They were the first to play bands such as Metallica and Guns and Roses, and were very supportive of the local music scene, giving local bands an opportunity to get their material played, get interviewed, and have their shows announced on the air. I recently viewed this movie, and it was absolutely wonderful. The filmmakers did a wonderful job of re-creating the Hammerjacks experience-the biggest nightclub on the east coast in the 80s and 90s.
