The Tennessee Titans have many rumors floating around about what will happen with the No. 2 overall pick. Will they keep it and take Oregon's Marcus Mariota? Will they keep it but go defense, and a take a guy like Leonard Williams or Dante Fowler? Or will they just want to add a weapon for Zach Mettenberger, in either Amari Cooper or Kevin White?
If the Titans do end up trading down, was the trade worth it? Philadelphia, Cleveland, St. Louis, the New York Jets and Chicago Bears all seem like possibilities.
The 2015 NFL Draft begins tonight, featuring only the first round. Tomorrow night, the second and third rounds take place, and on Saturday, rounds four through seven will occur. Not just for Tennessee, but how do I see the first round playing out tonight?
In regard to the Titans, what will they do at No. 2? Will they keep the pick and take Marcus Mariota, trying to build the team around him? Will they trade back with a team? Will they keep the pick but go defense? I'll provide my thoughts on what I think will happen and what I believe the Titans should do.
Within just a five minute stretch, quarterbacks were traded, Ndamukong Suh appeared to have been replaced in Detriot with Baltimore's Haloti Ngata and the Saints' Jimmy Graham was traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a really good center in Max Unger. These weren't the only headlines, but I'll touch on that five-minute stretch, as well as other big free agents and their moves to new teams, such as Darrelle Revis going back to the Jets.
Along with league-wide news, I'll talk about what the Titans did during day one of free agency, and what they need to do up to and in the 2015 NFL Draft.
After both Jake Locker and Charlie Whitehurst have started roughly out of the gates so far this season, rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger was named the starter this coming week against the Houston Texans. Locker may not be 100 percent, but if he's close, isn't he the better option than Mettenberger to this point?
With Mettenberger set to make his first career start, what should we take from this upcoming game against the Texans? If he thrives, should the Titans give him the keys to the organization? Or, should he be evaluated fairly after starting the rest of this season, if that's the intent from here on out?
Last Sunday the Titans eeked out a win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that is seen by many NFL fans across the country as the worst team in the league. It took a blocked kick at the end of the game to beat the winless Jaguars, but the Titans are 2-4 now and look ahead to games against the Redskins and Texans before the team's bye week. If the Titans take care of business against favorable competition, being 4-4 after what looked like a horrendous start to the season doesn't look to be out of the question.
The Tennessee Titans lost on Sunday, 41-17, to the Indianapolis Colts and are now on a three-game losing streak. People were fed up with Locker after the loss to the Bengals last week. I'll give my take on Locker after recapping the Colts game. Through four weeks of the season, the Titans are 1-3 like I expected coming into the year, but with the next four games on the schedule being favorable, if Tennessee isn't at least 4-4 heading into their bye, then there are issues.
There's plenty to talk about regarding this loss from the Titans. Everything I feared about Tennessee came true today. The corners outside of Jason McCourty are lackluster at best, the run defense was atrocious, and the offense was abysmal for the first 30 minutes of the game. After a 26-10 win over Kansas City, the same score-line gets thrown right back at Tennessee here.
Up next for the Titans is a road visit to Cincinnati, then another road trip to Indianapolis. Whoopee!
After last week's 26-10 win, my guess is that the rest of the country at least noticed the Tennessee Titans. Are they great? No. Are they a viable contender for a playoff spot in a weaker AFC? Absolutely. That's all I've said about the Titans for this season, and beating the Chiefs was as big a win as a win can get in the first week of the season.
This week, the Titans play their home-opener against the Cowboys, who appear to be exact opposites of the Chiefs. The Cowboys pose a threatening offense, with a historically bad defense. Both sides of the ball will be intriguing to watch, as the defense will be put to the test while the offense should put up a decent chunk of points.
In a game that I think could have huge playoff implications, the Titans' defense stepped up in a major way along with the signing of kicker Ryan Succop. Jason McCourty was the one cornerback I had no questions about coming into the season, and he made my feelings justified with his play today. McCourty had two interceptions on the day as well as a hit that caused a third thrown by Alex Smith. Jake Locker also had a solid day in general outside of taking a few more sacks than I'd like to see. I'll break down the game with the Red Light Sports Network's Chiefs show host, Ben Holzhueter.
The 2014-15 NFL season started last night as the Seattle Seahawks demonstrated why they were Super Bowl champions a year ago. For most of the rest of the league, the seasons begins Sunday. The Titans travel to Arrowhead Stadium to get their season underway. The way I have the year playing out, both teams will finish 9-7 battling for the final AFC Wild Card spot. If my prediction holds completely true, the tie-breaker comes down to who wins this game. This is as important a first game for the Titans as I can ever remember. I'll be previewing the game with RLSN's Chiefs show host/reporter, Ben Holzhueter.
With the 2014-15 regular season just about set for kickoff, I'll give my predictions for every team's record. I'll go through the Titans' schedule more in-depth, and what record it will take to reach the postseason. If Jake Locker stays healthy and the defense can adapt to the 3-4 scheme well, the playoffs aren't as much of a long-shot as the average person might think. Can 9-7 be good enough in a weaker AFC, or will every playoff team need to get to 10 wins?
Tonight's episode I will recap the Titans-Falcons third preseason game. For the Titans, how did Jake Locker look? Rumblings around training camp have been positive to this point. Did Bishop Sankey do anything to gain some ground on the starting running back spot? How many touchdowns did Justin Hunter score this time?
On defense, will tackling continue to be an issue? Regarding the No. 2 cornerback spot, did Coty Sensabaugh or Blidi Wreh-Wilson step up and impress? I also heard that Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt went off on the team about the start of the game. Was it warranted?
Week two of the NFL Preseason is under way and the Titans take on the Saints Friday night. I'll go over the game, how the starters looked, who shined, who played poorly and more. In a game which should have better conditions, (considering it's in a dome) will the offense look more sharp in general? Will the defense continue to have problems against the run, attempting to make arm tackles left and right? I'll be curious to see the running back and No. 2 cornerback battles continue against New Orleans.
After the game tonight I'll go through everything regarding the week one preseason game for the Titans against the Packers. Who performed well and who performed poorly? I'm curious to see how much time Bishop Sankey gets at running back as well as how Justin Hunter looks in general. On defense, that's where things will get most interesting. By switching from the 4-3 to 3-4 scheme, almost every player is switching positions in one way or another. How did the defensive line and linebacker core look? And who can we expect to see be the No. 2 cornerback opposite Jason McCourty?

Is Andy Dalton's six-year, $115 million deal as insane as it sounds? What does it mean for Jake Locker? If Locker leads the Titans to the playoffs, (even if it's a Wildcard spot) will he be in line for the same type of deal? I'll break down Dalton's contract and compare what it could mean for Locker's future when it comes to money. Also, what does Locker have to do to earn a deal like the one Dalton just received?
Today's episode will be all about the Tennessee Titans' 2014 offseason. When it comes to the draft, was selecting Taylor Lewan No. 11 overall worth it/necessary? Grabbing the first running back off the board rose fans' eyebrows - will Bishop Sankey win the starting job and how much can he contribute in his rookie season? I'll also go over each of the key acquisitions in free agency. How much will guys like Dexter McCluster, Al Woods, Michael Oher, Shaun Phillips and Wesley Woodyard contribute in their first season?
Today's show will be breaking down not only the Titans' 2014-15 schedule, but if the team does go 9-7 like I predict, is that good enough to make the playoffs? I'll be throwing my predictions out there for each AFC team, figuring out whether 9-7 is the magical record to strive for. If 10 wins is needed, can Tennessee get it done? With a young team and schemes changing on both sides of the ball, what should expectations be? What would be a disappointment?
This episode will be all about the Titans' 2014-15 schedule. I'll go through each game, giving my prediction for each. With the Titans facing the NFC East this season, the schedule could be much rougher than what it is. As I talked about on the show yesterday, the Titans have decent talent. And playing in the AFC, with a rather favorable schedule, a push for a playoff spot doesn't seem insane. Does the team have a better chance at making the playoffs, or going 5-11?
This is our first show regarding the Tennessee Titans, which I can't wait to get started. I'll give a quick bio of who I am, then get right into what should be expected from a team who made a number of changes overall - especially involving coaches. Do the Titans have a shot at making the playoffs this upcoming season? Or do they have a better chance at picking in the top five like some "experts" are suggesting? What can be expected of Jake Locker?
