Today's episode is inspired by Ruth 2:10 and Luke 17:11-19 (NKJV)In this episode we look at two different people who came from outside the Israelite culture and faith. Because of their hearts they were able to give thanks and praise. One left everything to accept the God of Israel. The other considered an outcast from the nation of Israel as well as society was able to call on the King of kings and the Lord of lords for healing. Together because of their need and circumstances, they were both able to demonstrate an attitude of gratitude and humility by giving God thanks and praise.Activities & Reflection Questions:When was the last time you gave God thanks and praise?Write a prayer of Thanksgiving to the Lord. Are you a person of thankfulness and gratitude, or are you a person who forgets when God answers your prayer? In this last episode of 2021 I share a sobering message that truly touched me. A message that we all at times need to do. That is to "Consider Our Ways!!!" That was God's message for me as this year comes to a close. This message was inspired by recent Year-End Three Week Bible Study I recently completed a couple of days ago based on the Book of Haggai. This was a sobering message not just for the people of Jerusalem during Haggai's time. It was also a sobering message for myself and for the church today. It is extremely important that "We All Consider Our Ways!!!"Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways!Haggai 1 : 5 (NKJV)==============================================Reflection or Faith Journaling Questions for Further ReflectionQuestions1) Is there something that God has asked you to do, but you keep putting it off, just like the people of Jerusalem during the prophet Haggai’s time?2) Do the heavens over you seem closed? Are you putting your wages in a bag with holes? Is there something both you and I were supposed to do, but we didn’t?*****************************************************************Social Media:Blog: arlenaflanders.wordpress.com/Other Podcasts:Nuggets of Thankfulness: https://arlenaflanders0147015.podomatic.comThe Words of Encouragement Podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/show/words-of-encouragement_1

Those I loved have turned against me.(NLT)All my intimate friends detest me; those I love have turned against me. (NIV)Reflection Questions:Are you facing an extreme challenge or life situation? Often times in life we spend so much time wanting more money, more cars, more phones, more everything. Nothing is wrong with having nice things. However, when we feel the need to always want to chase after these material things. That's when we can run into some serious problems. That is why is important that we learn to be content with God has given us.In this episode I talk about being "CONTENT" Paul admonishes us in Hebrews 13:5 to,..Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”.Quiet Time Reflection Questions: Are you busy chasing Christ? Or are you busy chasin’ dem coins? Better yet, are you content with what God has given you and has allowed you to have? If not, what are some of the things that you can do to change this?**********************************************************Social Media:Social Media:Blog: arlenaflanders.wordpress.com/Other Podcasts:Nuggets of Thankfulness: https://arlenaflanders0147015.podomatic.comThe Words of Encouragement Podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/show/words-of-encouragement_1#christ, #christianpodcast, #devotional, #jesus, #hebrews13v5

Let's be real. Getting old is never easy. However it is a blessing, especially for those of us who are in Christ. Many of God's people in the Bible lived to see many years. Today's episode is based on Proverbs 16:31: The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, If it is found in the way of righteouss.Let us embrace our gray hair and growing older with God's Grace & Righteousness.*******************************************************************************Social Media:Blog: arlenaflanders.wordpress.com/Other Podcasts:Nuggets of Thankfulness: https://arlenaflanders0147015.podomatic.comThe Words of Encouragement Podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/show/words-of-encouragement_1***************************************************************
Being raised by a Caribbean grandmother. I was often privy to many of her wonderful stories of days gone by. That wasn't the only thing that I was privy to. I was also privy to many of her sayings, "Don't Keep People Place Hot!!!," was one of her all time favorites. It has also become one her of greatest words of wisdom for me even as a grown adult today. In this episode I share one of the stories and saying of my grandmother: DON'T KEEP PEOPLE PLACE HOT!!! This story and episode was not just inspired by my grandmother's story, it was also inspired by Proverbs 25 verse 17 - Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house, Lest he become weary of you and hate you.
This episode is based on Galatians 6:3. The Lord tells us to bear one another's burdens. Often times, we are faced with the challenges and trials of life. There are times when we may feel like we have no one we can talk to. Remember Christ is always with us. We can always talk to the Lord. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of ChristGalatians 6:2 (NLT)
This episode is taken and inspired from 1 Peter 2:4 - You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. (NLT)In this episode I talk about rejection, reproach and humiliation. I also talk about Christ being rejected by people. **********************************************************************Other Places to Listen:ITunes: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/word…nt/id1278809297Podomatic: cocoabrownflanders.podomatic.com/Social Media:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/spearandjavelin777/YouTube: Arlena's Corner:www.youtube.com/channel/UCqJAXUl1s_-eJV6WWvmk-hwBlog: arlenaflanders.wordpress.com/Other Podcasts:Nuggets of Thankfulness: https://arlenaflanders0147015.podomatic.com
Every woman dreams of being like the Proverbs 31 woman. What does is it really mean to be A Virtuous woman. Proverbs 31 is a great example of that. However, Proverbs 12:4 tells us, "An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones."It is important as Christian women that we remember that we are supposed to be the jeweled crown of our husband's head, and not the rotteness in his bones. Just as we need and want love. Men want and need our respect. It goes both ways. #avirtuouswoman #proverbs31woman #godlywoman #crownedjewel #godlymarriage
