Today's guest on Tattoo Talk is Hannah Wolf owner of Occult tattoo and gallery in Oakland California, she's a very accomplished tattoo artist with 17 years experience. In that time she's seen tattooing go from completely unregulated to what it is today and has an interesting perspective on where it should go from here. Hannah is also the author of the new book "The Science of Tattooing" which offers answers to some of the more complicated questions when it comes to our craft and it's relation to biology, physiology and chemistry. This is an important contribution to our industry and I suggest it for tattoo artists of all experience levels. Read more about the science of tattooing and buy your copy of the book here: http://thescienceoftattooing.com Please share this interview with other tattoo artists --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bryanbriggs/support

This is an interview conversation I had with my new friend Newz, award winning black and grey artist and owner of "Dynamic studios" a bustling 7 artist shop in West Canada, about Specializing, traveling the world doing conventions, getting sponsored, owning a shop in Kelowna, keeping artists busy, giving back to the community, social media management, automation, networking and so much more. Pull up a chair and enjoy! Thank you for supporting Tattoo Talk. Tune in next week I'll be continuing this interview series with another great guest. The one hundred client goal. Establishing yourself as a local expert. Private studios vs old school shops. Nightmare shop owners that leach off their artists, 50% is bullsh*t, how you could be taking off 265 days a year and thriving, grooming clients over several years, specializing, denying the "just to pay the bills" work, gaining mass interest and funneling it into Consultations then appointments. How to stay busy tattooing year around. Building up clientele. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bryanbriggs/support

Today's question is "how did I know when I was ready to open a private studio." This is just my anecdotal experience and my personal philosophy not everyone always agrees but Im an open book regardless because there were many people who helped me along the way and I just see sharing information as paying things forward. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bryanbriggs/support
