Today's guest is Tom Hoisington. He just wrote a novel and is an all around badass. We talked about the book, the writing process and a bunch of other stuff. Jarod and I talk about his upcoming video project. We talk about him eating burritos in front of Adam22 and how he requested to sleep next to train tracks. Check out the video here and make sure to subscribe to the channel!
Today, I'm breaking down the potential candidates for the GOAT TV Show. I give some background, talk about why certain shows can't be the best and then give you my pick as the winner along with the top 4. This topic sparks a lot of debate. If you think I'm an idiot, let me know. Tell me what I missed. Tell me why my pick was spot on! Bring it on!
I have admired Michael for awhile. He makes incredibly engaging content and is humble and self deprecating, a rarity in the marketing space. He openly shares how he continues to help his clients improve their engagement and make better content. Spoiler alert, it's not to get a certain type of camera. I learned a lot about how to make better content from our conversation and I hope it helps you too. If you are interested in making better content, this is a must listen.
Jacob is an old friend and currently works for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. He has been helping people improve their leadership skills for nearly a decade. He also has built a 20K plus Twitter following organically. He is a thoughtful and skilled communicator. We breakdown some of his thoughts on leadership and how he grew his social media presence. I learn a lot every time he is on. You can find him on Twitter @mrjacobespi. On his Twitter, you can find links to his newsletter and his upcoming leadership online course.
Today's guest is the senior pastor at Creekside Bible Church. We have been friends for probably 20 years, but haven't talked in a long time. We reminisce, talk about his experience leading a church, and discuss the merits of Cobra Kai. We had a fun time and even if you're not into religious content, I think you'll like this episode just because Chad is a great guy! We did have some trouble with the internet so a few sections are choppy Sorry, I did my best to edit it out. He also has a new podcast out called, Testimony, where he talks to people about their story of how they became a Christian. It is available on all major platforms. His first guest is Grayson Boucher, aka The Professor, who has dodged my podcast for the time being. His second guest, episode just posted, is Jacob Espinoza, who was cool enough to be on this pod as well (Ep 49 if you want to check it out) You can follow Chad on Instagram and again you can find his new podcast on Spotify, Apple Pods etc. Thank you again! Hope you're having an amazing week!
Brendon comes back on the pod to talk about Covid in sports, why he thinks the Professor sucks at hoops and can't name one thing Betty White is in, but claims she's a legend. We also talk Yellowstone and Cobra Kai. We were all over the place, and I couldn't have had more fun! Thank you as always for supporting, listening, sharing and all that!
Over the past 3 years, Colten has become one of my closest friends. This last year, he really got focused on his health and has made huge strides. We talk about that and get into the specifics of his routine. We also talk goals, TV shows, and a bunch of other stuff. We had a good time and I played too much with my new sound effects that I figured out. Anyway, thanks as always for listening! You guys rock!
The podcast is really getting a glow up. We are official now. I had a chance to talk with Casey Kulla, who is running for governor in the state of Oregon. And, I pulled no punches. We talked about the homeless crisis, the violence in Portland, the issues with police, and more. I appreciated him taking the time to have a discussion with me. You can find more info about Casey on his Instagram @caseykulla or at his website: https://www.kullafororegon.com/
Jake and I get caught up and talk about his recent experience competing in a half Ironman in Salem, Oregon. Jake is a CPA and certified badass. We talk about his training, his time running with Nat Borchers (who he didn't know at the time), and even his Lil Eddie days. If you want to know more about him, you can check him out on IG @jakefohn. Thanks as always for listening! This is good one!
I talk with Matt about a bunch of stuff. We talk about the origins of his podcast, what we've learned from podcasting, and the importance of good communication skills. We had a fun time and there was a lot of good info discussed. As always thank you for listening, subscribing, etc! I hope you're having a restful summer and you can check this out while you're hiking!
Brendon and I are back. We break down the first week of the NBA playoffs. We then did a cool thing where he asked me 5 personal questions and then I returned the favor. We then finished with a new segment we came up with on the spot, that leads to Brendon talking about Steve Nash's hairy knuckles. We laughed a lot, shared some cool stuff and tried to sound like we know what we're talking about when it comes to hoops. If you like it, please share, subscribe, and all that good stuff! Video version will be out next weekend. Don't forget to subscribe to the Youtube channel and click the bell so you never miss an episode!
Alex Emerson is an outfielder for the Portland Mavericks minor league baseball team. He shares his story of coming out of a two year retirement to tryout and make the team. He talks about his training schedule, the tryout process and what he was thinking when he hit a grand slam last weekend. He also talks about the college recruiting process. We had a fun time and I hope you are inspired. If you want to get tickets or stream the game you can visit the link here. You can also follow him on Facebook and Instagram.
Social Media Influencer, Conner Bobay talk about what it was like to become famous on the internet in high school, how he grew his audiences, what he's up to now and the upcoming Youtubers vs TikTokers boxing event. You can check out his podcast on Youtube. You can also check out his Instagram. He also is trying to get on the undercard of the Youtubers vs TikTokers boxing event. To vote for him text Conner Bobay to 310-388-6763. As always, thank you for listening. I get some kind of awesome feedback every episode! It makes it all worthwhile. I hope this finds you well and brings you some value!
Brendon is back on the pod so we can discuss the current controversy surrounding David Dobrik. We break down why it matters and how it's relevant in the ever changing culture. We also talk about some other random topics, but I think as celebrity culture shifts, this is an important situation to understand. Thanks as always for listening, subscribing, sharing, etc. I left the new logo as the episode artwork because it's just so sick! Thanks to Matt Maghan for this awesome new logo!
Mason Shultz is a bartender, fitness expert, model and athlete. He has been featured in ads for Nike, Adidas, Dicks and Lululemon. He shared about his journey and opened up about how he stays in great shape and how he has learned to make it a lifestyle instead of the extremes. He is thoughtful and had a bunch of wisdom to share. I hope you enjoy the conversation as much as I did. If you want to know more about him or his girlfriend (who is also a fitness expert) check out their Instagrams. Mason's is here and Erica's is here.
Big episode today. Unless you've been hiding under a rock, you know the sports card market is SUPER hot right now. My guest, Mike Gioseffi, is an expert in the card market and one of the hosts of the Sports Card Nonsense podcast powered by the Ringer and Spotify. We break down the grading system, as well as how collectors who have been out of the game for decades can get back into it. We talk about all aspects of the hobby and even if you're not interested in sports cards, it's an entertaining and interesting conversation. Don't forget to subscribe to the podcast where ever you listen to or watch your podcasts. If you want to know more about sports cards, you can listen to the Sports Card Nonsense podcast on Tuesdays and Fridays. You can also check out their website here or their IG here
My friend Brendon and I cover a bunch of topics. We are all over the place. It was supposed to be a podcast mostly where we argue over our all time NBA teams. But, we also covered why you suck if you protest masks at retail locations. I also ride hard for Cobra Kai and talk about how disappointed the Tiger King must be to not be eating McChickens right now. Was the last episode about COVID and this episode we talk about Tiger King not getting pardoned? Yup. Also, I'm still learning the new software I'm using. I know the audio wasn't great on the pod with Miranda about COVID. The video version is posted and the audio is a little better on Youtube. If you want to see old pics of Brendon you can find his IG here. Thanks for hanging with me as I work out the kinks with the new gear and new software! I appreciate you!
I had a chance to talk to Miranda last week. We talked about all things Covid, from her experiences at the beginning of the pandemic, to the vaccine roll out. She also tells a gnarly story about one of the worst things she's seen in the ER. I honestly cut it kind of short cause it was making me queasy. Anyway, Covid is a highly polarizing topic. We did our best to just report her experiences and what she has noticed. It can be difficult to know who is telling the truth, so I wanted to get a perspective of someone who is actually doing the work on the ground every day. You can find out more about her by connecting with her in Instagram. Thank you again as always for listening! Make sure to subscribe on the platform of your choice! I appreciate you!
Alex Neumann aka New Alex is a recurring member of David Dobrik's vlog. We talk about how he navigates the two vastly different worlds he lives in. We also talk about his near fatal pine cone fight, his different moments in David's vlog, and his love of sports. He incorrectly picks the outcome of last weeks NFC championship game...don't bet against Tom Brady I guess. This was an awesome behind the scenes look at what fame looks like in 2021 as more attention drifts to the internet. Alex and I laughed a lot! I hope you enjoy the episode. As always, thanks for listening. This would be a cool episode to share (hint hint lol). If you want to connect with Alex check his Instagram. You can check out his new podcast, the Down Bad Podcast on their Instagram or on Spotify.
