Many of us have phrases that we are repeating in our heads over and over again that are not only healthy, but lies that we are believing in about ourselves. We don’t think much of this because it feels normal. But I want to encourage you today to listen closely to the thoughts and phrases in your mind that you are saying about yourself and ask yourself, are these healthy thoughts and are they really true?In this episode, I'm sharing 5 main lies I’m removing from my vocabulary right now. And maybe this will encourage you to take an inventory of what your thinking about and telling yourself because maybe you have a few of your own that need removing or refining as well.Connect with me on Facebook!Connect with me on Instagram! If you haven’t already, join my weekly Truthful Tuesday emails where I share weekly personal + spiritual growth tips, give you free stuff, plus receive more behind-the-scene updates about my books and faith-led adventures! rachelcswanson.com/subscribe--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rachelcswanson/support
Have you ever sat down with someone and felt like they are an automatic friend? This is the kind of guest I’m bringing to you today on the podcast. Ruth Chou Simons, also known for her company Gracelaced, first started as a water color artist sharing God’s beauty and grace through her art. She’s become a bestselling author of multiple, gorgeous books (I know because I own them), mama entrepreneur, and national speaker. She shares her journey of God’s grace intersecting daily life with word and paintbrush through an online shoppe at GraceLaced.com and her Instagram community of more than a hundred thousand. Ruth and her husband, Troy, are grateful parents to six boys—their greatest adventure. Ruth is the author of Beholding and Becoming: The Art of Everyday Worship, and GraceLaced, which won a 2018 Christian Book Award. She lives in Colorado with her husband Troy and her 6 boys whom she lovingly refers to as “mancubs.” Honestly, I love this woman so much. She contains so much wisdom which we get to experience today on the podcast as we discuss finding God’s glory and grace in the everyday, even sometimes mundane, of life. She mentions how her Instagram reel is mainly a feed of her preaching to herself as she adheres to the truth of God’s promises through His Word. You will definitely be refreshed through this episode by the end of it.Connect with me on Facebook!Connect with me on Instagram!
Welcome back to the R&R Podcast friends, I cannot believe that it’s been 1 full year since I launched this podcast and what an amazing year of growth it’s been for those of you who have been following along each episode. I hope and pray you’ve been growing in your faith, learning tools to help you thrive in life, and that you’ve enjoyed some of the personal stories I’ve shared about the radical adventures of stepping out and walking on water with Jesus over the past several years of my life. The most amazing thing is I decided to start this podcast before I even knew that my book was going to be published with the same name, Refine and Restore. It’s been fun to see how God had this planned better than I could have planned it myself, even though I felt like He was taking too long because I had been pitching it, rather uncertainly for a year, this was 2017-2018 before it became officially contracted with FaithWords in October 2018 and is now going to be released into a book this October 2019. I can’t wait for October 8th when it becomes available for you to have in your hands, although I do have about 300 early readers in my launch team with books and can I just share with you a few things they’ve said about it so far? Vitali said As I read this book it’s like God wrote it for me and what I have been going through. I feel relief and joy for knowing that I can get out of this rut and that it’s all possible with His power and strength.” Renee said “I am a 73-year old grandmother and I feel that this book is applicable to all ages of women, from teens to old folks like me.” Re (a male reader) “she’s addressing women, but this could easily be written to either men or women.” Vickie said Thanks for putting words to feelings and validating what we are afraid others don't feel.” Kelli “I cannot thank you enough for putting words to what was going on in my head and in my heart. I am a writer. I love words. I can describe almost anything - except this - and you have done it for me!”Wow. Thank you! So friend, if you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet, sounds like this book is worth your time to read and you will thank me later for getting your copy. I also have something special for those that pre-order the book, it’s a 5-session course to help you revive your heart and release your purpose. Basically, it’s the practical application tools that I didn’t put in the book that I help coach you through with this course. And the videos are only 15 minutes or shorter which can either be completed in a 75 minute binge session because you will have access to all 5 of them immediately or you can go through it daily or weekly, applying the tools I share within it to help you grow in your relationship with God and walk out your unique purpose with Him. You can go to RefineAndRestore.com to order as well as claim your free pre-order gift—this course—before October 8th. I’m pretty sure Amazon has it on sale right now too so go grab it and tell your friends before the price goes up and while you can get your pre-order gift to go with it. There’s also a Mega giveaway going on for 5-nights in Hawaii or Florida plus a fun quiz you can check out to discover how happy you are, so go to RefineAndRestore.com and check it out!Today, I have a simple thought I want to share as we ease into fall with back to school, new schedules, extra activities that might be piling up or start feeling overwhelming...Connect with me on Facebook!Connect with me on Instagram!

Today I brought my guest Lindsay Teague Moreno onto the podcast. Lindsay is an author, podcaster, and business owner. In just two short years she built a seven-figure personal income, using only social media. Lindsay did this with three little girls at home and all the mom duties that come along with it. Having spent a considerable amount of time building multiple profitable businesses, she has gone through her share of ups and downs. With a passion for helping women find their voice and purpose, she wants to show women they can build their own version of the good life, no matter the circumstances. On the podcast today we tackle the unconventional look of being a faith-loving woman entrepreneur while being a devoted mama to her kids, along with a plethora of other misconceptions many people have that Lindsay has faced personally. Your going to laugh, be inspired, and find the courage you didn’t think you had by the end of this episode.Connect with me on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/RachelSwansonOfficial Connect with me on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/rachelcswanson/ If you haven’t already, join my weekly Truthful Tuesday emails where I share weekly personal + spiritual growth tips, give you free stuff, plus receive more behind-the-scene updates about my books and faith-led adventures!  https://rachelcswanson.com/subscribe/ --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rachelcswanson/support
Today you’re going to listen to the conversation I had with Mary DeMuth. Mary DeMuth is an author, speaker and podcaster who is passionate about helping you live a re-storied life. A survivor of neglect and sexual abuse, Mary was gloriously rescued by Jesus when she was 15. She has spent her life healing from trauma so she can help others not feel so alone. She is the wife of Patrick and mom of three adult children. In this episode we dig into overcoming shame, how to best respond to those hurt from sexual abuse, what we can do as parents to prevent our own children from unwanted sexual abuse, and why we need to start talking about this more in a healthy way to help people who have been affected by this issue not feel so alone. Although we don’t go into detail in today’s episode, it still may not be best for young children so use discretion when listening to this episode if you have little ones nearby. Connect with me on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/RachelSwansonOfficial Connect with me on Instagram!  https://www.instagram.com/rachelcswanson/ If you haven’t already, join my weekly Truthful Tuesday emails where I share weekly personal + spiritual growth tips, give you free stuff, plus receive more behind-the-scene updates about my books and faith-led adventures!  https://rachelcswanson.com/subscribe/ --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rachelcswanson/support

37: Everyone Starts at Zero

37: Everyone Starts at Zero

2019-07-0900:14:29

Happy Post Fourth of July! I hope you had a good one. Our plans were pretty low key as we are still getting used to the sun that never sets here in Idaho. Honestly, it’s so weird that at 10 pm there’s still light in the sky and we had to wait until 10:30 pm for fireworks to start. What the heck? In California where we used to live (for the majority of my life) fireworks always started at 9 pm because by 8:30 pm it was dark friends! So, with a 5 year old and two 7 year olds, waiting until 10:30 pm wasn’t going to happen so it wasn’t much of a show this year. Oh well. I’m still celebrating the freedom we have in our country and am so thankful for those that sacrificed themselves to enable the freedom that we have today. It’s episode 37 and I share about something I’ve struggled with (been still struggling with to an extent). But through the realization of this one truth (and dwelling on this reminder), it has enabled me to keep going when it feels easier to not. In fact, it's helped create 5 transformational inner changes in me and therefore I want to unpack this truth with you so that you can experience it, too.So in this episode, I chat about:5 transformational inner changes that occurred in me once I realized this one truth and let it soak in.How this one truth relates to God in the Bible.Apparently there are a few diaper innuendos (sorry!)What to do when you are feeling stuck with zero inspiration, zero clarity, zero hope, and zero confidence in something you're wrestling with.Ready to dig into this episode? Great! Let's go! If you want to read a blog post version of this episode, I decided to write out most of the episode for my readers on the blog! Click here to read it now.
