Description

Join us as we cover some of our favorite shows, like The Mandalorian, Cobra Kai, The Handmaid’s Tale, Westworld, and Game of Thrones. We're fans, and we aim to enhance your experience of these shows. Currently on deck: Marvel’s What If?

“‘What If…?’ flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways. Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles. Space. Time. Reality. It's more than a linear path.”

Really fascinating this week seeing Tony Stark and Killmonger team up (well, for awhile) - as Tony says, two gear-head orphans trying to do right by their fathers, but as Killmonger points out, not exactly fighting the same battle.I’m stoked to be joined again this week by artist and comics fan extraordinaire Kirk Manley. Check out Kirk’s amazing art on just about any character you can think of over at studiokm.com, and listen to the next episode of Walking Dead ‘Cast to find out how you could win all six posters from Kirk’s upcoming Walking Dead tribute art weekend. Support and get ad-free episodes: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.com Email: talk@podcastica.com Social: facebook.com/podcastica & twitter.com/podcasticaOther shows: podcastica.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
It’s zombies and superheroes. What more could you want? (And they did a fantastic job with it too!) Happy to be joined this week by my zombie-loving friends, Daphne and Wendy. The Handmaid’s Tale crew reunites! It’s Doctor Strange going to extremes! These seem to be getting darker and darker, don’t they? I kinda love it. Only in a “What If…?” story could you do something like this. Happy to be joined this week by my friends Carl and The Real Brian. Whoa, this was a dark one. Basically, what if the MCU got majorly effed up right from the start. And it was pretty great! Happy to be joined by Rima and Jonathan to talk about this episode. We’re all really impressed with this series so far, and hope you guys are digging it too! Support and get ad-free episodes: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.com Email: talk@podcastica.com Social: facebook.com/podcastica & twitter.com/podcasticaOther shows: podcastica.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
A great and yet bittersweet episode this week in that it’s one of Chadwick Boseman’s final performances as The Black Panther (word is the character will make appearances in more episodes this season). So fun to see what would’ve happened if the Ravagers had picked up a young T’Challa instead of Peter Quill, and man what a contrast from last week’s episode as far as how much things can change in the world of “What If…?” So glad to be joined this week by two of my best friends in the world, Rich and Eric, with whom I’ve been geeking out on stuff like this for literally decades. Support and get ad-free episodes: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.com Email: talk@podcastica.com Social: facebook.com/podcastica & twitter.com/podcasticaOther shows: podcastica.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Thrilled to start House Podcastica’s coverage of our very first Marvel Cinematic Universe Show, “What If…?”, exploring alternate possibilities in the stories all of us Marvel fans know so well. On first watch, I thought this week’s premiere episode, “What If... Captain Carter Were The First Avenger?” was a good, solid episode. But the more I dug into it, the more I found to love.It was great having my friend Kirk Manley to talk about this ep. He’s a longtime comic book fan and an accomplished artist. You can find his work at studiokm.com, and I definitely recommend checking it out.And stick around to the end to hear Kirk and me talk over some recent superhero fare, like Loki, Black Widow, and The Suicide Squad, among others. Thanks all. We’re beyond thrilled to welcome The Handmaid’s Tale showrunner Bruce Miller to the podcast. Unsurprisingly, he was a pleasure to talk to, and of course had a lot of fascinating things to say about the making of this incredible show. A few of the things we talked about:• Margaret Atwood’s involvement in the series• The attention to detail that goes into creating the world of Gilead• An answer to people who say the show is too brutal• Whether he can get into the heads of every character• His thoughts on our podcast• And much much more!Enjoy!Support and get ad-free episodes: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.com Email: talk@podcastica.com Social: facebook.com/podcastica & twitter.com/podcasticaOther shows: podcastica.com & runforyourlivespodcast.com Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Wow. WOW! What an incredibly intense finale. Dark? Yes. Cathartic? We thought so. We had such a great time podcasting about Handmaid’s Tale this season - because of the high quality of the show, and because of all the fantastic engagement with you guys! Thanks for being a part of it all with us, and we’ll see you for season 5.Next on House Podcastica: Our next series will be the upcoming Disney+ show, What If? Which explores how the MCU would be altered if certain events had occurred differently, like if Loki wielded Thor's hammer. It’s an animated show, beautifully done by the looks of the teaser trailer, and features Westworld’s Geoffrey Wright as The Watcher (kind of this show’s Rod Serling) and a bunch of the Marvel move actors like Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Sam Jackson, Michael B. Jordan, Jeff Goldblum, Karen Gillan, Josh Brolin, and a bunch more. Looks like even Chadwick Boseman did one before he passed away. So, if you’re watching that, we’ll be there to help you geek out on it :) It comes out in August so we might cover a movie or two in the meantime.Support and get ad-free episodes: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.com Email: talk@podcastica.com Social: facebook.com/podcastica & twitter.com/podcasticaOther shows: podcastica.com & runforyourlivespodcast.com Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
More unexpected, crazy events this week, like June reuniting with Nick, the return of Esther, and f%#ng Fred getting a reprieve, among other things. So fascinating to see how June’s presence in Canada impacts the people around her — Luke, Fred & Serena, Emily and the women of the support group. Even with June safely out of Gilead, the show is as captivating — and troubling — as ever, with no easy answers, but lots to talk about.Support and get ad-free episodes: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.comEmail: talk@podcastica.com Social: facebook.com/podcastica & twitter.com/podcasticaOther shows: podcastica.com & runforyourlivespodcast.com Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Another intense, incredible, unpredictable episode this week. At times way darker than we realized it would be once June got to Canada (but we should have known, right?), and of course there was that immensely satisfying scene we’ve all been waiting for. This episode I brought on three of my closest, oldest, most super friends — Dan, Rich, and Eric — to talk about the recently released 4-hour marathon of a movie: Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Westworld (1973)

Westworld (1973)

2021-02-0801:25:01

After having covered each and every episode of HBO’s Westworld, David and I finally went back to the source material, Michael Crichton’s original 1973 sci-fi Western thriller. Both David and I saw this movie and were scared by it as kids, and I hadn’t seen it since, so I was curious to see how it would hold up. And I thought it was great! Well worth watching, especially if you enjoy the HBO show. We are most likely going to be back in a couple weeks to talk about the new documentary, More Than Miyagi: The Pat Morita Story, so we’ll see you then.Support: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.com Email: waxonwaxoff@podcastica.com Facebook: facebook.com/housepodcastica Other shows: podcastica.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Holy crap, what a great couple of episodes to cap off an awesome season! So many great moments. There are a lot of shows and movies capitalizing on our nostalgia these days, but for our money, Cobra Kai is doing it best. Hope you guys enjoyed this season as much as we did :)I’m not sure what we’ll be covering next on this podcast (aside from the 1973 Westworld movie next week), but we’ll be back sooner or later, so stay subscribed and we’ll speak to you soon. Support: patreon.com/jasoncabassi Subscribe: housepodcastica.com Email: waxonwaxoff@podcastica.com Facebook: facebook.com/housepodcastica Other shows: podcastica.comSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/house-podcastica-cobra-kai-edition/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Johnny and Daniel are back being senseis again in these couple of episodes, and all the kids, wives, and girlfriends are onboard. Agreeded with everyone comments. However, Kristen's comments on the female representation really resonated with me and was dead on. Thanks for presenting that point. The writing certainly fell short this season. The actors did absolutely the best they could.
