Description

Welcome to Our Cheeky Days Podcast, a new kind of parenting podcast, where we dive into all the messy of parenting life, leave perfection behind, and embrace the joy amidst the chaos! Just think of us as your virtual mom's group; a meeting place to come just as you are, grab your coffee (or matcha tea) and join us for conversations about how we can live (and parent) outside the box! We’re talking with moms and women about how we can show up every day courageously to raise littles and intentionally cultivate kindness, curiosity, gratitude, diversity, empathy, courage, joy and more in our lives

We're diving into diversity with Melissa Martinez. She joins us on this episode to share her unique perspective on diversity as an immigrant, mom, and teacher. Melissa shares personal stories and experiences from her life and together we talk about stepping out of our comfort zone, the importance of cultivating empathy, how we can empower our little ones to embrace their own diversity and uniqueness, and ways we can expose and teach our littles about the diversity of others.
Welcome Y'all! We're back this week and diving into diversity with Kylie Smith Clayborne. She's a mom and founder of Wee Rascals, a tee shirt company that inspires children with tales of true heroism, sparks their curiosity and connects them with their own possibilities. Kylie and I talk about how Wee Rascals can spark conversations of diversity with littles, her life as a foster mom, and the many ways she exposes her littles ones to diversity... plus we talk about our never ending love for Mr. Rogers and how he inspires us in life, work, and as a moms.
Hi Y'all! In this episode we dive into Diveristy with Evi Triantafyllides, the founder of World Wide Buddies. In this episode we talk about approaching diversity through learning about other cultures, through identifying similarities and difference, and by seeing diversity of all types (not just race and/or religion). We also talk about curiosity, play, perspective, and bias, and how each play a role when talking about, learning about, and teaching our little ones about diversity.
In this episode we're starting our diversity conversations with Quiana Agbai of HarlemLovebirds.com. We talk about courageous conversations, and Quiana's resource website Like2Action.com. Then we delve into the various aspects of diversity and how we we can begin exposing our kids to diversity from books, to tactile experiences, to foundational conversations, to getting involved in community, to the color-blind approach, to the importance of libraries and librarians, to pushing past the uncomfortable, and exploring diversity beyond black and white. Plus we give 3 practical ways we can start diving into diversity today with our littles.
HiY'all! Welcome to Our Cheeky Days Podcast, our meeting place. This is our very first episode, it's our welcome and our introduction, and I'm sharing our hopes and our dreams for this podcast and for the community of parents and littles listening! We're leaping into the messy and embracing the challenging and the complex to lay those foundations for our littles. And we're going to dive into a variety of topics with moms and women from all over. Some of the conversations may push us out of our comfort zones or make us feel awkward, some may have us nodding our heads and shouting YAS, and some may just cause us to pause and think about them, but my hope is that every episode sparks conversation, and connection, and a place to come vulnerably and meet in the messy without feeling judged or alone.
