Rev. Connie continues our new series on miracles this week. Jesus shows that a miraculous healing is part of his process of revealing who he is and what authority he has. They seem more surprised by his claim to forgive than his ability to heal! Readings from this service:Daniel 7: 13-14Psalm 32: 1-2 & 5-7Matthew 9: 1-7
Rev. Alex begins our new sermon series, 6 Lies of Satan (and why we believe them) this week. God never calls us to stay put in comfort, but to follow him. Were the good old days really all that good anyway, or did we have problems before? The heart of this lie is that we should put our trust in the security of normalcy rather than in God himself. Christians who accept this lie look very much like the non-believers around them. In exodus they wanted slavery, but in exile they wanted Israel, in return they wanted the temple!Readings from this service:Ecclesiastes 7: 1-3, 10Philippians 3: 7-11Psalm 137: 1-4Luke 9: 57-62
Rev. Ben Hughes brings our Advent & Christmas series to a close.Come let us adore Him! As the wise men fought many obstacles and traveled a long way, what will your journey look like to worship Jesus?Readings from this service:Jeremiah 31: 7-14Psalm 84: 1-4Matthew 2: 1-12

John is born in order to prepare the way. Our ministry is also to prepare the way for Jesus in this world.Readings from this service:Malachi 3: 1-4Psalm 111: 1-4Luke 1: 57-80

In the final sermon of our James series, James moves on to talk about some practical things we can do in suffering, especially in prayer. Sometimes people say that offering to pray is not enough, or is just the least we can do. James describes it as the most we can do. This attitude reveals that our trust is often still in human endeavor. For James, works are the outworking of faith, not a substitute for it or a precursor to it.Readings from this service:James 5: 13-20Psalm 145: 17-21Luke 22: 39-46
