Biography:
Rudy Varela.
Born on Aruba under the sign of Sagittarius.
At a very young age he discovered the passion for music due to his Colombian roots.
He grew up in a home where there always was music, especially: Salsa,Merengue and Boleros.
At age 12 he started playing trumpet in a brassband
during Aruba’s famous Carnaval parades.
Around age 15 he joined The super Orchestra QuaSi,
one night during a rehearsal in absence
of the lead singer he suggested to sing the parts, and then became clear…..
Not only for him but also for the band,that he was born to sing.
Then he made the switch from trumpetist to backing vocals and eventually lead singer.
After that he did several projects and had the honor of performing as opening act for
Renowned artists such as …UB40, Marc Antony, Sergio Vargas, Melina Leon, El Gran Combo,
among others.
He also performed in different shows in the HiRise
Hotels on aruba, this was his playground
where he perfected his singing and performance skills.
In 2009 he realized that his Happy Island was to small to make his dreams come true.
He opened a new chapter in his live and established himself in Amsterdam.
Ever since he has shared the stage with: The Metropole Orchestra, Jimmy Bosch,
The Cubop City Bigband, La Ritmica and many more.
At this moment he is working hard on his solo album that will be released spring 2014
