Description

Ice hockey isn't exactly huge in the UK, but since reviewing NHL 12 back in 2011, I've been slowly falling in love with the sport. Maximum velocity was hit during the 2017-18 season, thanks to the Boston Bruins, and a little web comic called Check, Please! So join me as I talk with little to no knowledge about ice hockey 🏒 and talk with knowledge about other stuff, like Supernatural and videogames.

Based Cornwall, UK.
16 Episodes
Reverse
Commiseration over a 3 game losing streak by the Boston Bruins, followed by a righteous win against the Toronto Maple Leafs after McAvoy is attacked on the ice. Plus what the heck is going on at the St. Louis Blues and upcoming holiday activities.
In which I'm still catching up with epic ice hockey games, as I follow the Boston Bruins' 18-19 season. Plus I talk about colleague surprise at my love of ice hockey, and potential fan knitting projects. Go, Bruins!
Trailing behind the season, Emily ponders the Bruins and Canadiens, shows off her tattoo (and offers some tattoo advice), and adds some more analysis of the NHL app.
Catching up with the Bruins' continued road trip. Plus a spot of shopping, and further pondering on what people do when they watch a game on the telly.
Marathoning Bruins'games is an interesting way to spend your free time, but that's what I've been up to after life got in the way of watching games... So what's up with all the Bruins' injuries?

This weekend has been spent catching up with the Boston Bruins; pondering the nature (fights v "hugfests") and future of NHL ice hockey (gambling)... And getting the colour work on one of the most beautiful ice hockey tattoos you have ever seen.
A catch up on the Boston Bruins not so fab away games against the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks. Plus a look at a very expensive For Dummies book on ice hockey, with a side of knitting.
A look at real and virtual Atlantic Division standings, plus an update on updating NHL 19 rosters, and the call of World of CHEL?/Chel? (EA, which is it?)

Emily takes another look at Be A Pro Mode in NHL 19; talks about in-game poke checks, and explains where to find roster updates.
Feeling well enough to spin up my copy of NHL 19 on my PS4, I continued my quest to be the best player the Boston Bruins have ever seen, while also torturing my thumbs a little. Plus I have a little whine about waiting for the next installment of the Check, Please! webcomic.
With the opening Capital's game a distant memory, I chat about how the Boston Bruins dominated the Detroit Red Wings. P.S. Pastrňák is amazing.
A look at Thursday's Oilers @ Bruins game. Plus an analysis of the NHL app and game playback, and how I'm itching to get back to NHL 19.

Don't let my chill manner deter. I was super excited to watch the Senators v Bruins live. I'm remaining optimistic for the season.
#3: Why Bruins?

#3: Why Bruins?

Why support the Boston Bruins? That's the question sort of doggedly answered in today's episode. With also a confession about my second love: the Vegas Golden Knights.
In which Brian Marchand's tongue is discussed more than most people would probably like.

A Brit talking about NHL ice hockey and stuff?! Oh gosh! (Or where Emily takes a look at the start to the Boston Bruins' season.)
