX with his lovely wife of 18 years with his 2 beautiful children. He has a passion for working with under privileged, at-risk youth, troubled teens, gang members, and prison ministry. On  Episode 73, We tackle #Fibroids and how it impacts African American  Women specifically.  Dr. Ngheim is an interventional radiologist who specializes in women's health in Maryland. In particular, I focus on educating women about uterine fibroids and creating awareness. He educates his patients about the non-surgical options for fibroid treatment as many of their obgyns may not mention that to them. Uterine fibroids are a common gynecologic condition among women and the primary reason for hysterectomy for US women. Over their lifetime, about 80 percent of black women and 70 percent of white women will develop fibroids.  Fibroids, also called leiomyomata or myomas, are noncancerous tumors that develop within the muscle tissue of the uterus (also called the womb). He also took note of the many articles that shared the statistics of minorities in the STEM industry. Roy’s hope is that through STEMusic, STEM will become a common term that all multicultural students understand and it inspires them to take a chance on a STEM career journey. You are now listening to the 60th Episode on the Walk By Faith show with Toni Hall.  We explore Toni's collegiate journey as well as her next steps right after she graduates the Prairie View A&M University.  Born in Houston TX, Toni Hall is a rising graduating Senior at the Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View TX. She's majors in Communication with a concentration in Mass Communication and minor's in Marketing. During her time at Prairie View, she has been an active leader on campus as well as in the community. Toni serves as President of the National Association of Black Journalist at her school and is a proud member of the National Communication Honor Society Lambda Pi Eta. She also serves as an executive board member of the Zeta Gamma chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority incorporated. Prior to IRTS, Toni was an intern with Altria and was place in Atlanta GA and worked as a Territory Sales Manager. She also interned at KTRK ABC 13 in Houston TX as an assignment desk intern. She also participated in the piolet Media Sales Bootcamp with the National Associations of Broadcaster Education Foundation. Her ultimate career goal would combine her love of media with her marketing and advertising experience. This past summer, Toni participated as an Ad Sales Intern with the Weather Channel.
