This week I'm slowly getting back on track with time management,  task tracking, and the need to journal and setting up specific times.  Task tracking has made me realize my need for another organization tool for world and adventure creation is its World Anvil? OneNote? Trello?Don't forget to chime in, because your ideas make my ideas better!Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708email: middlekingdomstrading at gmail--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support

After a two week hiatus, the Design Diary is back! The muse has woken me out of a dead sleep with new inspiration. This week I'm creating a new game with and for my kids—I'm going back to middle School.Don't forget to chime in, because your ideas make my ideas better!Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708email: middlekingdomstrading at gmail--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
It was a long 4 day Memorial Day weekend for me and while I was offline hanging out with my family  most of the time, the mice still played with the toys in the attic. In today's microburst I talk about some fundamental ideas on GMing that really came to light while teaching my kids to be game masters. Don't forget to chime in, because your ideas make my ideas better!Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708Send a voice message: https://anchor.fm/frankt/messageemail: middlekingdomstrading at gmail dot comI Can Feel it Coming Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
This week I talk more on my continuing struggles with time management and focus, being lazy, Sci-fi Tiles and maps, refining the new 2.5D style, and what podcast would be complete without an encouraging voicemail from the anchorite Cheerleader—The Happy Whisk pulling a "Jackson."Don't forget to chime in, because your ideas make my ideas better!Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708email: middlekingdomstrading at gmail--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
Wow 3 weeks already! I hope you're finding these entertaining. In this journal I talk about rough starts, limitations, overcoming the gravity of launching a project, new sci-fi tiles, and my frustration with not being able to keep focus on the tasks I assign myself.Don't forget to chime in, because your ideas make my ideas better!Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708email: middlekingdomstrading at gmail--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
In response to being asked to review a few adventures for some friends, I found myself reflecting on my own adventure design principles. Don't forget to chime in, because your ideas make my ideas better!Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708Anchor: https://anchor.fm/franktemail: middlekingdomstrading at gmail--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
When I started my Anchor podcast one of my intentions was to use it as a way of updating patrons on my projects and reveal some of the thoughts that go into the creation process. I don't know exactly how this will turn out, but I plan on posting these audio journal entries for patrons first and then assembling them into a regular design diary. This one was recorded as a stream of consciousness during my morning commute. I tried to edit it down to a reasonable length and take out a lot of the really obvious side adventures that really didn't seem to go anywhere.I hope you find this interesting, entertaining, and useful.Links:Okum Arts: https://www.patreon.com/okumarts/overviewMike Schley: https://mikeschley.com/2 Minute Table Top: https://2minutetabletop.com/Dungeon Craft: https://youtu.be/cIpISlJLZRc TheDMsCraft: https://youtu.be/HUwrtRk5dYQ Crooked Staff Terrain: https://youtu.be/cr5gzdX7m-A Wyloch's Armory: https://youtu.be/ilVhR3L2GbU Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708Anchor: https://anchor.fm/franktemail: middlekingdomstrading at gmail--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
Recently my daughter, who is 11 has approached me and asked to, for me to teach her how to be a dungeon master, of course I was excited, but that excitement was quickly followed by, "Wait a minute, how am I going to do this?"When I started my Anchor podcast one of my intentions was to use it as a way of updating patrons on my projects and reveal some of the thoughts that go into the creation process. I don't know exactly how this will turn out, but I plan on posting these  Microbursts as audio journal entries for patrons first. I've been recording updates daily most often while inn my car on my commute to and from work and unfortunately the audio quality might not be the best. I am working on making improvements. If you have any suggestions for better recording in a moving tin can or any comments on today's microburst please contact me.Contact me:MeWe: mewe.com/i/frankturfler Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MiddleKingdomsAdventure/Voicemail: (480) 331-7708Anchor: https://anchor.fm/franktemail: middlekingdomstrading at gmail--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
I love using published adventures but one of the things that frustrates me about them is the amount of prep that I need to do when I'm getting ready to run a game, but for the most part, there's a limited amount of information that you need for running the game at the table. Does a published adventure need to have a high word count or could an adventure really just be a series of notes?--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/frankt/support
