In this sermon, we examine the biblical perspective on gender roles, focusing on marriage dynamics and leadership within the church. Highlighting the contrast between cultural norms and biblical principles, we emphasize the complementary nature of male and female roles, rooted in mutual respect and service. Looking into Ephesians 5:22-33, we explore the concept of sacrificial love in marriage and the role of male headship. Additionally, we discuss the responsibilities of elders and spiritual leaders, emphasizing empowerment and mutual submission. Encouraging listeners to trust in God's design for family and church structures, we provide reflection questions and additional resources for further study on this important topic at our series blog: https://www.bendchurch.org/post/a-theology-of-counter-cultural-living

Starting with a call to humility and love, we reflect on Jesus' warning against judgmental attitudes and the need for grace in our interactions. We then look into historical examples, such as the Protestant Reformation, to illustrate the dangers of prioritizing wealth over spiritual values. Drawing from biblical passages, we ponder fundamental questions about our relationship with money and its role in our lives. The podcast highlights the importance of financial stewardship and helping those in need, urging listeners to shift from greedy capitalism to a Godly, blessing-focused mindset. Ultimately, materialism is presented as a distraction from spiritual blessings and our connection with Jesus. Listeners are encouraged to examine their attitudes towards money and prioritize eternal treasures over worldly riches. Through reflection and action, we're called to embrace sacrificial love and compassionate service to others as true disciples of Christ.
How should we view human life?
Marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by God for the permanent union of one man and one woman for purposes of mutual support, companionship, and propagation of humanity. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” — Matthew 19:5

What Is the Result of Disciple Making? Answer: Disciple making results in a church that grows fruitfully and loves generously. If we let Jesus get close, he annoys us. If we let Jesus get closer, he scares us. If we let Jesus get even closer, he uses us to make disciples of all nations.

We want to be e a rescuer a hero, yet we avoid the role. Why don't we purse it? Wake up. Remember who you are. Why are you here?
full blog: https://www.bendchurch.org/post/a-theology-of-the-end The uncomfortable topic of hell is a subject that Jesus, surprisingly, spoke about more than anyone else in the Bible. There is a common disbelief in hell's existence. The central question emerges: How can a loving God condemn individuals to eternal suffering? God's love is inseparable from His justice, pointing to the cross as the embodiment of both. Without the reality of hell, God's justice, our freedom to choose, Jesus' truthfulness, the necessity of salvation, and the true nature of heaven would lose their significance. God doesn't abruptly switch from love to wrath. God's patience and provision of escape reassure us. Knowing and fearing God ultimately eliminate other fears.
