The iFanboy.com Comic Book Podcast is a weekly talk show all about the best new current comic book releases. Lifelong friends, Conor Kilpatrick and Josh Flanagan talk about what they loved and (sometimes) hated in the current weekly books, from publishers like Marvel, DC, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, BOOM! Studios, IDW, Aftershock, Valiant, and more. The aim is to have a fun time, some laughs, but to also really understand what makes comic books work and what doesn’t, and trying to understand the craft of this great, often under appreciated art form. Sometimes they agree, and sometimes… they don’t. With decades of experience talking about comics, interacting with comic book professionals, this is all about the love of an art form. If the names Brian Michael Bendis, Amanda Conner, Geoff Johns, Gene Luen Yang, Donny Cates, Jason Aaron, Kelly Thompson, David Marquez, Kelly Sue de Connick, Kieron Gillen, Charles Soule, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Scott Snyder, Tom King, Mitch Gerads, Esad Ribic, Rick Remender, Nick Spencer, John Ridley, Skottie Young, Chip Zdarsky, Jöelle Jones, David F. Walker, Grant Morrison, and Darwyn Cooke get you excited, then this is the place for you. This podcast is so good, you don’t even need to read comic books or graphic novels to enjoy it, but it’s a lot better if you do.
ok. World's number 15 Warlock fan here. firstly High E has big ties to W. the whole counter Earth thing was in "the power of Warlock" #1 etc. secondly, I appreciate how close his after origin story was, but he was too gold, too plastic, and too dumb.
caught up 50 episodes in 5 months. This has been a sanity savior. Sometimes it is funny but usually inciteful. Made me evaluate what I've got, what I buy, and how. Thanks.
What do you think of youtube in terms of piracy? Because there are channels that read the story to you as they show the pages. That's even easier to get ahold of then pirated comics. Thanks for your time.
too many wrongs on your review, guys. normally, I would agree with you. but, you guys must've seen a different movie. btw, GL loves TLJ. he told Rian his vision was captured the essence of star wars. whereas, GL hates JJ's versions.
Sorry, but I'm starting to get tired of this podcast. little by little they start sounding like boomer grumbling, which is surprising because they're not boomers, but especially during the year end review. I just might let this podcast go.
zac snyder has to go.
My favorite podcast, period. I don't even get to read many comics these days, but I really enjoy staying in the loop with Connor, Josh and Ron.
it wouldn't be with this one. this is the podcast that's out of my league. i'd have to go home with iFanboy's ugly friend and then never talk about it ever again. it's a great comic review podcast! listen! go! NOW!
If you like comics and like listening to people talk about them then this is a great podcast. You can tell that these guys really like good comics and like sharing their thoughts. Also, they do a good mix of Marvel, DC, and Independant comics and respect others opinions.
I've listened to many comics-related podcasts, and this one is one of the best. It's pleasant to listen to these guys talk about the recent releases, as well as other topics related to the comics medium. They read and respond to some listener emails and voicemails on the show, which is also enjoyable. The hosts are very good about staying on track and not getting too far off topic, which other shows have a tendancy to do. Plus, the length of the shows (45m-60m) is much better than the 2hrs some shows run because they're too busy yacking it up and wasting my time. Have you ever tried to jump ahead on your iPod while cruising the highways at over 60MPH? Not a good idea. I highly recommend this podcast.
