The Lord’s Prayer is a pattern that Jesus taught his followers to pray. The Lord’s Prayer is a reminder of who God is and how we should engage with Him. So, the next time you pray start by reading the Lord’s Prayer and then pattern your prayer of the themes that Jesus used.

Brokenness. It can mean a lot of things. It may imply messiness and imperfection. It may mean heartbreak. It may mean physical weakness. For some, it’s a reason to demand pity; for others, it’s motivation to stay “true to themselves” in their flawed humanity and not attempt to appear all put together in a nice, neat package. For others it’s a cool word, a trend. There’s a lot we could talk about in regards to the meaning of brokenness.

You may feel burdened for a ministry that you’re not prepared for. You don’t feel comfortable in that role. Your ability or lack of it is pronounced and very obvious to all around. If so, you’re in good company. God only expects for you to be obedient, regardless of your comfort level. He’s got this. Rest in His power.

The assurance from His Word is that He’s going to overshadow our shortcomings and accomplish the outcome He desires if we follow His lead. Weakness only serves to underscore His power. We can rest, knowing that it’s nothing we can conjure up or manipulate. His Spirit will be at work.

If you think about it for even just a few moments, you might recall at least one time when you weren’t the best candidate or the best prepared or the most comfortable and yet God used you in your weakness. The power of the Holy Spirit made the difference, using you to accomplish His purpose.

We must accept the person we are in this moment and the way other people are, too. As time goes on, we continue to learn that things don’t always go as planned — actually, they pretty much never do. And that’s okay: If you become aware of yourself and your part of your relationships, they will improve; however, you may also have to accept facts about certain people in your life. Practice gratitude, appreciation, and trust in the process.

Mine did back in April 2012!
It was a painful experience and lesson to learn. Why had I gone through and still going through the craziness within my world? I had taken my eyes off the prize. I had become sidetracked yet again by what others needed and wanted; how to make them happy and to build them again to my own detriment.
So God had to allow my bottom to fall out and I then had to realize that He is my source and the one I needed to please was Him and no one else.

“I have been betrayed.” Everyone has uttered those words at one time or another in life.
Anyone who has been a leader in the Body of Christ for an extended period of time has experienced a major betrayal from someone close to them. The Bible makes it clear that if we follow Christ we will experience rejection and suffering. And we know of the betrayal Jesus Himself experienced.
If there were a binding contract to sign before entering ministry, the fine print would include: "The undersigned acknowledges that the ministry may be hazardous and subject the undersigned to expressions of animosity, including but not limited to calumny, slander, misrepresentation, and betrayal."
Being betrayed is so profoundly painful few can talk about it—yet if they do open up, they can't stop talking about what happened to them.

If he can’t destroy you, he’ll distract you. If he can’t convince you to give up, he’ll divert your attention. If he can’t lead you to moral failure, he’ll get your focus misaligned. Distraction is one of the most effective tools of our enemy. (Previously Aired - May 30, 2019)
