Part 2 of the Conversation with Kelsey Chen and Christian Lansang. https://bodhiparts.com/
https://bodhiparts.com/  Kelsey Chen and Christian Lansang run a fashion brand called Bodhi Parts. Bodhi Parts is dedicated to enacting an anticolonial future. It merges high-end street wear design with impact-driven social messaging. The vision for the brand came from Kelsey and Christian's desire to start a fashion brand  where clothing is seen as a site where racial and cultural tension and anxieties can play out. Transferring Trust

Transferring Trust — that’s why Niranjan and I started SYHDE. It’s our mission to capture moments & perspectives & stories in the lives of the people around us to remind ourselves that we all share certain conditions, even though those conditions are not equal.
Whenever an unarmed black man is killed, I get a call from my mother and sometimes I hesitate to pick up. It’s painful to hear the fear and worry in her voice. And I know it’s her calling even before I look at my phone — the ring tone even sounds different to me. Those notes land on my tiny ears differently when my mom calls. So this time I decided to call her and record it for you to listen to. Because when people ask me how I’m doing right now, the honest response is I’m thinking about my mother. I’m thinking about how she's doing. So this episode is about that.
Introducing SYHDE Sessions We want to get to know you through 3 of your IG photos. Since 2017, we’ve been having conversations with the people around us to capture a moment of time in their life through audio. ⠀ Since we can’t have these conversations face-to-face, we decided to use IG as a platform to bridge our audio experience with our interviewee’s visual experiences on IG. We’re calling these SYDHE Sessions. ⠀ Still capturing moments through conversation, just adding visuals. Join us for SYHDE Sessions on IGTV, Youtube, and still available on all podcast platforms. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_DHYY-lqCh/
Logan Stone is a director and filmmaker from St. Louis, Missouri. His company, Cinestone Pictures, is a digital media creative collaborative that produces independently funded films, music videos, and other digital media with a commitment to artistic vision and originality. Logan has directed music videos for artist like Rick Ross, and he recently filmed a documentary for MMA fighter Cowboy Cerrone leading up to his fight with Connor Mcgregor in January. In 2018 Logan completed first Feature film, “Noise and Color”. Its a SCIFI movie about a young man abandoning his decaying hometown in pursuit of the door to salvation.  Logan’s passion for film-making goes back to his childhood - like a lot of us he was inspired by films and cartoons, but he also was inspired by his own father who could often be found with his camera in hand shooting photos of Logan and his family and friends. In this episode you'll hear how passionate Logan is about film-making and how he got to a point where he could recognize his creative impulses, say F*CK yes to them, and run towards them. I’m excited for you to hear his SYHDE!
Welcome back to SYHDE. This is the second part of the interview with Viv and Vik Nayar-- the Founders of Two Robbers. If you’re just joining us, go back and listen to part 1 of the episode In part two, the twin brothers talk about their new flavor that’s launching soon, the inspiration behind all of the Two Robber’s flavors, and the importance of focusing on quality when creating new beverages. The conversation transitions into personal stories about Viv and Vik as they reveal one thing that they don’t usually share with people in their lives. It's a fascinating conversation with two creatives who are really pushing the boundaries and limitations of what it means to be a new age brand, especially in a competitive space. There's lessons we can all take away from their journey. We hope you enjoy part 2 of the episode with the Two Robbers.
Today we’re dropping part one of a two-part episode with Vivek and Vikram Nayar. Viv and Vik are twin brothers, their parents are from South India and their family has lived in Toronto, New Delhi, New York, and Chicago. Viv & Vik live in Philly now and are the founders of Two-Robbers--a fast growing craft hard seltzer company based in Philly. In two years, they’ve taken an idea that came from Viv wanting a healthier alternative to beer and transformed that idea into a company & life-style brand. If you’re in eastern PA, the greater Philly area, and NJ, go get a six pack of Two robbers. And I'm sure they will be available in other places soon. Go follow their story on IG @two_robbers.  Jeremiah sat down with them at their office in Bok Building--a converted high school in South Philly that is a space for Philly businesses and community services. It’s a laid back, creative environment. You will hear the hustle of the place in the background during the episode. In part 1, Viv and Vik talk about where their desire for creativity & entrepreneurship came from and how 2 robbers got started. They also speak about their family and how their older brother and parents have inspired them. At the end, they’ll take a break to crack open a few more 2 robbers. We'll have the second part dropping next week. We’re excited for you to hear their SYHDE.” www.tworobbers.com instagram.com/two_robbers

Season 2 Intro

Season 2 Intro

2019-10-0701:16

Welcome to season 2 of SYHDE — the podcast that captures a moment of time in your life through audio. On SYHDE we interview people and get them to share their story for the purpose of inspiration, motivation, and human connection. We want to capture a moment in the interviewees life becuase we believe that the people around us have impactful stories, and we want to bring those stories to the world in a clear, relatable way. Last year during season 1, we interviewed 7 people giving them the space to reflect and share their story—where they were from, where they were at the moment of our interview, and where they wanted to go. This season, we’re sticking with that relentless focus on capturing people’s now, but we’re adding a small twist. On season 2, we are focusing on people who are building—people who have creative passions and who are working hard to achieve their hustles and dreams; artist, entrepreneurs, travelers, and creatives. You’ll hear their stories here. Welcome to Season 2 of SYHDE. Intro Song Credit: Rendezvous - Jaeden Camstra w/ Engelwood
Season 1 Recap

Season 1 Recap

2019-02-2208:19

A quick recap of Season 1 of SYHDE. Listen to this to quickly refresh your memory about the 7 amazing individuals we interviewed -- this a snapshot of the snapshot! 1. Jordan Mickens 2. Ritesh Desai 3. Chaitra Betageri 4. Jesse McGleughlin 5. Ebenezer Kwame Gyasi 6. Akshai Ajit 7. Fumnanya Ekhator Season 2 is on the way!
This week our guest is Fumnanya Ekhator! She is a 27 year old Nigerian woman who’s lived in Lagos, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and D.C.. Check out her resume: she’s worked in the white-house, she’s at Penn law and is in the process of acquiring her 2nd ivy league degree, AND she has a prominent youtube Channel that’s amassed over 40 thousand subscribers to her page. But these accomplishments didn’t come easy—during her journey, she’s experienced moments of intense criticism for simply being herself. She’s never let that stop her from progressing though, and she’s adapted the principle that her father expressed to her at a young age—that Fumnanya has the final say on who and what she is. Music by David Sanya Beats
In this episode, you learn about Akshai’s journey of growing up in the OC, going to college in New York, and finding his true calling in film. He always had a passion for the space, but not until he was exposed to the diverse city and his experiences in college did he pursue it. We sat down with him earlier and had a great conversation about his journey as a screen writer and why representation in media today is more important than ever. Excited to share his SYHDE! (Music by David Sanya Beats)
Our guest this week has lived in Ghana and Newark, NJ as a young kid, comes from a deeply religious Christian family, has taught in Louisiana for Teach for America, and is now finishing up law school at U Penn. If it’s not obvious, Ebenezer Jesse has got quite the journey to share. Jeremiah sat down w/ his close friend from law school to learn more. The conversation centers around understanding people and their identity through their own terms, and how having deeply humbling experiences can impact your own growth and personal perspective, among other things. We are excited for you to hear his SYHDE. (Music by David Sanya Beats)
In this episode, you learned about Jesse, a vocal activist that has dedicated her life to advocating for families and youth who are marginalized. She’s in her 2nd year at Penn law, but her passion for social justice began way before her higher education experiences--her familial and scholastic experiences growing up in Cambridge, MA are the ones that guided and developed her passion to fight for those who need it the most. You'll learn more about her unique perspective and SYHDE through this listen!
In this episode, you learn about Chaitra Betageri, a lawyer in San Fransisco who has interesting journey from growing up in both Alabama and Southern California, and how those experiences played a role in her early belief systems. She talks about how she was encouraged at a young age to speak up, understood the importance of different perspectives, and why it led her to keep balance as an essential principle for herself. You also hear a little bit about her eclectic sports teams, and her fascination with Big Baller Brand (mainly because she went to the same high school as Lonzo Ball). Check out her SYHDE and a snapshot in time. (Music by David Sanya Beats)
