For quite a few years now, we have been running and growing businesses. We started all of these businesses from scratch and have grown over time. If you had told us 15 years ago that we would be running our own businesses, working three days a week, making as much money as we wanted, helping people, and doing work we loved…. we would have thought you were crazy. But here we are, and it feels like a dream come true. As we grew our consulting and agency practices, we started strategically building boundaries and structure around what we did to ensure that we always had freedom and flexibility as we grew. Our first goal was to raise enough money to cover all expenses and pay ourselves. Our next goal was to make enough so that we could start our own 401k and contribute to our retirement. Warren Buffett knows a thing or two about making money. His advice? "Focus on businesses with high-profit margins." This fits with the Feel Good Business Model, which is about building a business that makes money (at a higher profit margin) and makes you happy in the process.
