Description

Welcome to The Jelly: creative hustle for anxious minds.

Because I hate donuts. I don't have time for the donut, and I don't think you do either, so I like to get right to the jelly. I get right to the point about what stops creative potential from seeing the light of day. I want to help you get your creative magic out of your head and into the world, where you can share it. Because the world needs it. I am a spark-finder. A creativity hustler. I know you're nervous, let's get through it. Let's create things.

Why Self-Care is Vital for Sustained Creativity in Art and in Life... science, mind-body, stress, and how pain hides in our bodies. Why we need to understand our own stories and work toward healing them. How good that is for the creative life. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
I’m in the shower with things to say. Don’t judge me. And don’t stay stuck, there’s a whole world out there. Root in to right now - and keep dreaming forward. So much Love. xoxo --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
Quick thoughts on the road... don’t wait. Create. Go away COVID. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
Sunday rambles while running errands. New college students or starting over in a career in mid-life - detailed plans vs. one choice and a vision. Faith. Surrender. Choices. Just start. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
Hi, hi, hi, hi, hi!  So, I took a year off.  Or two. I figure I'll do this like a cable television show, 4-6 episodes every 18 months or so. It's been a year and ups and downs and twists and turns and in this house, we're all still here, thank God. If you are too, I've got survival tips. Starting with getting your mind organized for greater creative flow. Clutter seems to follow the anxious - especially busy parents - and we need to make a plan. The Jelly is back.  PS... I've missed you too. xoxo --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
Honoring Veterans and being grateful for their service; while abhorring war. Loving my country and the American Dream, and the pain of knowing people have fought and died for these freedoms. Using conflict, paradox, and pain for art. Go to the pain and make, make, make. xo --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
I'm back after a few weeks off and I'll tell you why... I got burnt out and had to recalibrate my hectic schedule, among other things. And I feel so much freer, energetically lighter, and in a much better mood...which allows so much more creativity back in. We can't do it all, which is why priorities are so important. xo --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
I've been through the ringer, lately. Nothing catastrophic, but enough to make me implode, in little bits. This week I dive into that stuck mindset, when the desire to withdraw from it all, to curl up and disappear, to renounce your art (!), is so strong. And how to ease through it, without quitting. Grown up words. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
It must've been the moon: In this jam sesh I go over my time, I get way off script, and I muse and tell stories about my life. I get a bit personal. I reminisce. I also pick up the guitar and sing a lil piece of a song from the past. And I've fallen...into jazz... and I can't get up. My next thing? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
I was expecting a guest for this one, but it fell through as things do. Everything about this week has been unexpected, including a sprained ankle, an air cast, and a lot of rescheduling... but here we are. This week, I improvise: we talk about setbacks and roadblocks and I melt into a short guided meditation to ditch the mental baggage and free up some space. Don't miss this one if you're feeling stressed. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
My first ever podcast! Here, I talk about topics fresh in my mind: writer's block and procrastination. Both common for creatives. This is reality: I have laundry going, a few quiet moments, a Mac, a mic, and lots of real-life insight to share. Ways to unblock creativity, with real tips, why we procrastinate, and how to move forward and produce something real and tangible. Anxious people are often the most creative, if we can get out of our heads. I'm here to help you do that because I really do care. The world needs what you've got. Let's get creative. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejelly/support
