Hey guys. So this is our final episode of the FFBE Podcast. It's been an awesome and amazing ride creating this podcast and playing FFBE. We are not done making content in general, but we're going to have to step away from FFBE. So this episode is an assortment of various topics, but mainly we reminisce about the podcast and our favourite moments of FFBE over the last 2-3 years. We hope you've enjoyed the podcast as much as we've enjoyed making it and sharing it with all of you. Thank you for listening! It would not have been the same without you listeners interacting and listening to our show. So really, thank you so much! Stay healthy and stay safe out there during these difficult times.
This is literally an episode entirely dedicated to talking about Madam Edel and all aspects of her as a unit. TL;DR she's the best unit in the game in every way imaginable. Thanks for listening and we hope you enjoy the show! In this episode we discuss the latest evolution in the Onion: Awakened Onion Knight.  He's pretty strong overall, especially with his ability to essentially puree an onion (and your enemies). He basically just does more damage than his previous form, is able to now imperil as well as buff your team, and he has a crap load of innate elemental resistance to Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. Oh, and did we mention that both is TMR and STMR are amazing for dual wielding units Hein is ... well ... OK. He's insanely good if you need resistance to fire, ice, or lightning. He's the only unit so far to give 150% resistance to those elements as an ability! In this case he is awesome. If you don't need that, he's just OK as a mage. We gave him an overall score of 10 spoopy skelingtons /10. Xande is great because he is free, has a decent TMR/STMR, and he can solo carry you through the event missions once you get him. Next, the continuation of the Valentines Day event has a nifty little Materia to pick up. Finally Mini and Wilm dream about villains getting CG movies, making specific reference to the old bully of the arena: Cloud of Darkness. Thank you for listening, we hope you enjoy the show! In this episode we discuss both the continuation of last weeks King Mog event and latest valentines day event featuring 4 new 5 star units. The continuation of the King Mog event comes in with the standard exploration and ... MORE FARMING!? why do you hate us Gumi?! In order to craft the equipment, we have to farm out the materials from a newly added mission tacked onto the explorations. More farming in an already heavy week... it's going to be a tough one. We have the lovely and beautiful Sieghard & Ignacio, the Master and student Sakura and Ayaka, Sweet Nichol (he's O.K I guess), and Sweet Luka. Now all the units are amazing in their own right, but Sweet Luka is bringing us one of the most insane TMRs they've released! Those Chocolate earrings pack so much into one TMR that both of us are willing to spend a Prism Moogle to get them. Hope you all enjoy the episode! Thanks for listening Wilmgaard: Twitter – twitter.com/Wilmgaard Instagram – www.instagram.com/asmirbasic/ Miniado: Twitter – twitter.com/admir_basic Instagram – www.instagram.com/gourmetking69/
In this episode we discuss the new units of the week. Paladin Cecil literally breaks the tank meta with his multicast-able tank abilities. He's no longer tied down to choosing what he wants to do on a turn... he can literally do it all! Plus he's insanely strong with an absolutely fantastic TMR/STMR Combo. He will be among the best for a very long time! And did we mention that amazing CG LB? Damn they crushed it. It's super true to his character, super cool, and even makes perfect sense with his existing kit. An amazing job by the creators of that animation. Rosa is an amazing free white mage for those that don't have one yet. She does everything you need from a white mage: heal, remove status, AoE revive and AoE reraise. She's amazing for anyone who needs a AoE Raise/Reraise white mage. Cid is useless. Even his TMR is useless. Finally, Steel Castle makes it's return! Don't know about you guys, but we have a lot of equipment to enhance. Hope you all enjoy the episode! Thanks for listening Wilmgaard: Twitter – twitter.com/Wilmgaard Instagram – www.instagram.com/asmirbasic/ Miniado: Twitter – twitter.com/admir_basic Instagram – www.instagram.com/gourmetking69/
In this episode, we talk about the new 2 star Bahamut and how awesome he is! We also go over our preliminary thoughts on Blue Mage Fina and the high hopes for the blue mage class. We also discuss our early feelings on Season 3 of FFBE (why is Fina in a bad porn?). Finally, Mini gives us a rant on arena limitations ... why must you make us suffer gumi!? Thanks for listening! Hope you enjoy the show. Wilmgaard: Twitter – twitter.com/Wilmgaard Instagram – www.instagram.com/asmirbasic/ Miniado: Twitter – twitter.com/admir_basic Instagram – www.instagram.com/gourmetking69/
In this episode we discuss the Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year Event. This event comes with some great limited units! Xuan Wu/Qing Long (1 unit, 2 names) is a fantastic DPS unit which focuses mainly on SPR based physical damage. Their Magnus  ability has INSANE damage modifiers, but can only be used once. But let's be serious, what the hell is gonna survive 60x modifier? Overall the units functions to max out SPR damage and can do elemental chaining. The unit also kicks off a new chaining family: Avalanche Kick! Emperor Foo is the new best support overall! His capabilities to both buff and break are awesome. When you put some of the biggest on demand buffs in the game and pair it with some of the best breaks in the game, you're going to get a good unit. But this guy takes in even further. He also has great damage mitigation, fantastic (but limited by cooldowns) elemental buffs, LB gauge filling, mana sustain, evo gauge filling, and evo mag. He literally does everything you could want you support unit to do. He even heals a little bit. He has to have a downside ... it's his LB. Its literally useless AND ridiculous expensive. There's no point where you would realistically choose to use his LB instead of double or triple casting his other abilities. But who cares about that, he's fantastic! There's lots of goodies coming our way from this event so be sure to login and take advantage of those freebies! Hope you guys enjoyed this episode. In this episode we talk about our thoughts on the current state of FFBE. Mini has felt a surge of motivation thanks to all the farming event improvements. Making it quicker to farm, providing some free units to help players in King Mog events, and adding in more worthwhile rewards at times has made it feel much better to play all the farming events. There have been some drawbacks; however, with useless 3 star and 4 star units being added with useless (in today's meta) really takes away from the game. With the addition of the 2 units recently which were given to use for free (Sister & Scartio) both of which add nothing to the meta, nothing to helping new players, and even their TMRs (which are free if you finish the HK Lasswell story) are useless. Both of us agree that using existing characters in the story not only helps reduce the amount of useless 3 and 4 star units, but also creates continuity in the backstory and would allow us to get to know some of the side characters even more ... which would also make us care for them more.  Wilmgaard misses long side-quest lines with detailed stories. The types of quests like Madams Manor, or the Vault story line (Legendary Raven is the final quest) are the types of quests we would like to see. Even if there were less quests in the game which would basically take away the "kill 5 giants" and "bring me a phoenix down" quests, this would allow for a more focused effort on making quests that culminate together to tell a greater story about the world of FFBE. Do you have comments about the game or ideas of how to improve the game? Let's talk about it on social! Hess King Lasswell is here and his mirror of equity has ascended even further beyond! ... Basically he does more damage than before. His TMR is ridiculously strong, his STMR is perfect for anyone using Mirror of Equity abilities (and it's a strong as hell katana), and Lasswell's CG animation has us excited! This is the first unit in a long while that's made Mini expend his deep pool of tickets, all for his boy Lasspoop. We also go over the free units which are being released and their free TMR we are being given and why they are trash tier and shouldn't even be in the game. Finally, the newest additions to the Defiance of Fate trials are here with an amazing ring, that is, if you're strong enough to win. Hope you enjoy! We discuss the Witcher series as as a whole. Was it amazing? Did it suck (definitely not). Who were our favourite characters and favourite episodes. It's all in here. Hope you enjoy! In this episode we talk about Regis and Ardyn. Regis is a fantastic support if you don't already have one. He's able to turn your entire party into light based elemental chainers to easily stack for your main DPS unit. On top of that, he's able to provide lots of buffs, resistance to some crucial status ailments, and even mitigate damage by 50%. If you don't have a great support yet, this guy definitely fills that slot. Ardyn is a DPS unit (Stardust Ray family) who primarily wants to double cast Warp-Strike Pain. He does have a limit burst that imperils and does an OK amount of damage, but it might be more worth while to continue chaining his Warp-Strike Pain.. it will just flat out do more damage. He also has a pretty fantastic emergency break which starts from 60-65% and scales up to 74% full break to one enemy. This is great to have on your DPS as a backup break in dire situations. Overall both units are pretty good, and they're coming with a Raid event. This means tons of gil, cactuars, and Ability Awakening Materials (love it!) Hope you guys enjoy the show! In this episode we discuss the newest tank in the game: CG Warrior of light. He has everything, support, tank, attack, massive stats. He's pretty much unkillable honestly. This event adds to the theme of no 3-4* units on the banner which is amazing. They give you free bonus units including the OG Warrior of Light, OG Garland, and A FREE 7* Immortal Knight Garland. Its actually amazing how they've turned around King Mog events to be a streamlined event from the NRG Expenditure, the number of battles, less 3-4* units, and even things worth farming for. Immortal Knight Garland is a have decent unit who, with the right equipment, can solo the entire event for you. Awesome! We're both loving this new era of King Mog missions. Hope you guys enjoy the episode! Mini and Wilm got together and discussed The Witcher. We give our initial thoughts from what we love (Geralt's voice is spot on!) and what we didn't (What the heck happened to Triss's hair!?). Overall we both agree it gets a glowing initial review from the both of us with a few minor issues (very minor). The fight scenes, the shoutouts to the games, the overall FEEL of Geralt and his interactions with the world as a Witcher are fantastic. We can't wait to see what else this series has in store for us. We'll give our final thoughts pretty soon once we're both done binge watching it.  Watching as well? What do you guys think? In this episode we discuss the new type of mission: Fixed-Party Trials. We absolutely love these missions for multiple reasons: the accessibility, the exposure for new units, the exposure for new team compositions, and especially the showcasing of featured units. This is a significantly better way to put new units on display for the world because it shows you both how they can fit into a team as well as allowing you to fully access their kit in an end-game content type trial. We both find these missions super fun and hope they will continue to make them regularly. We also give a quick review of CG Dark Fina (White Lily Dark Fina) and how poorly named her abilities are in english... Brown Demise ... seriously guys? In this weeks episode we appreciate the nostalgia of the 7 star Amelia unit and her abilities. We also try to figure out what the definition of an axe vs. a mace is... I think Mini has his definition down quite well. We then go on to pretty much ignore the other holiday units because they aren't that interesting. The holly jolly bundles are crazy good value, and both Mini and Wilm have picked up there bundles, Wilm even got King Rain from his! Hope you guys have amazing luck if you choose to get them! Finally, Mini goes off about his peanut butter pretzel pillows, Wilm talks about the struggles of the night shift, and we both remember how much free time there is during your college years! Hope you guys enjoy this episode! In this weeks episode we talk about Scorn of the Machina of Destruction, or Aigaion as most people know it. We're both going blind, and Mini hasn't given it an honest attempt yet. Wilm has tried a few times and only gained a small amount of knowledge. This thing is fricken hard, probably the hardest trial we have so far! We'll be updating on our attempts at this thing as the weeks go on until we clear it (get ready for a really long fight). We also discuss the new FFXV King Mog event featuring CG Noctis. Although he's amazing, we were most surprised and amazed with Gentiana. A free unit you get for farming out the event. She's a great little ice mage, and if you farm hard enough, you can get her to 7 star and unlock her TMR and her STMR all for free. They've put everything you need in the King Mog shop! Honestly amazing. Finally we ponder who's getting our Popularity contest vote. Who are you guys voting for? In this episode Mini and Wilm discuss the Physalis story event and how Physalis as a unit makes us feel. Does it make sense? We also go on a bit of a rant about the story, specifically, how ridiculous season 2 was. Why are the Veritas alive? Why is everyone Rain? How did they take the best part of season 2 and ruin it with 1 moment? And finally, WHY ARE THERE 700 CHARACTERS!? Last, we discuss the refreshing nature of the Scorn of the Legendary Stag. After the hell of the Bloody Moon, everyone needs a break, and that break is this trial. The stag is a big race against time. You have 10 turns to win, one of the missions wants you to win in 5, so really your main focus is putting out as much DPS as possible before you insta-die on turn 10, and pray its enough. Pro-tip: make sure to apply disease to do extra damage! With every trial there was a focus: tanks, survivable dps, high spr, high elemental resistances. This trial, is high DPS. Thankfully that's pretty much everyone's favourite thing to do. Pump out high numbers and mentally masturbate to it.  Hope you guys enjoy this episode! Scorn of the Wicked Moon... the bane of both of our existances. If there was one trial we both hated immensely, we think it would be this one. A trial where surviving is the difficult part, but to survive you need to be both tanky and do lots of DPS at the same time. Oh, and you can't do any physical damage, everything is immune to physical damage. Queue Mages, the squishiest of all unit types! That is honestly what made this fight so difficult, creating a mage that can AoE chain to kill all the adds as they spawn, plus survive the onslaught of the Bloody Moon turn after turn. It takes mitigation, stacked with more mitigation, barriers, tanks, oh and your DPS has to have over 900 SPR and 10K HP. Good luck! Tune in for a more detailed breakdown of our difficulties and how we overcome the trial. This Black Friday FFBE brings more than bundles: A new theme of units with an all new type of ability! Seems like Black Friday will be a new event type in FFBE, and I for one am excited. Not only are we getting an amazing bundle (4k Lapis for a ton of amazing goodies - Mini is excited) but these new units are really breathing life into some old 4 stars from years ago. Doctor Aiden (contending for best healer), Operative Zyrus (a pretty strong mage), Mastermind Xon (best thief now and forever), and Agent Olive (... we're not that excited lol). Aiden, Zyrus, and Xon got updates that stayed true to their identities as units and just made them even better, stronger, and usable in the current meta. Olive, on the other hand, is now a chainer? How the hell do you a chain with a massive effing canon!? It really went over our heads. Although she is very strong and fits with the chainer meta, we wish she stayed true to her finisher type character. If only her magnus ability could be all of her abilities.  Speaking of magnus abilities: all the new units for this Black Friday event got Magnus abilities. These are a new ability which can only be used a limited number of times in a fight, and then you can't use it anymore during that battle; however, these abilities are crazy strong! Each of them fits extremely well with the units kit and we think you guys are gonna love them! Hope you enjoy this episode! Stay tuned tomorrow for our Scorn of the Bloody Moon episode! In this episode we go over Magitek Warrior Terra and Adventurer Locke. The new Terra CG has Mini captivated and Wilmgaard can't figure out who the hell Locke is! Terra is ushering in the next level of mages, however Locke does nothing for the thieving class? The STMR he brings though is absolutely disgusting. It gives so much more versatility to full dodge builds on top of already being an awesome STMR. We also cover the Scorn of the Fallen Ice Bird trial. Wilm is upset at this trial for being a huge elemental equipment check ... a massive wall put up to just survive each and every turn, and that wall is made up of the crazy amounts of equipment you need to even play the trial. Funny enough, if you have the correct equipment, the trial is easy after that, there's no other tricks to it! Listen in for the full breakdown of numbers and units we used! We hope you enjoy this episode!
