Habits, Cravings and Practical Weight Loss - 063
Today’s episode is about a practical way to create new habits, and break old ones. We’re talking about weight loss… and I don’t love that word choice because I think we get too. Caught up on the scale, but I termed it that because I know that’s what a big portion of us, especially women these days are looking for.But as you’ll hear in this episode, the problem is rarely our knowledge on what is and is not good for us. It’s our mindsets around creating change, and our emotions and even hormones that tend to get in our way.And after my yoga incident this week, it’s the perfect time for me to bring a little more awareness to my own routines. Our guest today is Elizabeth Benton, the creator of Primal Potential. It wasn't that long ago that Elizabeth Benton was depressed, deeply in debt, and obese… over 350 pounds. Her deepest desire was to lose weight to get her life back. Even just to get around without losing her breath after a few steps.she realized that if what she wanted more than anything was to lose weight, why were so many of her actions sabotaging that goal. She started to change the way she approached her goal. Instead of learning more about how nutrition and different weight loss methods, first she needed to learn more about herself and what was driving her behaviors.Whether you struggle with your weight or you struggle with breaking some other bad habit. This episode is definitely a practical approach to habit change building healthy habits and taking control of your body and your life.Today we will learn:How learning can be a form of procrastinationHow our beliefs about ourselves shape our behaviorsA practical accessible way to start building better habitsShow Notes: mindlove.com/063Learn more about your ad choices. Overcoming Mindset Blocks to Crush Your Goals - 059
Today’s episode is actionable and timely. It’s New Years day and I know people like you have resolutions.80% of New Years resolutions daily by February and only 8% of people actually achieve their resolution so today we’re going to make sure that you are in that 8%.My whole life I have loved resolutions. I’d write these big lists of things I’ve always wanted to do, places I wanted to go, things I wanted to learn. And I’d get in about a week and then they’d just completely fade away.Last year everything changed, and the one thing I did differently was addressing my limiting beliefs or mindset blocks. And miraculously, I was able to complete stuff. It blows my mind.Today we’re talking to Amanda Crowell. Amanda is an improvement coach with a PhD in cognitive psychology. She works with educators and individuals to help them gain clarity and get better at getting better. She wrote an article on the three mindsets shared by people who actually follow through on their goals and it went viral. So today we’re getting our own little coaching session so we can become one of those people. Just in time for our New Years resolutions.Today we will learn:The three mindset blocks getting in the way of your goalsSome methods for keeping your big goals in clear viewHow to break down your goals so they’re achievableShow Notes: https://mindlove.com/059Check out Mind Love's first course here: https://mindlove.com/courseLearn more about your ad choices. Breathwork to Control Energy and Manage Stress - 057
The human body is miraculous. It's easy to become discouraged with the rise of cancer and heart disease… but think about it. Most of the population barely moves their bodies, the products we use are full of toxic chemicals, the food we eat is processed with GMOs, sprayed with pesticides, and pumped with hormones and antibiotics... When you put in perspective how much your body has to fight off based on your current lifestyle, it’s a miracle we’re alive to see another day. And then, our body screams for help through symptoms and aches and pains and we cover it up with meds. So if our bodies can do all this for survival, constantly, what else is it capable of? Today we are furthering our work on breaking free of the mental matrix that is our medical system and getting into some biohacking. We’re learning about breathwork. Breathing is our life-force I’m beginning to realize that breathwork may be one of the most powerful things we can do to supercharge our strength, our health, and our life. The yogis have known for centuries what many of us are just figuring out now. Today we’re talking to Niraj Naik, aka the Renegade Pharmacist. While working as a pharmacist, he saw people taking bags of pills and always coming back for more, never getting better. He knew he had to do something different. After his own wake up call with a debilitating health concern, he changed his lifestyle, and now he makes holistic health and these powerful breathwork techniques accessible to all. Today we will learn: - How our breathing patterns are symbolic of our overall health - How we can control stress and our autonomic nervous system through the breath breath - A few powerful breathwork exercises you can do at home Show notes: https://mindlove.com/057Learn more about your ad choices. I usually LOVE this podcast, but I was very disappointed by some of the content of this show. Oneness means not judging others. For some reason some people exclude our president from this oneness. Some of the content of this show felt divisive IMO. I believe we can change the world only through spreading positive thoughts and doing our very best. This didn't feel good to me. I feel like you might want to consider that there are people who listen to your show who might support this country and the president.

Meroe Rabieifar Well so sorry it rubbed the wrong way! Never my intention. I interpreted the humanoid thing more like someone would say someone was a Taurus or a Pisces. To be fair... some people don’t vibe with my views on veganism either 😉

Melissa Monte I appreciate that. I was speaking more on Gary's comments. i don't judge anyone on the premise of political views. i cherish differences and diversity as they are all opportunities for growth. My point is an episode about oneness should not include name calling. I guess I was expecting a more loving personality from a guest with that episode title. I do feel he has a divisive approach. Even the humans vs humanoids comment was exclusive.

Melissa Monte I really appreciate that. I'm not sure what direction you're trying to go with a vegan guest, but I found Emily from Bite Size Vegan funny, informative and non-"militant". She's an activist.

I love you and the msg in this podcast but I really struggled to keep my attention when you layered in that background sound to fix the audio issue. I unfortunately had to stop listening. I recognize you are probably super upset about it so won't weigh on it but hope you found a fix!

Breanne Schroder Thanks! Do you mean the background music in the beginning? The audio issues were a connectivity issue due to her being in another country with slower Wi-Fi 😊
