On this week's episode, Remy and Emily dive right into the Scoop Du Jour, a new TikTok trend where people edit themselves to be "100 pounds less" to use as inspiration for weight loss. They talk about why these A.I. images might be even more dangerous than the "thinspo" from our Tumblr days. Why do we torture ourselves with all these filters in the first place? Later, they answer a Dear DST email from a listener who had to attend a talk by David Sinclair at a work conference about his scientific work around avoiding aging. The listener was outraged by his advice to live on 2 meals (with no snacks) and a huge roster of supplements. Is she right to feel triggered? Would the audience's reaction have been different if it was a woman suggesting this limited diet? Plus, Remy and Emily talk about whether or not it's worth it to live such a restricted life, even if it does provide longevity. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

First, they dive into this week’s Scoop du Jour—the news about Whitney Port and her husband’s concerns that she’s “too thin.” She is now prioritizing her health, but it begs the question: As someone’s romantic partner, when does it become your business to comment on their weight? Which brings us to our next topic: this week’s Dear DST. In it, a listener explains that her husband has gained a lot of weight in the last few years and he’s not happy with how he looks or feels. She is wondering how to talk about these concerns with him in a healthy, non-judgmental way. They wrap up by discussing what she should say, and how to support your partner when you just want the best for them. something about this Tanya Zuckerbrot lady rubs me the wrong way. it feels more like she's selling a product than she is advocating for a healthy lifestyle. also calling major BS that this isn't restrictive--this diet (weight loss method, not philosophy *cue eyerolling*) is restrictive AF. do appreciate the interviewer poking some holes (though she keeps getting interrupted and talked over, unfortunately).
