How do we make flying in a Helicopter Safe? A deep dive into the history of the vehicle, what makes these things fly, how do we make it safe and what can go wrong. We take a look at the N72EX helicopter that held NBA MVP Kobe Bryant, his daughter and 7 others. This tragedy is what sparked the research that went into this episode and I did my best to stick to the facts and try to focus on the situation with an engineering lens. What do engineers need to look at in the future to make this mode of vehicle even safer? We go a little technical in this one as well so if you're curious about some of the complexities and systems involved then this is the episode for you. SHARE this episode if you agree that more safety should be considered for this mode of transport. Cyber Security Vulnerability Assessments give industry the opportunity to know where they may have weaknesses in their system. Engineers who design solutions try to look at things with many lenses such as safety, but security is now another aspect that should be considered even more than it used to be. As someone who has made these assessments in the critical infrastructure space it has been interesting to take this birds eye look at systems and considering the unique problems being faced in OT environments. Visit this page for understanding differences between IT and OT environments when it comes to cyber security. This episode breaks down some steps and what is being looked for during one of these assessments and we look at what lessons we can learn and apply to the real world.
