She also serves as Senior Editor at The Good Book Company.  It's easy to think that women have got the raw end of the deal—especially when it comes to our bodies. On Saturday, the 25th of January, 300 women from 32 churches throughout London attended Co-Mission Women's Day, a morning of Bible teaching, worship and time together. Today, we hear the first talk from Linda Trevitt, Women’s Worker at Christ Church Earlsfield, on Luke 15 entitled “The Motivation to Share Your Life."
The heart of the cross is penal substitutionary atonement. But what does that mean exactly, and why do many theologians object to this doctrine? Steve Jeffrey is the Minister of Emmanuel Evangelical Church in north London. He helped write a book on this topic - Pierced for our Transgressions. He unpacks this doctrine for us by looking back to the Old Testament for clues to this pattern embedded all throughout scripture. Don't forget- early bird tickets for REVIVE 2020 are available now at co-mission.org/revive
Today on the Co-Mission Podcast we hear from Jason O'Shea, a missionary for London City Mission in Lewisham. He and his wife Tayo run Operation Forgiveness, an outreach program for school children that looks to tackle the knife crime epidemic in London. This issue is directly affecting our churches and communities across our city. We need to pray.

The Co-Mission podcast is back with all new talks from our annual Bible festival - REVIVE. Check your feed over the coming weeks for Big Top talks from Kevin DeYoung, Yannick Christos-Wahab and Jason Roach, as well as seminars from speakers including Rachel Jones, Jason O'Shea, Richard Perkins and Steve Jeffery. New episodes every Tuesday and Thursday through July and August.
One of our most popular seminars from REVIVE 2018 was "Is Your Gospel White and Middle Class?" presented by Felix Aremo, pastor at Brixton Local Church, and Alex Brito, pastor at Mosiac Multicultural Church. Their seminar brought up key and uncomfortable issues about how the church can present a singular culture that makes it irrelevant and inaccessible to those from minority cultures. Felix recorded his part in the Co-Mission Studio, which we are sharing here in a special edition of the Co-Mission Podcast.  Felix wrote more on this topic in the summer 2018 issue of Co-Mission Articles- you can read it here: https://co-mission.org/article/building-truly-diverse-gospel-communities/ How did you find this special episode of the podcast? We would love to hear what you think: email us at podcast@co-mission.org.
