"The Escape Artist" Short Trek review. The final Short Trek prior to the season premiere of Star Trek: Discovery, "The Escape Artist" dropped on Thursday, Jan. 3rd on CBS All Access and Space. CraveTV got it Jan. 4th. Written by Mike McMahan (now the creator of Star Trek: Lower Decks), and directed by Rainn Wilson (who also stars as Harry Mudd), the episode deals with Mudd trying to reason with a Tellarite bounty hunter. Insurrection memories. The ninth Star Trek film, Insurrection, premiered on Friday, Dec. 11th, 1998 in theaters across the United States. The last Star Trek film to debut at #1 at the U.S. box office prior to the 2009 reboot film, the film centers around the Ba'ku and Picard and the Enterprise trying to end a forced relocation of those people to protect the Federation. Reviews were mixed, and fan acceptance varies.
