The Atlanta Falcons are 2-0 early in the season. Are you mad? Some are. Ridder, Bijan, Defense, Coach Smith is operating how he wants and it's working. We have played a lot of 1 score games in the last 3 years and were in all of them. Braves are having an historic season, will they finish it out with a World Series? Acuna is pushing for an MVP, Olsen is having an MVP season as well. Will the pitching be there? Hawks are almost back in action. October 9th they will have an open practice. First game of the season is October 27th. Will you be there? Has the team gotten better this off-season? Atlanta United are in 6th place with 46 points (1-1 tie tonight) Can they solidify a playoff berth? Can they advance? UGA saw South Carolina play at a high level, and faced a possible defeat early in the season. At halftime, Kirby Smart delivered a speech concentrating on playing in the moment. Result? A come from behind victory and keeping the number 1 spot. Can they win a 3rd straight championship? The Atlanta Dream were recently eliminated from the playoffs. The 2022 season was not fun. Ended the year 41-41. Never had a win streak longer than 5 games. Lost to bad teams often. Lost 13 games after having a 10 point lead or more. Lost several games despite being within 5 points with 3 minutes left. Did not improve as a defensive team for the 2nd straight year. Team was on pace to probably not make the play-in at all.  There was a coaching change late in the season. The team "did" qualify for the play-in, won that game. Played the defending Eastern Conference Champions and despite most saying the Hawks would be swept, had opportunities to actually win the series. Several Boston players commented how if the coaching change had happened earlier in season, Hawks would be a top 5 or higher seed in the East.  What is going to happen this offseason? What players will stay and who will go? Who all will be on the new coaching staff with Snyder?  There were some positives. Trae Young led league in total assists for 2nd straight year. AJ Griffin was recognized as a rizing star. Big O was a force off the bench, even getting into the top 10 in blocked shots per game. Jalen Johnson impressed many with his play.  Lets talk Hawks. A win is a win is a win. Is it? At what point is that not enough? Is that how you want to enjoy each season? Hoping we can play .500 ball? Today I will be talking about the current season again, most recently the Nets game. I will also be referring to my article from earlier in the month, and an episode of sidenotes that I did detailing what we did last year. I also will refer to an interview Coach Bud did while he was here in Atlanta. He talked about philosophy on offense. I also will refer to former coach Melvin Hunt as well. After, I want you to ask yourself, is what we have better than what Coach Bud was doing? Remember who was on the 60 win team. Individually, those players don't threaten anybody. Together, they beat everybody and made it to the ECF.   I will also talk about in game situations again, shot selections, etc. We have 18 losses now. When will things get better? Can they get better?
