Welcome back, amused listeners! I'm so happy to be back for season 5 :) Get ready for even juicier episodes. Do you want to know every detail of my personal life and brain? This season, you will. But in this episode, we address the epidemic of ghosting. Have you ever been ghosted? Are you an avid ghoster? The big question is: to ghost or not to ghost? In this episode, Gabi Pal and Aidan Michaelov (and his roommates) give their two cents on the topic.
Although she claims she is not an expert, MUSE’s very own Maya Kotso walks us through an eye-opening, spiritual discussion on astrology, crystals and manifesting. We share personal stories, opinions and our hot-takes about all things zodiac. You don’t have to be a true believer to learn something new from this episode, we promise. Happy listening and don’t forget to check out Maya’s homemade crystal jewelry business @ladylovemecrystals.

Hi Amused, unfortunately, a very sad day has come as it is the last episode of the school year. However, we have a special episode lined up for you where we have Maya, the podcast editor, and Jaimie, the head of podcast production, joining us to recap and discuss the entire year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who listened to us and supported us throughout the year. We also want to extend our gratitude to all our guests for their time and insights. We love you all, and we cannot wait to bring you season 5. As we head into exam season and summer, we wish you all the very best. Love, Amused.
In today's episode, we have the privilege of conversing with @brendanboi about his unique journey of transitioning from a religious upbringing to university life. We kindly request our listeners to be aware that this episode may delve into sensitive topics that could potentially trigger some individuals. It is important to note that this episode does not represent MUSE's stance on religion, but rather serves as an open conversation about an individual's deeply personal experience.

Today, our very own podcast editor, Maya, is speaking to us from Edinburgh, Scotland, where she is on exchange for the semester! Maya is opening up about her exchange experience in an honest conversation about the challenges, the ways it has forced her to grow, the lessons she’s learned and the beautiful moments she has experienced. This episode has some amazing lessons for those who are planning on going on an exchange or just for the everyday listener.

In honour of the Queen’s Commerce VS Engineering game we have a very special episode. This week we’re sitting down with the incoming eng prez @aidanshimizu and COMSOC’s VP of student affairs @ethanwilliiams debating which program is really worthy of the win. You don’t wanna miss this episode.
Today is a very special Amused episode listener because we are talking about mental health with one of Queen’s mental health counsellors, Amber McCart. For many students here at Queen’s, mental health is a daily struggle that we, unfortunately, know all too well. Join me while I have the conversation about dealing with this struggle and how we students can develop techniques to better manage on those darker days.
Welcome back, Amused Listeners! This week Maya is going to be wrapping up the Amused semester by talking about some hot takes at Queen’s. We asked on our Instagram story, and you gave some controversial answers, so we’re going to dive into them. We hope you love it and have an incredible break! Also a special shout-out to liv for requesting this episode. See you next semester <3

Hello everybody, and welcome back to the amused podcast. We are a podcast associated with MUSE Magazine, the most incredible creativity magazine on Queen’s campus. This week we are introducing our fabulous team for the year. Jaimie is our podcast host, and most of you know her from last year. If not, you will love her! She is a second-year commerce student, and she has some amazing stuff planned. Maya is our podcast editor. She is a second-year film student and absolutely loves all things MUSE. Last but not least, Catherine is our head of podcast outreach this year. She is in first-year life science and she can’t wait to get involved. We hope you guys love everything we have planned as much as we do!! P.S. get excited for a spooky Halloween special later this week!
One of our goals as a podcast was to create a safe place for conversation so Queen’s students could share their input and personal connection to a topic they are passionate about. This week, we accomplished that in the way we dreamed about when AMUSED was just an idea on a page in @claudbeattie ‘s Notes app. Join our Editor in Chief, Megan Fanjoy, and Queen’s alumni Jessica Somersall as they reflect on Jessica’s piece in last year’s Black History Month zine, Celebrating Black. Celebrating Black was created collaboratively by CARED, MUSE and QBAS. It is always available to read at: https://issuu.com/musemagazine/docs/bhm_zine_final_2

This week, Claudia and Jaimie ask fourth-year commerce student Cléa Pariseau (@cleabeans) about her experience with the Queen’s exchange program. Although it may have been an enriching french girl fantasy 90% of the time, Cléa gives some tips and tricks on how to handle the discomfort and stress of the last 10%. Tune in on Apple Music or Spotify to hear what she has to say!
We asked, and you answered! Before the holidays, the MUSE Podcast team asked Queen’s students to share their most outrageous unpopular opinions. In this episode, Jaimie, Claudia and special guest, Laura Cohen, debate on some of the highlights. The conversation explores everything from interesting food combinations (watermelon and sriracha?) to controversial celebrities (do you support Olivia Jade?). Episode 4 will bring you a few laughs and force you to reflect on your own “hot takes”. Enjoy!
A very insightful conversation with MUSE Online Contributor Liz Gonzalez on the possibility of misogyny within the medical system. This episode aims to dig deeper into Liz’s article, Where Misogyny and Medicine Intersect, in which we hear more about her inspiration behind the piece (published on November 9th). We discuss the reality of the situation through sharing personal stories, examples on social media and brainstorming a possible solution to recover from this sort of bias. We hope you find this episode as eye-opening as we did! Happy listening and check out this link to read Liz’s piece: https://www.muse-magazine.com/where-medicine-and-misogyny-intersect/
