Melinda Byrd’s family tree is filled with talented artists who were on the forefront of making rya rugs, a traditional Scandinavian wool rug.  In 2011, Melinda made a  video about rya rugs that sparked a lot of interest in the art, which led to Melinda leaving her 30-year career to bring the age-old art of rya rug making back.  After crossing paths with Melinda, Nicole found herself repeating anecdotes about the tradition, and wanted to have her on this show so that you can share in the rich history of rya rugs. "The best advice I've ever been given: You are not for everyone, and that's OK." Cassondra (aka @RizzaKnits) is unapologetically a queen of color, which can be appreciated through a quick scroll of her instagram. As a knitwear artist, teacher, painter, and all-around creative person, she had to fight past negative feelings that people wouldn't like her or that she's too much, and instead learned to embrace her instincts.  "The less that I think about it and the more I go with it, the more I love it." Sound advice that everyone could benefit from practicing more of.  Click HERE for more info on the Made with Love Experiment. xo, Nicole & Team DGY
