Ep 13 Bernadette Mc Keown

Ep 13 Bernadette Mc Keown

2021-11-2402:44:37

Today's conversation is with my own and only mother, Bernadette Mc Keown.  Bernadette studied Philosophy and Psychology, before pursuing HDip training to become a primary school teacher. Bernadette is a retired primary school teacher, and one of the most impressive people at engaging with young people that I have ever witnessed. Widowed at age 42, Bernadette went on to raise 4 successful children, and continues to care for them and her grandchildren.  Without Bernadette's love, care, and kindness, I wouldn't be here today. I wouldn't be able to do any of the things I do. I am in awe of my mother's achievements, her wisdom, and her boundless love. This boundless love is on display every day, and shines through in this conversation. For all the wonderful things you do, thank you Mam. I'd love to see your reaction to this conversation. Please reach out to me on Instagram @allaboutYEW, comment underneath this episode on the All About YEW YouTube channel, message me on Twitter @PatsPsychMSc. I can relay all messages for Bernadette to her. To support me and the All About YEW podcast you can donate to my Paypal. *This episode has been rectified and replaced with the correct recording. Apologies to those who wished to hear the second part but couldn't* We can all be too hard on ourselves. Myself and my 3rd guest, David Smith, are no different. After having a great conversation about David's emotional wellbeing, we whipped ourselves for being too serious, and decided to record a second chat titled Episode 4.5. After editing the conversation we felt that we had in fact had a fruitful conversation on both occasions, and that both chats made for a good insight into David's emotional wellbeing and his philosophy on life. In Episode 4.5 we discuss “gallows humour”, my sensitive side, crying, bereavement and more. Please send your feedback on this conversation to the YEW Facebook page. It is with your insight that the YEW project can reach its fullest potential. Check out theseasonticket.ie to see David's sports journalism.
