I used to think I just was stressed but in starting to study trauma I realized my nervous system was spending way more time in fight or flight than was healthy. The thing that causes you the most pain, is actually inside your head. This is the bad news. I've struggled for years with being the perfect friend, sister, daughter and employee. I would completely turn off my own feelings of frustration or sadness in order to support what the other person needed. And it resulted in relationships that weren't completely genuine because I wouldn't share how I was really feeling. In this episode I talk about a story of trying to perfect and how if you've been trying to be perfect in all your relationships that you can start to build relationships that are more genuine and deep and real.
