In our INTERSECTION message from September 17, 2023, Brian shares with us from Lamentations 3: 21-25. We lament our pain, our loss, our hurt. But, while we wait in our pain, we have hope.  God is at work; He is doing something!  And we have hope in what it is that He is going to do!
We don't like death.  Or sickness.  Or pain. We hide from these things. We do them in private. But this has been a hard season for our church. And today, we stop, and we lament. For us to heal, we have to sit with our pain and name our pain.  We lament what we have been through and what we have lost.  We lament the pain and the hurt. But we also have hope.  Morning by morning, new mercies we see!  We are going to build something beautiful here at St. Matthew's.   For the glory and beauty of God. We've had pain and loss, yes. But we have hope. Because God is good!  And His mercies are always, there!
In our Joint service from September 3, 2023, Andy shares with us from Exodus 3: 1-15. We see God call to Moses from the burning bush.  Fire in scripture often points to purification.  God called Moses, purified him, and used him. Our tests and trials purify us, and God wants to use them, and all things, for something beautiful.
In our Traditional message from August 27, 2023, Brian shares with us from Matthew 16: 13-20.  Jesus asks the disciplines, who do people say that He is?  That is the most important question we ask. Who is Jesus?
In our INTERSECTION service from August 27, 2023, Andy shares with us from Matthew 16: 13-20.  This passage tells us that the gates of Hell will not triumph against the church.  No matter what happens,  we do not have to fear; the Christ of God will triumph!
In our Traditional Message from August 20, 2023, Andy shares with us from Matthew 15: 21-28.  We see in this passage a mother in need, and she prays boldly. We should never, ever be afraid of praying boldly to our Father!
In our INTERSECTION message from August 20, 2023, Brian preaches from Matthew 15: 21-28.  We see a mother in great need, yet she still has faith.  We too, we can have faith even in the challenging moments of life.
In our INTERSECTION  message from August 13, 2023, Brian shares with us from Matthew 14:22-33.  In this passage, we see Jesus walk on water. What can we learn from this miracle of our Lord?
In our Traditional message from August 13, 2023, Beth shares with us from Matthew 14:22-33.  In this passage, we see Jesus walk on water. What can we learn from this miracle of our Lord?
In our INTERSECTION message, Brian looks at Matthew 14: 13-21.  Here we see the feeding of the 5,000. In this, we see that no matter how challenging it may seem, Jesus will always be able to make a way!
In our Traditional message, Andy shares with us from Matthew 14: 13-21.  We see Jesus give the disciples a problem they could not fix - feeding the 5,000.  He tells them, you do it. But the way they solve the problem is not their own strength, but they take them to Jesus. It is not for us to figure out; it is for us to follow His lead.
In our INTERSECTION message from July 30, 2023, Brian shares with us from Acts 2. We see the love the early church had for one another. May we have the same love today!
We finish up our Relationship Roadmap series by looking at John 15: 9-17.  We look at what Jesus tells us - He chose us. He is for us.  He loves us. And if He loves us, then we are called to love each other.
In our Traditional message from June 23, 2023, we see Brian share with us from Romans 12: 9-21. We are called to love all we meet, especially our enemies, as Jesus calls us!
In our INTERSECTION message from June 23, 2023, Andy shares with us from Romans 12: 9-21.  Paul talks about heaping burning coals upon the heads of our enemies.  We look deeper at what the Bible says about coals, the Gospel, and holiness. What exactly is Paul calling us to in this text?
In our July 16 INTERSECTION message, Brian shares with us about the key relationships in our lives, our friendships and other vital relationships. God made us from this, and these relationships are one of His great gifts to us!
In our July 16 message, Andy shares with us from Ephesians 6: 5-9.  This passage starts off talking about slavery, so we take a few moments to unpack to interpret scripture, particularly hard passages. After that, we look at what Paul is telling us about the other key relationships in our lives, especially our need for friendships.
In our Relationship Roadmap series, Brian shares with us from Ephesians 6: 4. What does Paul have to say to us today regarding how we should love, discipline, and teach our children?
In our Relationship Roadmap series, we look today at what Paul has to say about what it means to be a parent. To love our children and not provoke them. How do we love?  How do we discipline?  It all starts with being rooted in Christ. And at the end of the message, Andy shares a few words to St. Matthew's about how we live together during pain, hurt, anger, and discernment.
In our Traditional message from June 25, 2023, Brian shares with us from Ephesians 6: 1-3.  We see here God's word for children in how they are called to obey their parents.  We see in these passages God's plan for our families!
