Penn State QB Sean Clifford talked about his favorite throw, the back shoulder fade and how well he worked with the receivers while in Pasadena. He also learned a lot from NFLPA teammate in Louisiana running back Chris Smith II. Speaking of Chris Smith II, the Mississippi native is writing a book on his life in Mississippi & Louisiana. He feels everyone has a story to tell whether you make it big or not. He’s also spoke with writer of “All American” and former Oregon linebacker Spencer Paysinger. The former Super Bowl-winning linebacker gave Smith II some advice on how to structure his ideas & storytelling process. He was teammates with potential 1st round pick in offensive guard O’Cyrus Torrence. He & Torrence were roommates before the now-Florida Gator and current Gators head coach Billy Napier left. Rose Bowl-winning QB Sean Clifford has enjoyed his time in Pasadena, can’t wait to join his former Nittany Lion teammates in the NFL. He also wasn’t surprised LB’s Micah Parsons & Odafpe Oweh ran sub 4.3 40s at their pro days. Follow Kenny at @Ozogrande and Touchdowns and Tangents @Tds_Tangents
The National practiced first. Clemson wide receiver Joseph Ngata is a big-bodied vertical threat. He made some great contested catches but felt he could’ve dominated more. Record-setting Louisville QB Malik Cunningham spoke on his performance at practice, his Louisville legacy, following Lamar Jackson’s production & the pro-style concepts of Louisville’s offense. Walter Payton Award winner Lindsey Scott Jr set records after transferring from Nicholls State by way of LSU. In his only season at Incarnate word he lead the school on its deepest playoff run ever, one game shy of the FCS National Championship Game. He threw for 60 touchdowns & ran for 11 more. He spoke on the pro style concepts of the UIW offense and how the production isn’t due to gimmicks or a multitude of bubble screens. FCS Second-Team All American Linebacker/nickel Marte Mape of Sacramento State is from Hawthrone, Calif, attended Hawthrone high & also won Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year. Mape spoke on what it means to be one of the few players from Hawthorne to make it this far to Pasadena & the NFL in general. He also stated why so many kids from Hawthrone don’t go to Hawthrone High & how local kids branch out & go other places. He finished up with a look back on his Sacramento State career & how he’s handling defensive adjustments throughout the week.

Kenny covered USC’s pro day on April 5th & All-American receiver Drake London’s individual pro day on April 15th. Drake London didn’t run his 40 because he didn’t start running until a week before the NFL Combine at about six miles per hour from his fractured ankle in October. He field work was great and he is pretty much guaranteed to be a first round pick. Drake Jackson could go from the first to third round but mostly 1st-2nd is his range due to this being a heavy edge rusher class. 1. Offensive lineman Jalen McKenzie 2. Cornerback Chris Steele 3. Edge rusher Drake Jackson 4. Cornerback Isaac Taylor-Stuart 5. Safety Isaiah Pola-Mao 6. Running Back Keontay Ingram 7. Wide receiver Drake London

Derek Boyd II carries a 4.0 gpa, the Lawndale offense on his back and the weight of the South Bay’s pain on his back & in his heart. That pain and responsibility only fuels him to be the best player & man he can be as he commits to play football at the University of Hawaii under the guidance of Hawaii legend and new head coach Timmy Chang. His story is the reason this platform exists. We hope you enjoy this interview as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.
