Why did Alan Langford create his first commercial extension after years of offering free downloads? Is it more trouble than it's worth? How did he price it? In this interview, Alan takes us behind the scenes...
Site owners, and consultants to those site owners, are in the technology business whether they like it or not. Taking upon themselves to create and maintain Joomla ecommerce technology for themselves, it's important to know where the real value resides, so efforts can focus on manifesting that value. That value resides outside of where conventional thinking would lead.
LaSalleMart is not for developers. LaSalleMart is technology created by consultants and site owners, for consultants and site owners, to make consultants and site owners money.
Zach Atkinson (MachineAndMagic.com), Joe Sonne (JoeJoomla.com), and Suzan Marie Chin (CreativeRaven.com) join me today to talk about the philosophy behind LaSalleMart, creating simultaneous builds, the reseller idea, funding, and other topics.

Welcome to the LaSalleMart News and Hangout Podcasts. Bringing you updates, and private conversations, about LaSalleMart.
SquareOneCMS is a groundbreaking Distribution of the Joomla open source content management system. Founder Jeremy Wilken takes us on a tour of "S1", in this first of our two part podcast. Today we talk about the difference between a "fork" and a "distro", the Update Manager, wielding the power of controlling the code to express a vision, GitHub making it easier to use Joomla as Raw Material, motivation for "S1", and about learning how to traverse the path least taken.
The birth of LaSalleMart, a fork of Tienda. A friendly fork by my Club Commerce.
Arash Sanieyan and Rastin Mehr, core architects of the Anahita Social Engine, talk about hackerpre-nomics and podcasting their subscriber Google Hangout sessions.
Technical glitches cause me to reschedule my show with Alan Langford. I recap our unrecorded conversations, talking about Alan, the SquareOneCMS Joomla Distro, Transcriptions, and Alan's clever Content Pattern Plugin
Tienda is ready -- very ready. Tweet sweetly even in heat -- same with blogging -- for I love that technical talk! The way for users to capture the inherent power of Free Open Source Software is to join hackerpreneur clubs. Yes, I do care about the Nooku Framework! Nooku is now starting to focus on Change Management.
Right now, many Nooku Framework versions are used to build Joomla extensions, but only one NFW version is installable on a Joomla site. Since NFW versions are so different, an extension written with one NFW version will not work with other NFW versions. For me, this renders the Nooku Framework unusable.
Today I talk to you about why I came home to Joomla ecommerce in general, and to Tienda in particular. The call to Magento was particularly strong.

Of all the nearly 60 podcasts I've produced since February 2010, this podcast is the most difficult I've put together.
With a mountain of notes and over 50 takes, I know I have too much on my mind about my new Club Commerce.
Why am I forming a Club of Clients, how am I going to run it, what are my objectives for you and me?
I've been doing Virtuemart consulting for five odd years. Three-quarters of my clients were fellow consultants; and, one-quarter were site owners bootstrapping their own sites.
With such unusual difficulty putting this podcast together, I've concluded that the best way for me to approach this podcast is to just speak from the heart, as a consultant.
My marketing may not be the greatest, my copywriting not the slickest, but so what? I'm going to help you make a ton of money with Tienda. Who needs slick? Let me just lay it out for you...
(Sponsored by ChillCreations.com... Joomla!® and Virtuemart extensions, for professionals) Supporting free open source software: is it a duty or an obligation of the FOSS purveyor? Support is a drain on development resources. To what extent should a developer support their FOSS? Bob and Nicholas disagree on this.
(Sponsored by Torkil Johnsen) Torkil Johnsen is an active contributor to the Nooku Framework project. We talk about setting up a development environment using eclipse and symlinking. This is my first of an ongoing series of podcasts digging into the Nooku Framework.
(Sponsored by ChillCreations.com... Joomla!® and Virtuemart extensions, for professionals) Tough decisions face Joomla extension purveyors. David de Boer, founder of Chill Creations, talks candidly about the the choices and decisions facing Joomla extension developers.
