The one where the boys thought they were getting into a truck conversation, but couldn't find the crayons so they discussed leadership and the young officer instead, asked the Lieutenant all about his experiences and methods to success, and even got into how to find the nuggets of information at any conference, lecture and class as opposed to searching for the entire goddamn mine (lest you be horribly disappointed).
The hometown heroes are back! Cody had the rona, Gerald has a new status, and Brandon has been travelling the land doing Trump impressions for all. This episode will focus almost entirely on answering questions submitted by you guys on Facebook, so, if you see another post like it in the future, be sure to get your questions/topics in! The one where the boys invite Cody's rookie on the show for the intro/outro, Stephen intentionally pisses off Cody by being a fantasy/sci-fi snob of the tallest order, Cody regales the boys with the tale of how he first learned the pain of having the breath knocked out of him, and Jeff Dykes of Northern Star Fire is on the show to talk about experience versus education, how formal education can benefit smaller departments, how too many firefighters are pursuing the wrong degrees, and of course how his Northern Star compass device helps firefighters make faster grabs on the fireground.
The one where the boys dealt with the Procrastination Monkey (a real thing btw) and got stood up by the Panic Monster (also real), Cody and guest talk about their love of effective profanity, Chris Tobin of St. Louis Fire Department covers vacant buildings and why we shouldn't write them off right away, admits to the occasional transitional and defensive attack, points out that the shorter the bio is, the more humble the instructor usually tends to be, cancer and where the hell do we as the fire service draw the line, the fact that aggressive shouldn't be a bad word and you can do literally ANYTHING AGGRESSIVELY, and then of course Stephen bonds with him over the amazing African continent (go to Africa one day, you heathens! The one where the boys grapple once again with the terror of spotty internet (this time in a hotel in the DFW metroplex), Cody busts Stephen's balls about being starstruck, and Brian Olson of Eagle FD, Brothers In Battle, LLC, Search Culture, and firefighterrescuesurvey.com promises to get conspiratorial when we meet in person and threatens to punch Cody after he makes a terrible Metallica dad-joke.
The one where the boys drink Rip-Its in their neverending quest for cerebral and physical stimulation, Stephen recounts his harrowing experience with a fully-involved dog house, and Kyle Romagus and Chief Rinewalt of Engine Company Resurrection, FD Tactics and Smoothbore Cartel join the boys for a quickie on all things under the engine company sun!
The one where the boys introduce everyone to the Octosphincter, Cody buys a bunch of phallic gag gifts for the upcoming association party, and the authors of Firefighter Functional Fitness, Dan Kerrigan and Jim Moss, graciously come on the show and share their knowledge of the importance of being fit for duty.
The one where the boys are amazed that a guest would drive all the way from sunny El Paso to the wintry Panhandle for an interview, they discuss what being a young officer is all about, why millennials get a bad rap and how to change it, and the fact that Cody & Stephen are lazier for having fallen in love with the Hose Mule. Keystones make a comeback in this episode and if you listen closely, you'll be able to hear the beer flowing down the esophaguses/esophagi and belched out in vapor form.
