Description

Comments, and opinions about data, data storage, cloud computing, and modern IT infrastructures. Recorded whenever and wherever I can, published on an irregular basis, directly from the field without editing and while things are happening. A disorganized and unstructured format of very short 5-minute episodes that are easy to consume while on the move.

Last week I attended HPE Discover in Las Vegas and I wanted to share with you a few thoughts about the company, its products and strategy. But this is just a short recording... Stay tuned for a full Voices in Data Storage episode (on GigaOM) to get  all the info you may want to know about HPE Primera, the new tier-0 platform launched during the event.

I recorded this episode while driving (sorry about the audio quality, 100% hands free though!) and talked about my expectations for #VeeamON, HPE buying Cray, and the webinars about #dataprotection and #hyperconvergence that I'll be hosting later this week. Enjoy the listen!
A quick take about Cohesity acquiring Imanis Data and Nutanix entering the secondary data storage market.  Data management for structured and unstructured data is one of the hottest topics in the IT industry now. If you like to learn more about unstructured data management please check out my work on Juku.it and GigaOm.com, or join me for a webinar that I will host on 21/May for GigaOm, "Unstructured Data Management: A New Way of Fighting Data" sponsored by Komprise. here the link to sign up.
