Some great thoughts I'd like to share from the brilliant folks at IDEO.
most seem to mess it up by trying to implement too big-too soon. Or they see it as only a marketing dept tool and don't properly involve all parts of the business. In this episode I take a look at some of my major learnings in developing a brand online from scratch over the past 3-5 months. I also take a look ahead and talk about what I'll be focusing on over the next 3 months too.
In this episode I look at three different ways you can manage your social media posts - whether you are doing just a few - or lots and lots of them.
Many people who are building an online business tend to get too caught up in the development process and don't spend enough time talking to potential customers about what they are working on. Or they just seek feedback from a small subset of their customers. In this video i talk about how I have been facing this issue over the past few weeks - and how diverse customer input has really helped me to streamline my business. Getting input early in the development process can actually slow down your long term go-to-market model rather than speeding it up. To find out more go to: www.olddognewtricks.com
We all know the power of Instagram. Huge companies like Coca Cola, Starbucks and Nike dominate the space. Companies with established followings… like they all have… seem to have no problems getting engagement and results. But how can you use Instagram for smaller or more local businesses. One thing I’ve learned over the past few months is that the role of Instagram is very different for business use… versus people wanting to use it like a personal Facebook style of account.Success for brands on Instagram takes more than publishing attractive images. You have to focus on having a thoughtful strategy… a well-defined brand identity grounded in visual creativity… and really effective community management. Here is an update on how Insta is working for me so far...Links: http://olddognewtricks.com/garyvee-1-80-instagram-strategy/http://instagram.com/odntdigital
I've been involved in the development of online course content for some of the worlds biggest brands - so I thought it might be helpful to pass on some of what I've learned over the years for people who are just starting out. This episode is designed to give you some thought starters if you are about to embark on developing a course for internal corporate use - or if you are developing a course to sell online.
Even if you’ve done you’re a brilliant job… and picked the perfect high-demand/low-competition product to sell on Amazon, you still have to let the world know about it. And this means advertising…,. and advertising costs money… and therefore will impact your profit margin. So… why advertise? The reality is that… even with good products and reviews… a lot of your business success will come down to the velocity of your sales. So.. you can save by not advertising… but you will likely sell less items per month… or you can spend money on advertising and significantly boost your sales rate.
