The crew jokes around a little bit before diving into the 35-28 loss to the Washington Huskies. There were some positives from the game and as well as concerns.
The recorded Sunday morning to discuss Utah's emphatic 55-3 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils. They discuss a number of things from the game, they also hit on other topics such as Alex Grinch and when he would be fired (we were beat to the punch by the actual news before hitting publish on the episode), as well as a lot of talk about the Washington Huskies.
The crew wastes no time and gets right into discussing the Oregon-Utah game, specifically what went wrong... so there was a lot to discuss. There is still plenty to play for and plenty of reason to be optimistic with Utah over the final four games. Finally, Brandon Rose, do we see him or not?
The crew talk all things Utah after getting the 34-32 win over the USC Trojans. Can they continue to ride this wave? Does it crash? Sione Vaki's presence on offense and Bryson Barnes improvements at quarterback. Utah can get back to the Pac-12 championship game.
The gang get back together to discuss top three halloween candy. The impact of potential redshirts for Cameron Rising & Brant Kuithe. Why does it feel like punting on the season, even though this team is 5-1 and starting to get their act together offensively? Sione Vaki is him. Sione Is Him. SionHE IS HIM. Resetting the Pac-12, which is wide open but the Beavers have the easiest schedule.
The crew is back at it discussing takeaways from the weekend that was in college football. All things Cameron Rising and the QB situation. Resetting the picture in the Pac-12.
The crew shares there thoughts on the Oregon State game but more specifically on the offense through four games. There are things to be concerned about but there is a fix to the problems and that is health.
The whole gang is back together for this one... First apologies for the explicit language in this one, there are a few naughty words. The first ten or so minutes is discussing something that would alter the game and the math required to watch it. It gets a little messy and we apologize in advance for that too. Then the group gets into the pertinent Utah football discussions - how good is the defense and how bad is the offense? What can change? What's contributing? And why in the world is Nate apologizing?
Andrew, Tyson, and Steve get together and provide their assessments of the football team after three weeks of non-conference play. The defense is good and offense needs some work.
The fellas share their BIG TAKEAWAYS and little questions from week two of college football. Then dive into the offensive and defensive performance of the Utes against the Baylor Bears.
During the first 30 minutes of the episode, the gang discuss BIG takeaways from the first weekend of college football. That includes Colorado's win over a lousy TCU team, Pac-12 QB play, and the importance of good defense. Then the foursome hit on all things Florida-Utah, their MVP and takeaways from the offensive and defensive performances.
The guys dish on how incredible Utah Depth Chart Day is, picking a handful of things that stand out about Utah's depth chart. Then they go into talking about the Florida matchup, what it means, and what to look forward to on Thursday.
Andrew, Tyson, Cameron, and Steve give their opinions on the conference overall. What's the vibe around this season after everyone but WSU, OSU, Cal and Stanford dipped. They provide predictions on who they believe could be conference award winners this year, picking a Utah and a non-Utah candidate for most awards. They also go in on random over/under props for Utah this season including Cameron Rising passing yards and sacks among other things.
Still shaking off some of the podcast rust, the guys hit on the quarterback situation at Utah, as well as Sione Vaki making Bruce Feldman's Freak Athlete list, and the offensive line.
After a grueling media deal negotiation period, the Utah Blockcast has returned. The Pac-12 is dead, and we send our best to our Beaver friends. What led to this happening? Utah is headed to the Big 12 and it will be a lot of fun.
Long episode is looooong.Andrew McCullough, the Podfather himself, joins us in the Blounge!Cold open: Some good natured ribbing (slander?) of our guy Cody Barton (whom we all love, please don't kill us, Cody). We talk Dodd and that article he keeps writing, then the three players we're each most excited for in fall camp. We finish up with some fun Q&A.Last episode for a bit while we have some pod-ternaty leave as Steve prepares to welcome Baby Boy Bartle. We love you all! Thank you for listening and we'll be back soon!
Cold open: Which Big Ten team is which month?Steve, Cam, and Tyson talk NFL Draft Combine results, and then make predictions for where Utah players will be drafted. Then we look forward to draft eligible players for the 2024 draft, and where we think they could end up drafted (or not).
Steve, Tyson, and Cam get together to discuss the ongoing Andy Ludwig saga, Notre Dame's toxic vibes, and then take some great questions for the back half. Had to mix this one four times because Audition kept crashing, so the audio isn't as crisp as we'd hoped.I've listened to it 4 times now, and Steve definitely said "penises."
Unfortunately we stopped recording minutes before the Ludwig news dropped, so listen to this episode with the image of sad Notre Dame's out-turned pockets in your mind. Steve, Tyson, and Cam chat about KISS, baby fighting, Super Bowl snacks, the importance of a great OC, and the progression of Utah's offense with so much returning production. Along the way we fix officiating and finally let the good guys (refs) win one.
