If you want to truly know yourself you must first know God. Only in His light can you be truly known as you really are. This message explores God's revelation of Himself in 1 John 1:5.
In Song of Solomon, the couples depth of love and sexual fulfillment is likened to a garden vineyard. Yet, the garden must be protected for it to be fruitful, sustaining, and life giving. Last week, we considered how vital it is to focus on building a foundation rather than chasing after a moment. This week we will consider the second aspect of living for more than a moment. A godly marriage (or potential marriage) is of immeasurable value, and must be wisely protected.
Too many today are chasing the perfect moment for fulfillment and satisfaction in a relationship. We the moments can no longer be maintained the realtionship has difficulty surviving. What if we spent our time building a strong foundation for a marriage full of lasting satisfaction and fulfillment? Song of Solomon 1:15 to 2:7 gives us some insight on that kind of relationship.
When is the last time you examined your own expectations? Are your expectations healthy, realistic, or Biblical? When we look at God's plan for marriage we find our expectations for fulfillment are not too high but too low. God's plan for marriage is far beyond the cheap substitutes of Disney princess stories, Reality TV, Dating Apps, and pornography.
Why do ME Marriages fail? How important is the insitution of marriage as it has been traditionally defined? This message examines the dangers of the ME Marriage and seeks to clarify Biblical Marriage as God created it in Genesis 1-2. We will also consider why marriage after the fall of man and original sin effected it, is so difficult today.

Is Church as we know it necessary, relevant, or even Biblical? Why should we be involvement and a committed member of a local church? What unifies us?
We all sense there is a barrier between us and God. There is a seperation resulting from our flesh and our sin. The ongoing theme of Leviticus drives home this reality as God illustrates to His people the strict guidelines that would dictact how they could relate to Him and be His people. God was not trying to make it difficult, He was trying to make it possible. God has made a way for us to experience Him beyond the veil!
Why Have Traditions

Why Have Traditions

2016-12-04--:--

Christmas season is a time of family tradions. All of us can appreciate the many memories and nostalgia of this season. God has hardwired us for community, family, and the shared experiences that make up our traditions. At the end of the book of Leviticus God commands His people to celebrate 7 feasts every year. Each feast marks a historical moment in their journey as a nation. Additionally, each feast anticipated a future event, many having been fulfilled, and some like the "Feast of Trumpets" have not yet been fulfilled. This message tackles the 7 Feasts along with God's plan for traditions in light of the New Testament and life of Jesus.

Considering one of the greatest moments when the King bows to serve his subjects, washing their feet. What does this reveal about Jesus? What does this reveal about us?
If you have ever struggled with feelings of guilt or if you think God may forgive but will certianly not forget you sins, this message is for you. How does Jesus death truly provide God's forgiveness and to what extent does God remove our sins? Based upon the Ritual Sacrifices of the "Day of Atonement" in Leviticus 16 we can see the foreshadowing of God's amazing plan for making His people truly Clean.
Leprosy was a devastating disease in historical times. In Bible times Lepers were cut off from family and community, in additional to dealing with the effects of the disease. Yet, there was a potential for healing and wholeness. Likewise, Sin corrupts, destroys, and is highly contagious. But God has provided a way through Christ for cleansing and restoration.
Many have made the claim that God's Laws are irrelevant and contradictory. Additionally, Christians are selective of which ones they inforce, condemning sexual sins while ignoring laws regarding diet and wearing garments of 2 threads. This is especially relevant with the ongoing discusion of the Christians repsonse to the legalization of same sex marriage (highlighted in reactions to blogger, Jen Hatmakers recent statements regarding the marriage union). The chapters of Leviticus 11-20 give us some challenging passages to understand and discern, so let jump on in......
In an age of radical individualism, the highest value today is to determine what is best for us ourselves. When we consider our relationship with God, we also think it is up to us to determine the nature of our relationship with God. When we see God's wrath displayed in the Bible it seems uncivilized and shocking. So how can God be loving and wrathful at the same time? The answer lies in understanding God's Holiness.
The peopleof Israel knew they were unholy, sinful, and unclean. There was no person among them who was in a position to stand between them and God. They needed a mediator. God set apart priests and sanctified them for this role. Likewise, we live among a people in darkness who are in desperate need to experience God's Kingdom. We need a kingdom of holy priests who can show others the goodness of God in Jesus.
