The absence of empathy and understanding are sufficient.” Charles M. Blow“The opposite of anger is not calmness, it’s empathy.” Mehmet Oz“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”― Edmund BurkeEmpathy is the ability to feel what the other person is feeling. It is to experience their emotions. It is the ability to put yourself in the other person’s shoes in a big and meaningful way. Emotional intelligence is the ability to manage your own emotions, as well as the emotions of others.-----This episode is powered by PodDecks - Pod Decks are unique interview questions and episode starting prompts in the palm of your hand. After all, it's yours! But take the time to look at situations from other people's perspectives. * Pay attention to body language – Perhaps when you listen to someone, you cross your arms, move your feet back and forth, or bite your lip. This body language  tells others how you really feel about a situation, and the message you're giving isn't positive! Learning to read body language can be a real asset in a leadership role, because you'll be better able to determine how someone truly feels. This gives you the opportunity to respond appropriately.* Respond to feelings – You ask your assistant to work late – again. And although he agrees, you can hear the disappointment in his voice. So, respond by addressing his feelings. Tell him you appreciate how willing he is to work extra hours, and that you're just as frustrated about working late. If possible, figure out a way for future late nights to be less of an issue (for example, give him Monday mornings off).“No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.” – Theodore Roosevelt“Yet, taught by time, my heart has learned to glow for other’s good, and melt at other’s woe.” – Homer“Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.”- Simone WeilThanks for joining us on Inspired to Greatness, please check back with us each and every week for fresh tips and new guests. Consider these suggestions:* Write down your plan for improvement.* Briefly think about your past successes.* Read books that promote self-motivation.“The best motivation is self-motivation. The guy says, ‘I wish someone would come by and turn me on.’ What if they don’t show up? Hello everyone, welcome to Inspired To Greatness… Today we have a great show all about Time Management, and we are joined by wonderful folks, Dana and David Hagstrom. They tell us their story and we chat about how they are helping online businesses, how to plan for retirement, and what a spider taco might be like!If you want to make good use of your time, you’ve got to know what’s most important and then give it all you’ve got.Lee IacoccaTime is money.
Benjamin Franklin -It’s interesting to me that I’ve used this quote so often, as millions of other people do, I’m sure, and never knew it was a Benjamin Franklin quote. And I also thought about how Time is like money as I was show prepping… what’s interesting to me is not the ways that time is LIKE money (you can spend it or trade it)… but the main difference. Money you can lose or gain… I can always go out and make more money; but time… once it’s gone, it’s gone. And we spend so much time chasing money, that I think people really have lost the value of time.GUEST INFO:David & Dana HagstromWebsite: http://davidndana.comOn FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/AskDavidnDanaOn Twitter: https://twitter.com/DavidnDanaOn YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/AskDavidnDanaOn Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/DavidnDana  Links we mentioned for them - http://davidndana.com/ideal - retirement plannerhttp://davidndana.com/time - time management toolTool to Try:Rescue Time: Track the time you spend on your computer and online - https://www.rescuetime.com/rp/ITGPodcast-----This episode is powered by PodDecks - Pod Decks are unique interview questions and episode starting prompts in the palm of your hand. Franklin Field— Understanding the value of time and the importance of priorities is vital for the success of any person or business. If you don’t know how valuable time is you will waste it; and if you don’t have a set of priorities you won’t know how to spend the time you have. We are only given a finite amount of time in this life. You get to decide, for the most part, how you spend that time. Each day you decide what you are trading that time for… and when that day is over it’s gone, all the only thing left in it’s place is what you traded that day for. Make sure you trade your days for something worthwhile. Thanks for joining us on Inspired to Greatness, please check back with us each and every week for fresh tips and new guests. Hey Everyone, I am VERY excited about this episode; which is the start of a 6 episode series. But FIRST: I want to apologize for a few little audio issues in the show, we are recording remotely, due to Covid-19, and the internet was not holding up its end of things today... it's not much, and it's only a few little spots, but I do apologize for the issues.Emotional Intelligence:the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.According to Daniel Goleman , an American psychologist who helped to popularize emotional intelligence, there are five key elements to it:* Self-awareness.* Self-regulation.* Motivation.* Empathy.* Social skills. In this episode we will take a look at emotional intelligence overall... on the next 5 shows, we will discuss each of the 5 elements of Emotional Intelligence!“Use pain as a stepping stone, not a campground.” —- Alan Cohen“Whatever is begun in anger, ends in shame.” —- Benjamin Franklin“We are dangerous when we are not conscious of our responsibility for how we behave, think, and feel.” -— Marshall B. But the functions of intellect are insufficient without courage, love, friendship, compassion, and empathy.” -Dean KoontzA leader is a dealer in hope. -Napoleon BonaparteEmotional intelligence trumps IQ all the time... you can learn skills and learn how to use tools... but it’s vastly more difficult to learn how to not be a jerk. In decades past it was the alpha male, they type a personality, the ultra-aggressive people that were successful... that’s just how it was, but in today’s society, having empathy, caring about others and their well being is what wins. Thanks for joining us on Inspired to Greatness, please check back with us each and every week for fresh tips and new guests. ITG #18 - Hard Work

2020-04-2701:07:04

Welcome to Inspired to Greatness, we are all about Inspiration, Motivation, and being Great!Today we are talking about HARD WORK!"I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." ~ Thomas Jefferson, former President of the United StatesGuest Info:Chad & Josh from Deluxe Roofinghttps://www.deluxeroofingdfw.com/Business Tip: Make a top 5 list:Make a list of 5 things that you WILL do every day. 5 things that will make you a better person, a better business owner, a better athlete, whatever you want to be… 5 things EVERY DAY. You don’t skip, you don’t put it off, you DO it!Tool to Try:Inigo Digital Business Cards - https://inigoapp.com/I know the price of success: dedication, hard work and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen. ~ Frank Lloyd Wright, architect and writerTalent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is hard work. ~ Stephen King, American authorIt’s not about money or connection — it’s the willingness to outwork and outlearn everyone. ~ Mark Cuban, American investorChop your own wood and it will warm you twice. ~ Henry Ford, American industrialist
Hard work doesn’t just get you to success… hard work is also its own reward. There is a sense of pride in work completed. Imagine cleaning out your garage… that is often quite a job.  It’s hard, usually takes a while… but when it’s done you stand there smiling with your hands on your hips looking at your clean garage.  If you want to reach your defined level of success or build something worth building then you have to work hard… you have to work like you are trying to climb out of a bottomless pit like it’s life or death. Thanks for joining us on Inspired to Greatness, please check back with us each and every week for fresh tips and new guests. ITG #17 - Building Success

Welcome to the Inspired To Greatness Podcast... Today we are talking about BUILDING SUCCESS!! This was probably one of my most favorite episodes we've ever done... if you want to get FIRED UP then give it a listen!Quotes for our Topic: ( Building Success)"Opportunities don't happen. You create them."-- Chris Grosser“Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm."-- Winston Churchill“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to meet it!” – Jonathan WintersGUEST INFO: - Tony Perez - SOLID Real Estate Services - 682-233-0317- Tanya J Miller - TalkWithTanya - Tanyajmiller.comBOOK TO READ:Mind Matters - Tanya J Miller TIP:Give away FREE content this year!TOOL: www.Slidebot.ioSuper cool and easy presentation maker!-------“Failure defeats losers, failure inspires winners.” – Robert T. Kiyosaki“Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle." – Napoleon Hill"If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs." – Dhirubhai Ambani, founder, Reliance Industries“Don't settle for average. Bring your best to the moment. Then, whether it fails or succeeds, at least you know you gave all you had. We need to live the best that's in us.” —Angela BassettDreams don’t just appear, they are built!Success is not given, it is earned! You can define your success in many ways, but the only way to FEEL success is to give your ALL! 2nd place, when you have given it your absolute best, feels way better than 1st place with little effort! Because you know you have done everything you can do! Everything in your life is “your fault”. Every win, every loss, every mountain, and setback is yours to embrace and own. Once you own it all then you are the only one that can change it... blaming others for your setback and challenges only takes the power for success away from you and gives it to someone or something else. Take responsibility for everything, good and bad, that happens to you and the success feels much better... you KNOW that it was all you, you made it happen, your work earned your success. Thanks for joining us on Inspired to Greatness, please check back with us each and every week for fresh tips and new guests.
