Description

So Do We Still Like This? is a podcast where we revisit our childhoods to see if the things we used to love still hold up as adults. One person picks something they have nostalgia for (movie, TV show, book, album, video game, etc) and they go back to it along with one or more people who are experiencing it for the first time. Then we all get together to ask the question - so, do we still like this?

It's a double dose of things called Ready or Not! We did the movie, now it's time for the TV show. OG Sam and Breanna join me to talk about the show but also mostly sex ed and periods.
After The Thing I promised Kim some strong women in the next movie we watched and I felt I delivered! Did Kim like Ready or Not? Was she too distracted by Samara Weaving to even notice if the movie was good? Come find out!

Remember this short lived "X-Files meets The Blair Witch Project" from the year 2000? Because I sure do! It's time to find out whether the show was ahead of its time or just a pale imitation. Or some other third option I guess.

The journey to episode 300 begins! As you know the goal is always to make an episode longer than the source material and we absolutely crushed it this week as we break down the 1992 slasher movie Dr. Giggles. Joining me on this journey is returning favourite Laurel Hightower and newcomer to the show Patrick Tumblety. Be sure to check out the links to their work below and enjoy the episode! 250 of these things! A podcast streak born completely out of spite continues on strong and we finally, FINALLY, tackle the first idea for an episode topic I ever had. It's time to finally revisit the early 90's mystery series Ghost Writer. What a trip!
Kim has never seen John Carpenter's The Thing! She has now though! And we talked about it! On this very podcast episode! Come!
I joked about scrambling for an episode at the end of Dead Silence and well, here we are. A series of unfortunate events befell all the planned recordings this week so once again Wife is kind enough to step in at the zero hour! After partaking in a slew of enjoyable things lately, we decided to dedicate a whole episode to all the cool stuff we've been watching and reading and so on. We also occasionally have to take a break to wipe a child's bum cuz parenting.

Kim joins me as we beware the stare of Mary Shaw because she had no children, only dolls. Something something something she gonna rip that tongue out. It's time for the 2007 creepy puppet movie Dead Silence!
This week it was once again Rob's turn to choose! He picked out a couple of UK game shows from back in the day that has everything from virtual helicoper landings to remote control car mazes. We talk game shows, shitty game show prizes and so much more!

Another lesson that things don't always work out as I sit solo on the morning the episode needs to go live and talk to you about the 2005 movie Red Eye. I hope you like raspy sick voice! Episodes with actual human beings will follow soon!
I swear this wasn't even planned but 200 episodes after doing Ghostbusters 2 we finally went back and did the original! AK had never seen it and that isn't acceptable! What is like to watch Ghostbusters for the first time in 2023? You know what to do to find out! ...listen to the episode. That's how you find out.
I wanted to do another music episode so damn it, we did another music episode. Sam Also and I had a random number generator give us 15 of the top 100 Canadian singles of 1998 to talk about. It's a wide variety of stuff as we talk everything from All Saint's to Green Day to The Moffatts. Man...The Moffatts you guys.
Wife is once again the saviour of the week, stepping in after another plan fell through due to circumstances beyond our control. This week we casually talk about Bluey and why it's unquestionably the best kid's show out there right now. And we highlight some of the shit it goes up against in that ranking.
My wife once again steps in to emergency record at the end of an insane week! We take a look back at 1997's Romy and Michele's High School Reunion but mostly we just talk about the logistics of real life reunions and our own high school popularity levels.
Laurel Hightower returns to the show to talk about her new short story collection - Every Woman Knows This. We also talk about the 2000 romcom What Women Want and the minefield that is that slice of insanity. Remember Mel Gibson? Crazy right? Buy Laurel's book! Amazon Canada Amazon US
It's time to finally get around to a Patreon request from a generous donator! Thank you so much for supporting the show and for allowing us to watch this fantastic thriller from 1967! It's time for Wait Until Dark!

The themed months are done so it's time to watch what WE want! And what WE want to watch is Arnold drop one liners and shoot 100 people. It's Commando baby!
Marianne makes her return (you can check out previous appearance on The Peanut Butter Solution episode) to close out Boning Month for 2023! We're talking about 1992's The Cutting Edge, a movie about the world's undeniably sexiest sport - figure skating.
It's time for the battle of the bookstores! A movie where the little guy takes on the big guy and loses and then decides that's fine and bones the big guy. You've Got Mail!
We're introduced AK to a lot of horror movies so it's time to soften things up and introduce her to a Boning Month movie!
